iPhone apps S/D

I like all these productivity apps, but apple needs to allow tighter integration with siri/icloud. Otherwise they have limited use to me. I always go back to the stock apple apps even though they are not as fully featured.

If Apple can't fix iCloud, it needs to allow apps another way to sync data in the background. This current mess is a fucking joke.

i've already had to reject interesting storage solutions because my favorite apps offer Dropbox integration only

tbf, I would think offering a data layer that wrappers iCloud/file sync/etc would be really useful, especially if it's cross-platform. Then you could just use that API and roll out your iPhone, Windows, etc. apps

Problem is iCloud is a) basically opaque, b) broken and c) tied to a device/account combo. There's no way to get access to multiple accounts to do what you're talking about.

Simperium is also disingenuous - nothing except iCloud can do proper background updates on iOS.

I'm sure it does but really the key functionality for me is to be able to make reminders by starting Siri using my headphones while my phone is in my packet. I make my todo lists while walking to the train every morning.

gave up after one too many game where we were repeatedly dancing around not clearing the way for the other one to have the last word, if you see what I mean.

It's not bad but the Mailbox seems cool in diff ways and worth trying out for free. I will let you know in like 3 wks when I can actually use it.

I don't even use the gmail app because I prefer staying in safari, but it probably helps that I don't get more than 10 gmails a day.

I don't love iOS mail and gmail app is much better looking and has a way better search but its also way slower and doesn't have a unified inbox and sometimes it signs me out (of all accounts at once!) for no reason and notifications don't disappear from the lock screen if I check mail on my computer

mailbox is pretty slow and you can't archive, delete, or delay 4/5/6 items at a time

you can only deal with single mail items or your whole inbox

I know Sparrow is not updated now or whatever but isn't it still pretty good for gmail? Unified inbox, etc, and the annoyance of it having no push notifications can be patched with a jailbreak, if you need it

the first few games I thought it was boggle rules, and that letters could only be played contiguously
