"But he wasn’t completely safe. A train came roaring into the station and cut off his leg."

what the fuck??

Yo! MTV La Tengo (Stevie D(eux)), Wednesday, 23 January 2013 03:06 (thirteen years ago)

But the master race had long since disappeared from the earth, leaving the ignorant and malicious deros in control of the great cities and wonderful machines it had built.

this is actually a pretty good description of ny state politics

Think this is worst weather of the year.

Area 'Leg Man' (CompuPost), Wednesday, 27 February 2013 15:40 (thirteen years ago)

iatee, Wednesday, 27 February 2013 15:42 (thirteen years ago)

Will take much colder weather and/or snow over this in a heartbeat. Absolutely nothing worse than almost-freezing rain + crazy winds.

Area 'Leg Man' (CompuPost), Wednesday, 27 February 2013 16:18 (thirteen years ago)

I want the D

乒乓, Wednesday, 27 February 2013 16:26 (thirteen years ago)

the combination of humidity + cold is awful, of course. the dampness seeps into your bones. says there's gonna be a high of 59 today but of course it's going to feel like much less.

乒乓, Wednesday, 27 February 2013 16:27 (thirteen years ago)

damn, it's gonna feel like low-to-mid 50s? hope u survive

Can't wait to not be able to see the map bcz some rural tourist is too busy playing with it

touchscreens aren't as expensive as they used to be / can be monetized w/ ads / these aren't gonna be placed in the boonies

iatee, Wednesday, 10 April 2013 16:04 (thirteen years ago)

the one in grand central is nice

iatee, Wednesday, 10 April 2013 16:05 (thirteen years ago)

yeah you'd probably find this in times / union / herald square etc., not like the rockaways

Pope Rusty I (Dr Morbius), Thursday, 25 April 2013 21:31 (thirteen years ago)

i wonder how often they need to print out and update subway maps, and how much work it takes

hoda nkotb (Stevie D(eux)), Thursday, 25 April 2013 21:32 (thirteen years ago)

less than once a year, a decent amount of work but I don't think this was ever modified on the map

iatee, Thursday, 25 April 2013 23:26 (thirteen years ago)

absolutely not, anything closed < 4 years is considered open.

Pope Rusty I (Dr Morbius), Thursday, 25 April 2013 23:44 (thirteen years ago)

E train. Ugh.

Blue Yodel No. 9 Dream (James Redd and the Blecchs), Wednesday, 1 May 2013 13:24 (thirteen years ago)

what's up with the E train? Mine was fine this morning.

huun huurt 2 (Hurting 2), Wednesday, 1 May 2013 14:17 (thirteen years ago)

What time were you on it? I got on it later than I'd like to around 8 and it was really slow, let the M train go first at Queens Plaza -I hate it when that happens!- and it finally crawled to W4 where it just stopped and they told us to take the A which of course was packed. Walked over to Houston and 7 and took the 1 instead.

Blue Yodel No. 9 Dream (James Redd and the Blecchs), Wednesday, 1 May 2013 14:42 (thirteen years ago)

I caught it around 9:10. Actually ran faster than usual. It's a nice train when it runs smooth on those long straightaways between stops. But yeah most mornings I have at least slight delays -- waiting for the M to leave, too close behind the F, etc.

huun huurt 2 (Hurting 2), Wednesday, 1 May 2013 14:56 (thirteen years ago)

Ah so you finessed it by going in on the late side. One think I miss about my one month going to Kew Gardens is the reverse commute.

Blue Yodel No. 9 Dream (James Redd and the Blecchs), Wednesday, 1 May 2013 15:36 (thirteen years ago)

http://www.capitalnewyork.com/article/politics/2013/05/8529572/report-g-train-outshines-reputation-l-train-disappoints-hurricane-s

The F train, however, had the most delays overall, totalling a whopping 225 in 2012.

that's it, i'm walking to grand street from now on
