i really find self-recording of vocals is really difficult for a number of reasons, not least of which is the objectivity factor

Aye, I hate the sound of me own voice tho I am getting better at being ok with it/working out what style works for me. Still trying to find that Guthrie-esque sweet spot with chorusy vox but I have NFI what Im doing, so.

w/ chorus on voc i find (personally) that it is best employed as a modulation on the reverb or delay rather than on the vocal itself. gives it a nice liquid quality.
