Some of those heads don't look right. Like they're photo-shopped on. I never took Neil Lennon for a big head but it's twice the size of Hughton's.

anyone fancy a job?

A global creative agency that grows brands and creates extraordinary campaigns for huge clients is looking for a social media reporter to engage and grown their football client’s social media community, by following one of the biggest football icons/megastars around the world. You don’t have to live in Barcelona but you must be willing to move there as this will be your base.

roman abramovitsch...john terry...damon albarn...your boys took one hell of a drawing

jabba hands, Wednesday, 16 January 2013 21:42 (thirteen years ago)

Didn't see a second of it, but assists for Clyne and Shaw makes me v happy indeed. Specially if, as sounds the case, Shaw's one came from one of his big fuck-off runs down the left, which are awesome.

Imagine if Puncheon for England becomes a thing. True, he's probably behind Nathan Dyer in the queue at the very least, but just IMAGINE.

William Bloody Swygart, Wednesday, 16 January 2013 21:44 (thirteen years ago)

oh man wait till you see the 2nd goal! epic run from shaw and the finish was a beaut. punch prob our most influential player atm? we were well worth the point, had lots of meandering possession in the first half and then as soon we put a couple of quick balls into the box, we score twice. and chaplow came on - truly a memorable night.

Heterocyclic ring ring (LocalGarda), Wednesday, 16 January 2013 22:37 (thirteen years ago)

Speaking to the club's official website, Remy revealed a four-hour talk with Fernandes regarding his future ended in a game of FIFA 12, sealing the deal at Loftus Road.

"It was a special moment that followed our chat about QPR," Remy said.

"We just played a game of FIFA - it was good and showed to me what a good person Tony is.

"He showed his human side to me as an owner of the club I wanted to join. It was a special moment for us both."

Meanwhile Bobby Zamora is still eating in his car. Shivering now, probably.

Matt DC, Thursday, 17 January 2013 12:07 (thirteen years ago)

Shearer quotes around today questioning Remy's motives. He thinks it might've come down to money.

Ismael Klata, Thursday, 17 January 2013 12:09 (thirteen years ago)

Eat your chicken and beans, Shearer.

Heterocyclic ring ring (LocalGarda), Thursday, 17 January 2013 12:15 (thirteen years ago)

Shearer never negotiated a contract in his life, when he moved to Blackburn all he got was twenty-four guilders and a box of coloured beads.

Ismael Klata, Thursday, 17 January 2013 12:18 (thirteen years ago)

That were twice as many as Chris Sutton and three times as many as Stuart Ripley though.

Matt DC, Thursday, 17 January 2013 12:19 (thirteen years ago)

Didn't know we were born.

Matt DC, Thursday, 17 January 2013 12:19 (thirteen years ago)

He wore umbro all his career because they were the only boots in his local sports shop that he could afford.

Ismael Klata, Thursday, 17 January 2013 12:19 (thirteen years ago)

He doesn't know that Hansen's on £1.5m a year for motd. In fact he doesn't even know it's a tv show - he thinks Gary just likes having him round on a Saturday night to watch the footy.

Ismael Klata, Thursday, 17 January 2013 12:21 (thirteen years ago)

Just idly wondering, do Remy and M'Vila have the same agent?

Matt DC, Thursday, 17 January 2013 12:30 (thirteen years ago)

google says no

Number None, Thursday, 17 January 2013 12:34 (thirteen years ago)

it does say willie mckay had a hand in the remy deal though, quelle surprise

r|t|c, Thursday, 17 January 2013 12:37 (thirteen years ago)

LOIC REMY snubbed the chance to see what Newcastle United had to offer – in favour of a lie-in.

The 26-year-old France international, who completed his move to Queens Park Rangers yesterday, had been offered a full-works tour of St James’ Park and the city as well as a look around the training facilities at the club’s Benton base on Tuesday.

But, rather than take a flight to Tyneside, the Chronicle understands he opted to stay in bed until lunchtime before taking in the sights of the capital.

r|t|c, Thursday, 17 January 2013 12:38 (thirteen years ago)

These are golden opportunities for agents though - whack your player into a probably-soon-to-be-relegated club for ridiculous wages, hope they impress in the Premiership and then pocket the change as they transfer to another Premiership team for even madder wages. It's like Tevez and Mascherano without the ownership fannydangle.

Matt DC, Thursday, 17 January 2013 12:57 (thirteen years ago)

seeing as how Matt Jarvis has got an England cap the least they can do is give Puncheon a couple

non-elitist melted poo (Noodle Vague), Thursday, 17 January 2013 13:59 (thirteen years ago)

"The other day a ball hit my hand with no intention at all and everybody criticised me because I kissed my wrist. Suárez sells."

r|t|c, Thursday, 17 January 2013 14:50 (thirteen years ago)

love that

r|t|c, Thursday, 17 January 2013 14:51 (thirteen years ago)

Maybe something's lost in the translation, but he didn't see to make a very coherent argument. IIRC it was something like "it's not fair, they call me a cheat and say I dive, like that time at Stoke, except I did dive there because we were drawing and I wanted us to win, but anyway it's not fair."

A Yawning Chasm (Nasty, Brutish & Short), Thursday, 17 January 2013 15:48 (thirteen years ago)

Hmmmmmm.....Reacting to the remarks, Rodgers said Suárez had expressed "unacceptable" views, and the situation would be "dealt with internally … Diving is not something we advocate. Our ethics are correct."

A Yawning Chasm (Nasty, Brutish & Short), Thursday, 17 January 2013 15:51 (thirteen years ago)

I don't know if you're trying to suggest some inconsistency here, but as I saw it reported, he's being disciplined for admitting to diving, not for diving itself.

Ismael Klata, Thursday, 17 January 2013 15:59 (thirteen years ago)

No, I think it's fair enough for Rodgers to say that, I was more wondering what the paranoid RAWK-types would make of that announcement.

A Yawning Chasm (Nasty, Brutish & Short), Thursday, 17 January 2013 16:02 (thirteen years ago)

hmmm

It's bullshit for the club to punish him for admitting to something they'd already known he'd done.

lemmy's rabbles (darraghmac), Thursday, 17 January 2013 16:03 (thirteen years ago)

Talking about it and removing all public doubt* is pretty dumb, what are Liverpool supposed to do, just go "aah we'll let you get away with it"?

*Yeah I know...

Matt DC, Thursday, 17 January 2013 16:07 (thirteen years ago)

Had a quick look at RAWK and there are arguments raging there between the two sides, but I liked this post best:
Can't wait 'til Suarez scores and dives in front of Rodgers.

A Yawning Chasm (Nasty, Brutish & Short), Thursday, 17 January 2013 16:08 (thirteen years ago)

tbf to the lad he's still lying about the handball v Mansfield so he's at least partially on-message

non-elitist melted poo (Noodle Vague), Thursday, 17 January 2013 16:09 (thirteen years ago)

non-story really.

Heterocyclic ring ring (LocalGarda), Thursday, 17 January 2013 16:09 (thirteen years ago)

It might well be unacceptable Brendan, but so is hanging one of your players out to dry, before even the authorities have been asked to deal with it.

At this point Brendan, and after all of the shite Luis has had to put up with this last year, if those quotes are actually genuine and from you, this is the point that you are dead to me.

Number None, Thursday, 17 January 2013 17:46 (thirteen years ago)

must be shite having to put up with being a diving racist

non-elitist melted poo (Noodle Vague), Thursday, 17 January 2013 22:20 (thirteen years ago)

non-elitist melted poo (Noodle Vague), Thursday, 17 January 2013 22:29 (thirteen years ago)

OK, it must be mildly annoying having to put up with being a diving racist

Troughton-masked Replicant (aldo), Thursday, 17 January 2013 22:31 (thirteen years ago)

"Cavani is a player that I like," said Wenger. "Will he cost a lot of money? That's for sure. Nobody would deny that. Our banker lives just next to me at the moment and he is ready if we find the right player."

Number None, Friday, 18 January 2013 00:00 (thirteen years ago)

not sure i approve of a banker liking the same players i do
