Dark Archie:

In one story, mirroring the George Orwell novel 1984, we see the serious side of Reggie. His father has printed a story about U. S. government waste and incompetence, in a complicated matter dealing with Mr. Lodge's companies; and a judge, apparently acting under pressure from military brass, ordered Reggie's dad jailed until he reveals his source. Reggie is furious and looks for a way to get his father released. The opportunity presents itself in the form of a contact between the judge and his pretty young secretary. Reggie has a camera, and snaps a picture, telling the judge he'll get it printed unless the judge releases the elder Mantle.

thought this was a good episode, liked salma's metrocard line

congratulations (n/a), Friday, 6 February 2009 15:42 (seventeen years ago)

this was a very solid ep. i think where it fell falt was in its linearity? i loved the liz/dr baird plot but it was a bit too, well, plot-like and took time away from jenna! also ugh the jack/salma hayek needs to end.

again, still plenty of lols

that episode was weak! liz and jack are taking up too much plot!

OTFM. also the guest stars. and let's have less everyone telling Mrs Hayek she's hot. the world has known this for more than a decade now and its taking up time that could have actual jokes in it.

Adam Bruneau, Saturday, 7 February 2009 01:19 (seventeen years ago)

It's weird how the entire show loses momentum the very second Hayek appears on camera.

so liz lemon feels guilt about getting a flu shot just a few episodes ago and now she's a maniacal soap opera villainess.

which season is this, the 10th?

Adam Bruneau, Saturday, 7 February 2009 01:58 (seventeen years ago)

I think we LOL'd more at this episode than any other to date. The thought of the Generalissimo strapping dynamite to that kid's head still gets me.

Now I know why they did the Night Court episode, because this show is turning into an 80s sitcom.

I was watching a few season 1 episodes last week on netflix, and they were really, really good. Like amazingly good. I was in fits. The writing, acting, everything, was so tight back then. Still a great show, but man that first season was special.

Super Cub, Saturday, 7 February 2009 03:50 (seventeen years ago)

Ha, funny you should say that b/c I am killing my Friday night (under the weather, ugh) with chicken soup, oranges, and 30 Rock season 01. You're right, it kills over and over again. I haven't seen these in a couple years, so it does put the past two seasons in perspective. While it hasn't gone downhill, per se, the show rarely hits the consistent highs of S1. I'd rank the latest episode as being almost if not on par with S1, though.

Ricky Apples (Pillbox), Saturday, 7 February 2009 04:00 (seventeen years ago)

I still think the reunion was the best ep of this season, but last night's was close.

..for the first time since the '86 World Series, I cried. I cried like a big, dumb homo. And if were up to me, we'd be together forever. But there's a new thing called "Women's Liberation" [makes quote gesture with fingers], which gives you women the right to choose & you have chosen to abort me, and that I must live with..

Ricky Apples (Pillbox), Saturday, 7 February 2009 04:43 (seventeen years ago)

It's like my cousin Teddy's dog. Sometimes he just doesn't want to lick my feet. So what I do is, I hide my feet from him for a couple days, & when he sees em, he goes bananas.
