Too bad S2 was soooo bad.

milozauckerman (miloaukerman), Thursday, 8 September 2005 20:29 (eighteen years ago) link

I think maybe I was too hard on Marissa's lesbian love, the season got even worse after they wrapped that up.

milozauckerman (miloaukerman), Thursday, 8 September 2005 20:31 (eighteen years ago) link

I like that Amateurist started this thread.

jaymc (jaymc), Thursday, 8 September 2005 21:15 (eighteen years ago) link

heeeeyahhh i love the OC! its all pretty n glittery n shit.

sunny successor (he hates my guts, we had a fight) (katharine), Thursday, 8 September 2005 22:57 (eighteen years ago) link

Bill Simmons makes my eyes bleed.

milozauckerman (miloaukerman), Thursday, 8 September 2005 23:01 (eighteen years ago) link

trey did the right thing. julie is still evil. summer is still hotttttt. all is right with the world.

Haikunym (Haikunym), Friday, 9 September 2005 00:17 (eighteen years ago) link

I don't like it when they make Julie really-really evil. She's better running a stupid magazine and joking about lesbian flings. Mildly evil.

milozauckerman (miloaukerman), Friday, 9 September 2005 00:19 (eighteen years ago) link

This was the most anti-climactic season opener of any show ever!

nickalicious (nickalicious), Friday, 9 September 2005 11:21 (eighteen years ago) link

Although I'm looking forward to Mrs. Eyebrows' blonde-on-blonde recovering alcoholic lesbian makeouts with that actress woman whose politician husband got in all that trouble for dirty stuff.

nickalicious (nickalicious), Friday, 9 September 2005 11:23 (eighteen years ago) link

con: x-post - no shit. bad boy, apparently not angry some chick put a bullet in him despite history of hissy fits triggered by the smallest events, writes written confession and conveniently leaves town. still buttoning shirt as he boards bus to vegas. law officials blindly accept written confession witnessed only by attempted murder suspect. good job! the down side? no princeton for richest girl in newport. what the fuck does she need princeton for??

pro: marissa looked flat out fox in that candy striper get up.

future notes: less boats, more cap'n oats.

sunny successor (he hates my guts, we had a fight) (katharine), Friday, 9 September 2005 12:03 (eighteen years ago) link

The best part was when Julie was like "I'm a grieving widow, here" and the lady looked over at Jimmy and was all "uh HUH".

nickalicious (nickalicious), Friday, 9 September 2005 12:06 (eighteen years ago) link

dude, that was a man!

sunny successor (he hates my guts, we had a fight) (katharine), Friday, 9 September 2005 22:58 (eighteen years ago) link

Oooh, season of the evil Aryans. Are they all going to a public school now or will the couples split up? Or will they find out that Aryan Dean is boinking a student (Taylor?) and bust him?

milozauckerman (miloaukerman), Friday, 16 September 2005 01:04 (eighteen years ago) link

I love all the new Evil!
I hope they do home schooling. In the pool house.

rrrobyn (rrrobyn), Friday, 16 September 2005 01:21 (eighteen years ago) link

i gave up watching once marissa played the black keys in one of her 10am morning alchohol fits....

Lupton Pitman (Chris V), Friday, 16 September 2005 08:54 (eighteen years ago) link

I hope jocks start picking on Cohen again now that Ryan's not around.

alex in montreal (alex in montreal), Friday, 16 September 2005 12:17 (eighteen years ago) link

oh it's knives out on cohen...and on summer too, for all her past indiscretions before she turned "nice and indie." great plot twist!

The Obligatory Sourpuss (Begs2Differ), Friday, 16 September 2005 12:31 (eighteen years ago) link

aw, marissa's a woman.

milozauckerman (miloaukerman), Friday, 23 September 2005 04:23 (eighteen years ago) link

Who was that covering "Baby Blue"?

Rickey Wright (Rrrickey), Friday, 23 September 2005 05:14 (eighteen years ago) link

The Aryan Dean is so busted.

Has ILE abandoned the OC? Do we not find Julie Cooper's poverty compelling? Ryan dropping out to work in the man's world (again) compelling? Where's the love people?

This season's shaping up good. The only dud is the Jeri Ryan scam subplot, but everything else is working (not enough Sandy, of course), and I figure Ryan dropping out will be resolved as soon as the Aryan Dean is caught mid-nookie with his jailbait.

milozauckerman (miloaukerman), Friday, 30 September 2005 04:53 (eighteen years ago) link

Yeah, almost all the episodes in Season 3 so far have been better than anything in Season 2.

I don't think there was much ILE love for the O.C. in the first place.

alex in montreal (alex in montreal), Friday, 30 September 2005 11:20 (eighteen years ago) link

well, i missed last week but im assuming the following happened: julie found out caleb was broke, jimmy made a run for it, kirsten came home, marissa and ryan got booted from private school.

im not loving this whole rehab scam buisness at all. id be more interested in a kirsten relapse. is everyone in the OC going to be poor now? i like looking at pretty things. although julie looked hot collapsing on the seedy motel bed wearing two double strand diamond tennis bracelets + leaking crazy eyes.

i dont know about the whole freaks and geeks direction marissa is taking either. summer w/ white and pink flowers in her hair had better save the day, but not before marissa cures all the public school kids hate with an under the sea themed dance.

sunny successor (he hates my guts, we had a fight) (katharine), Friday, 30 September 2005 16:37 (eighteen years ago) link

BASEBALL?? WTF!

sunny successor (he hates my guts, we had a fight) (katharine), Thursday, 6 October 2005 23:10 (eighteen years ago) link

Criminal Minds?? WTF.

rrrobyn (rrrobyn), Thursday, 6 October 2005 23:17 (eighteen years ago) link

two months pass...
I'm iced in and there's nothing on TV, so I finally watched an episode of One Tree Hill - it's good! At least as good as the average OC episode. And the wannabe fashion-designer girl has a Descendents record in her vinyl stack.

Erick Dampier is better than Shaq (miloaukerman), Thursday, 8 December 2005 02:17 (eighteen years ago) link

i haven't watched it at ALL this season

s1ocki (slutsky), Thursday, 8 December 2005 03:23 (eighteen years ago) link

the OC

s1ocki (slutsky), Thursday, 8 December 2005 03:23 (eighteen years ago) link

you should! after a slow start this season has shaped up to become much better than the previous one, which most oc fans would agree was very disappointing.

julie cooper still rules this show. i love her.

Lovelace (Lovelace), Thursday, 8 December 2005 03:59 (eighteen years ago) link

Oh my God, the OC is sooooo lousy this season. Don't watch it Slocki, it will only tarnish your positive memories of earlier episodes.

Matthew C Perpetua (inca), Thursday, 8 December 2005 04:10 (eighteen years ago) link

what's happening?

s1ocki (slutsky), Thursday, 8 December 2005 05:31 (eighteen years ago) link

oh, not much. what's happening with you?

Amateur(ist) (Amateur(ist)), Thursday, 8 December 2005 06:06 (eighteen years ago) link

dont even try to tell me youre not excited about christmukkah bar mitzvahka

sunny successor (katharine), Tuesday, 13 December 2005 19:21 (eighteen years ago) link

maybe a little.
But, man, it really is boring this season. I have fully gotten up and made dinner/cleaned the apt/otherwise occupied myself during every single episode. Yet, obviously, I have managed to see every one. It's because of hope, hope for the old O.C. ways.

rrrobyn (rrrobyn), Tuesday, 13 December 2005 19:32 (eighteen years ago) link

i dont mind this season at all although i wish theyd hurry up with a marissa makes out with/drunkenly boffs/falls in love with seth plotline. everyones a little too comfortable in their relationships for my liking.

sunny successor (katharine), Tuesday, 13 December 2005 19:35 (eighteen years ago) link

The constant Ryan/Marissa friction has gotten old.

Erick Dampier is better than Shaq (miloaukerman), Tuesday, 13 December 2005 19:48 (eighteen years ago) link

haha

sunny successor (katharine), Tuesday, 13 December 2005 20:20 (eighteen years ago) link

i just read that anna is coming back to the show! whatever i get for christmas nothing will be better than this news. she was always my favorite charachter and i had such a crush on her. that good bye scene in the airport with seth was so heartbraking(really).

Lovelace (Lovelace), Tuesday, 20 December 2005 18:53 (eighteen years ago) link

so my big return to the OC was for the chrismukkah episode... and it SUCKED!

s1ocki (slutsky), Tuesday, 20 December 2005 19:14 (eighteen years ago) link

johnny needs to die...

i can't believe marissa is falling for that "i just wanna be friends with you" thing for the THIRD time in THREE seasons (oliver, trey, johnny)

alex in montreal (alex in montreal), Tuesday, 20 December 2005 19:21 (eighteen years ago) link

yeah it did suck. marissa looked hot though and julie in trailer park mode is fantastic, so that helped.
you could see the ryan in white knight mode tears off from a big richie rich to do scene coming from a mile or 10 away. why is it all these primetime teen soaps have all these gorgeous people in them but the lead guy is always so-so. ryan, dawson etc. i dont get it. is he the one were supposed to 'relate' to?

sunny successor (katharine), Tuesday, 20 December 2005 19:29 (eighteen years ago) link

oh and my god! that last scene with all the arms and the swaying! WTF?!?

sunny successor (katharine), Tuesday, 20 December 2005 19:33 (eighteen years ago) link

slow jamz and white guy indie acoustic shit (Chris V), Wednesday, 21 December 2005 12:39 (eighteen years ago) link

four weeks pass...
ho-hum ep last night. still, i guess we know how the writers are getting Seth out of going to Brown.

when are marissa and seth going to drunkenly boff so ryan has an excuse to go steal a car in chino and summer gets to be bad girl again?

i still dont get what happened with the AA chick and with the reappearance and disappearance of marissa's dad.

if mischa barton wasn't so delightful to look at and the julie character didnt rule, i might have abandoned this show at the beginning of the season.

sunny successor (katharine), Friday, 20 January 2006 15:58 (eighteen years ago) link

I thought yesterday's ep was almost a return to form! But, yeah, not quite there - but Caitlyn (is that Marissa's sister's name?) looks promising as a character. They should've kept on with the Summer's Dad + Bitchy Mom dating and extended the money-stealing bit - which would also mean more Julie Cooper-Nichol! I guess they have something figured out for "drama" for the rest of the season? Maybe Marissa's dad will come back again once Julie's with Summer's dad and happy? I'd be fine if they all went off to university and most of the show took place in the summer and during breaks, hey why not.

rrrobyn (rrrobyn), Friday, 20 January 2006 16:29 (eighteen years ago) link

Pot smoking! Someone's going to a state university...

rrrobyn (rrrobyn), Friday, 27 January 2006 02:56 (eighteen years ago) link

everytime i see julie cooper-nichol, i think julie copper nickel.

maria tessa sciarrino (theoreticalgirl), Friday, 27 January 2006 03:17 (eighteen years ago) link

Me too! It always pleases me when julie finds another rich guy.

sunny successor (katharine), Friday, 27 January 2006 05:54 (eighteen years ago) link

Is it bad that the first thing I thought when Johnny fell to his death was 'Woah! That operation sure was a waste of money.'?
I'm glad Julie finally scored Richie Rich. The whole invisible Gus schtick was getting beyond lame.

sunny successor (katharine), Friday, 3 February 2006 04:07 (eighteen years ago) link

aw man they turned the TVs off at the YMCA right before the end of the episode... did he really die?!?! dang!
