thought this was a good episode, liked salma's metrocard line

this was a very solid ep. i think where it fell falt was in its linearity? i loved the liz/dr baird plot but it was a bit too, well, plot-like and took time away from jenna! also ugh the jack/salma hayek needs to end.

OTFM. also the guest stars. and let's have less everyone telling Mrs Hayek she's hot. the world has known this for more than a decade now and its taking up time that could have actual jokes in it.

I was watching a few season 1 episodes last week on netflix, and they were really, really good. Like amazingly good. I was in fits. The writing, acting, everything, was so tight back then. Still a great show, but man that first season was special.

Ha, funny you should say that b/c I am killing my Friday night (under the weather, ugh) with chicken soup, oranges, and 30 Rock season 01. You're right, it kills over and over again. I haven't seen these in a couple years, so it does put the past two seasons in perspective. While it hasn't gone downhill, per se, the show rarely hits the consistent highs of S1. I'd rank the latest episode as being almost if not on par with S1, though.

I still think the reunion was the best ep of this season, but last night's was close.

it's still good but ehh not as good as the first two seasons. there is too much jack imo, and the salma stuff especially isn't working for me. this might be owing to unfamiliarity with the telenovela form but anyway, not feelin. the tracy stuff this week was a++ though.

also liz: '*i'm* the generalissimo' / hamm: '*i don't know what that means*'.

i think the only problem is that things like 'lol spanish language tele' is just another sitcom filler episode idea (off my head arrested development and friends have done it) and it seems more and more just like another sitcom. One of the funniest on television though, and it's pretty much just setting standards too high after that excellent first season.
