lemmy's rabbles (darraghmac), Tuesday, 22 January 2013 09:05 (thirteen years ago)

i don't know if "more hours of daylight" necessarily tallies with "brighter" even in the strict meteorologico-luminescent sense.

you jelly like bitter lemon (Noodle Vague), Tuesday, 22 January 2013 09:27 (thirteen years ago)

we had the same fortune cookie :)

i really wanted to drink today. i didn't know what else to do, felt so empty and sad and planless. i didn't get drunk. yay victory. i don't feel much happier but i'm sober and no poorer.

8 days til detox. feel mostly zombie-esque.

pre-emptively sorry to everybody i've ever been a cunt to for no good reason. i dunno, maybe a bit of friction between people is okay. but save it for a good reason i guess.

thx, go in peace my son

why's my head so heavy? why do i wanna sleep 15 hours a day? not unhappy, just hardly here, irked but amused at moral/aesthetic realists but don't wanna start a war want to give them the lotus breakfast so's they can let go the big words that make us all so listy-statisty

the snow and ice all gone feels like the shackles off my ankles and not wearing crunch-boots is a simple joy in itself

my head's a jalopy ha challopy jalopy

Hermann Hesher (Noodle Vague), Monday, 28 January 2013 09:22 (thirteen years ago)

jayz i need a worker-disguise today whoops

Hermann Hesher (Noodle Vague), Monday, 28 January 2013 09:22 (thirteen years ago)

A strange delusion possesses the working classes of the nations where capitalist civilization holds its sway. This delusion drags in its train the individual and social woes which for two centuries have tortured sad humanity. This delusion is the love of work, the furious passion for work, pushed even to the exhaustion of the vital force of the individual and his progeny. Instead of opposing this mental aberration, the priests, the economists and the moralists have cast a sacred halo over work. Blind and finite men, they have wished to be wiser than their God; weak and contemptible men, they have presumed to rehabilitate what their God had cursed. I, who do not profess to be a Christian, an economist or a moralist, I appeal from their judgement to that of their God; from the preachings of their religious, economics or free thought ethics, to the frightful consequences of work in capitalist society.

Hermann Hesher (Noodle Vague), Wednesday, 30 January 2013 10:31 (thirteen years ago)

In reality, when we curse death we only fear ourselves: The
severity of our will is what makes us tremble. We lie to ourselves
when we dream of escaping the movement of luxurious exuberance
of which we are only the most intense form. Or perhaps we
only lie to ourselves in the beginning the better to experience
the severity of this will afterward, carrying it to the rigorous
extreme of consciousness.

i will miss the blue-skyed clarity of hangovers, i will miss the tenuous telepathy of mornings like this where i can see something just inside everybody i pass, even tho if i have to engage one-to-one there's this fog like my glasses are inch-thick with grime and the words come out a little bit out of sync like on digital TV sometime.

i was afraid if i stopped drinking i'd become everything i despise and while i was concentrating on that it happened anyway, on the sly like.

i will miss my underbelly brothers and sisters and morning boozers and pubs nobody who cares what anybody thinks about them wd ever visit, i will miss being wobbly and enlightened at 3 in the afternoon in the not quite warm enough windshine of a beer terrace next the main road. i will miss polite chit-chat that turns into the threat of a fist-fight at random. i will miss rolling my own.

i'll miss this pitiful bullshit artist manning the controls.

but maybe not that much.

Hermann Hesher (Noodle Vague), Friday, 1 February 2013 11:43 (thirteen years ago)

Re the fistfight thing, surely there's parts of town everywhere where that threat exists sober

We must not be misunderstood. By the man in the moon we do not mean any public tavern, or gin-palace, displaying that singular sign. The last inn of that name known to us in London stands in a narrow passage of that fashionable promenade called Regent Street, close to Piccadilly. Nor do we intend by the man in the moon the silvery individual who pays the election expenses, so long as the elector votes his ticket. Neither do we mean the mooney, or mad fellow who is too fond of the cup which cheers and then inebriates; nor even one who goes mooning round the world without a plan or purpose. No; if we are not too scientific, we are too straightforward to be allured by any such false lights as these. By the man in the moon we mean none other than that illustrious personage, whose shining countenance may be beheld many a night, clouds and fogs permitting, beaming good-naturedly on the dark earth, and singing, in the language of a lyric bard,

"The moon is out to-night, love,
Meet me with a smile."
