Hmmmm

b'hurt's tauntin' (darraghmac), Tuesday, 29 January 2013 20:04 (thirteen years ago)

Peach!

Ismael Klata, Tuesday, 29 January 2013 20:16 (thirteen years ago)

A blow expected, repeated, falling on a bruise, with no smart or shock of surprise, only a dull sickening sensation and the doubt whether another like it could be borne.

Windsor Davies, Tuesday, 29 January 2013 20:16 (thirteen years ago)

rip

Ismael Klata, Tuesday, 29 January 2013 20:16 (thirteen years ago)

motherfucking Villa.

EZ Snappin, Tuesday, 29 January 2013 20:16 (thirteen years ago)

I was just typing that I really want Villa to not lose tonight, because while a club in a tailspin is one of football's finest sights, they have to be particularly odious before you want them to die. But that seems academic at this point tbh.

Ismael Klata, Tuesday, 29 January 2013 20:18 (thirteen years ago)

Please don't take this the wrong way, Windsor, but I really want Villa to lose.

A Yawning Chasm (Nasty, Brutish & Short), Tuesday, 29 January 2013 20:22 (thirteen years ago)

I don't even know why.

A Yawning Chasm (Nasty, Brutish & Short), Tuesday, 29 January 2013 20:23 (thirteen years ago)

Brian Little OTM, amazingly. The attention is always focussed on how bad we are in defence, but I think the midfield is probably worse. By which I mean Bannan and Westwood

Windsor Davies, Tuesday, 29 January 2013 20:23 (thirteen years ago)

Tiny, tiny little part of me that kinda agrees tbh NBS. Like a miniscule fragment of my soul is ready to give up the ghost and would sooner just lose the next 8 games back to back and get this over with quickly. Dunno if I can bear a long-drawn out near miss

Windsor Davies, Tuesday, 29 January 2013 20:26 (thirteen years ago)

Oh yeah, I can relate to that - if your team's going to do badly, you want them to do more badly than anyone else ever. No place for half-measures in this game.

Ismael Klata, Tuesday, 29 January 2013 20:30 (thirteen years ago)

I bet nbs was revelling in it those years Utd finished third

Ismael Klata, Tuesday, 29 January 2013 20:40 (thirteen years ago)

This is pressure.

Ismael Klata, Tuesday, 29 January 2013 20:50 (thirteen years ago)

(xp) I've said it before, and it was a very long time ago, but back when United did actually look like they might go down (86/87 and 89/90) part of me wanted it to actually happen. But that was on the basis that United would come straight back up and it would be nice to have a season playing different teams and winning most of the time. Obviously I'd have preferred them to actually be challenging for the title, but I think I'd have preferred relegation and rebirth to grinding along in 16th place.

A Yawning Chasm (Nasty, Brutish & Short), Tuesday, 29 January 2013 20:50 (thirteen years ago)

False hope.

EZ Snappin, Tuesday, 29 January 2013 20:51 (thirteen years ago)

Another embarrassing fold on the card for Newcastle?

CraigG, Tuesday, 29 January 2013 20:51 (thirteen years ago)

I feel like they've thrown away solid looking 2-0 leads more than any other team this season

CraigG, Tuesday, 29 January 2013 20:52 (thirteen years ago)

crisis club Newcastle

Ismael Klata, Tuesday, 29 January 2013 20:53 (thirteen years ago)

Oh, to be in the position to throw away 2 goal leads...

I remember those days, just a few seasons back. Good times.

EZ Snappin, Tuesday, 29 January 2013 20:53 (thirteen years ago)

Not raised the pulse much yet. There's plenty of time yet for this to go completely tits up, for either team.

Windsor Davies, Tuesday, 29 January 2013 20:53 (thirteen years ago)

Whatcha talking about EZ? Our throwing of the game against the Baggies the other day was absolutely vintage.

Windsor Davies, Tuesday, 29 January 2013 20:54 (thirteen years ago)

True. Total throwback game. I just remember one of those every other week under O'Neill.

EZ Snappin, Tuesday, 29 January 2013 20:58 (thirteen years ago)

what a pass from Benteke

Ismael Klata, Tuesday, 29 January 2013 21:02 (thirteen years ago)

How the fuck am i watching swansea sunderland

b'hurt's tauntin' (darraghmac), Tuesday, 29 January 2013 21:07 (thirteen years ago)

Get this on, it's really good

Ismael Klata, Tuesday, 29 January 2013 21:08 (thirteen years ago)

lol i'm watching stoke wigan cause it's the only one available to me

mizzell, Tuesday, 29 January 2013 21:09 (thirteen years ago)

If Villa have any intention of winning some games this season we basically need to drop Joe Bennett, cede the left flank completely from a defensive perspective (because its not like we defend it when there's a man there anyway) and make sure that Gabby Agbonlahor plays every single fucking minute. Although if Lambert would drop the three at the back thing and let us play Agbonlahor, N'Zogbia and Weimann behind Benteke in a 4-2-3-1 full time that'd work too. We just look like so much more of a threat when Gabby and Weimann are on

Windsor Davies, Tuesday, 29 January 2013 21:11 (thirteen years ago)

Getting a bit rough this game now. Gwarn you bastards, get stuck into those poncey frogs

Windsor Davies, Tuesday, 29 January 2013 21:12 (thirteen years ago)

I fully support that 4-2-3-1 idea.

EZ Snappin, Tuesday, 29 January 2013 21:12 (thirteen years ago)

bullshiiiiiiit we have to score

Windsor Davies, Tuesday, 29 January 2013 21:33 (thirteen years ago)

a good 50 minute tease. Fucking Villa.

EZ Snappin, Tuesday, 29 January 2013 21:37 (thirteen years ago)

Is that lee cattermole

b'hurt's tauntin' (darraghmac), Tuesday, 29 January 2013 21:38 (thirteen years ago)

Good old QPR

A Yawning Chasm (Nasty, Brutish & Short), Tuesday, 29 January 2013 21:39 (thirteen years ago)

Though they could have done that in May, instead of folding like cunts when they realised they were staying up

A Yawning Chasm (Nasty, Brutish & Short), Tuesday, 29 January 2013 21:39 (thirteen years ago)

goals from cabaye and mcarthur noteworthy

b'hurt's tauntin' (darraghmac), Wednesday, 30 January 2013 00:11 (thirteen years ago)

both wigan goals were lovely, mcarthur's outside of the boot finish was a peach

mizzell, Wednesday, 30 January 2013 00:32 (thirteen years ago)

julio cesar man. unreal

r|t|c, Wednesday, 30 January 2013 00:34 (thirteen years ago)

yeah some cracking saves too from that man

b'hurt's tauntin' (darraghmac), Wednesday, 30 January 2013 00:36 (thirteen years ago)

dude is p much rerunning casillas v united in 2000 on a weekly basis

r|t|c, Wednesday, 30 January 2013 00:41 (thirteen years ago)

david silva back on beautiful form too

r|t|c, Wednesday, 30 January 2013 00:45 (thirteen years ago)

Reminds mean that Patrick Barclay was on the Sky Sports journo programme a few weeks back saying that QPR would be better off playing Rob Green in goal instead of Cesar (to general incredulity I'm glad to say)

pandemic, Wednesday, 30 January 2013 13:22 (thirteen years ago)

QPR have now kept four clean sheets in January, two against Chelsea and Spurs. Put a bit more attacking talent in that team now and I genuinely believe they could stay up.

Matt DC, Wednesday, 30 January 2013 13:24 (thirteen years ago)

And City, durr.

Matt DC, Wednesday, 30 January 2013 13:25 (thirteen years ago)

I haven't watched QPR since the LFC game but I thought they'd kept clean sheets by taking the attacking talent out of the team?

pandemic, Wednesday, 30 January 2013 13:29 (thirteen years ago)

yeah certainly to some extent but that doesn't automatically result in defenders remembering how to defend (onuoha is back) and cesar bossing it like the old days. training ground work is def being done

can't really speculate on what arry's plan is for getting the attack going (and what that might do to the defence) until the players come in

r|t|c, Wednesday, 30 January 2013 13:35 (thirteen years ago)

lfc game first half was probably the worst rangers performance i have ever seen in my entire life

r|t|c, Wednesday, 30 January 2013 13:36 (thirteen years ago)

Have you got a handy balance sheet of your ins and outs? I can't keep up.

Reading trying to hijack the Ince deal apparently. And Butland's turned down Chelsea.

Ismael Klata, Wednesday, 30 January 2013 13:37 (thirteen years ago)

8m for ince is a bit yikes

r|t|c, Wednesday, 30 January 2013 13:39 (thirteen years ago)

Excited. This could be the last defining match of our season - is it gonna be a best-of-mid-table year, or an actual challenge for fifth the top four?

(It's the latter, fyi)
