it's still good but ehh not as good as the first two seasons. there is too much jack imo, and the salma stuff especially isn't working for me. this might be owing to unfamiliarity with the telenovela form but anyway, not feelin. the tracy stuff this week was a++ though.

also liz: '*i'm* the generalissimo' / hamm: '*i don't know what that means*'.

i think the only problem is that things like 'lol spanish language tele' is just another sitcom filler episode idea (off my head arrested development and friends have done it) and it seems more and more just like another sitcom. One of the funniest on television though, and it's pretty much just setting standards too high after that excellent first season.

Re-watching the original Sabor episode, S2E12 "Subway Hero" and holy Hell it is funny. Probably my fav episode ever. Bucky Bright describing Conan O'Brien as 'one gigantic lesbian' ("Who is Conan O'Brien and why is she so sad?"), Dennis Duffy teaming up with the Stanley Cup to fight illiteracy, and Tracy Jordan joining Republicans for the Blackmerican campaign.

Bucky Bright: Men came to work in ties and hats.
Kenneth: So elegant.
Bucky: And tailor-made suits, you know, a little place here for a little carnation in your lapel. And an inside monogram pocket, you know, for your opium pipe and you're switchblade.
Kenneth: I'm sorry, what now?

So I've made my way into reviewing the second season & have just gotten to the Christmas special. I have only recently been made aware of the existence of the "lemon party" site (I'm a half-decade behind the meme curve apparently - google at your own risk), so I didn't get the insider joke at the family dinner, in which Liz's dad, Dick, exclaims: "It wouldn't be a Lemon party without old Dick."

haha that is one of my favorite jokes of the entire season

one stand-out moment for me was when a conversation between jenna and liz was picked up by the stage microphone, and jenna looks shocked and goes "i didn't use the N-word, did I?".

also, the jack shooting the GE synergy commercial.
