LOL that's definitely closer to the truth, but Lindsay probably doesn't see it that way.

i was thinking today that Emma Stone is basically enjoying the career that Lohan should have had

ES is better than LL, though, so the "should"s and "stolen"s are not a good way to put it.

^^^ very OTM

Solange Knowles is my hero (DJP), Friday, 11 January 2013 17:10 (thirteen years ago)

it's not quite the Tom Hanks/Steve Guttenberg parallel one might think it is

Solange Knowles is my hero (DJP), Friday, 11 January 2013 17:10 (thirteen years ago)

i haven't seen anything with Emma Stone in it i don't think

surm, Friday, 11 January 2013 17:18 (thirteen years ago)

wait wait are we suggesting that steve guttenberg was robbed

da croupier, Friday, 11 January 2013 17:19 (thirteen years ago)

she has basically been great in everything I've seen her in, including:

Easy A
The Help
Zombieland
Crazy, Stupid, Love
Superbad
The Amazing Spider-Man

also "Tom Hanks stole Steve Guttenberg's career" is an old, old joke

Solange Knowles is my hero (DJP), Friday, 11 January 2013 17:20 (thirteen years ago)

she was super adorable in Crazy Stupid Love

set the controls for the heart of the sun (VegemiteGrrl), Friday, 11 January 2013 17:20 (thirteen years ago)

god help me I really liked that movie

set the controls for the heart of the sun (VegemiteGrrl), Friday, 11 January 2013 17:21 (thirteen years ago)

which one was the one with Gosling? i saw a few minutes on TV and she made me laugh

surm, Friday, 11 January 2013 17:21 (thirteen years ago)

yeah i've heard the joke, i just was curious if you actually thought they were equally talented or something

da croupier, Friday, 11 January 2013 17:21 (thirteen years ago)

Steve Guttenberg is an angel.

go to party leather (ENBB), Friday, 11 January 2013 17:22 (thirteen years ago)

And I love Emma Stone and liked Crazy, Stupid, Love up to a point but then it got really dumb really fast and Easy A was not as good as I thought it would be the end.

go to party leather (ENBB), Friday, 11 January 2013 17:23 (thirteen years ago)

CSL definitely got more In every rom com ever as it went on, though it had some moments. Easy A is great imo.

trey songza (some dude), Friday, 11 January 2013 17:31 (thirteen years ago)

Yeah, I think maybe that was it. CSL has the potential to be a totally different movie and then it just all went bad at some point but Gosling did say "schwantz" a lot which is always funny and she was, in fact, great. I wasn't really paying attention to Easy A but it just didn't grab my attention at all.

go to party leather (ENBB), Friday, 11 January 2013 17:32 (thirteen years ago)

xxpost surm Crazy Stupid Love was the one with gosling; you should try that out and see if you fall in love with Emma

❏❐❑❒ (gr8080), Friday, 11 January 2013 20:13 (thirteen years ago)

oh well

lex pretend, Friday, 11 January 2013 20:14 (thirteen years ago)

honestly the concept of a james deen LL love scene might be too much for my brain to handle

surm, Friday, 11 January 2013 20:22 (thirteen years ago)

I think Ellis puts him into a scene with a dude in this (via LL's character).

Chief Duff (Eazy), Friday, 11 January 2013 22:01 (thirteen years ago)

O_o

surm, Friday, 11 January 2013 22:35 (thirteen years ago)

as a guy who's been a huge schrader fan for a long time, i feel slightly terrible for him, but hes such a perfect comic figure in this

Yep... and he's still about 1,000,000 times more important than this sad little starlet, ain't he?

There's nothing new about Lohan and her ilk, only the details change.

saltwater incursion (Dr Morbius), Monday, 14 January 2013 02:53 (thirteen years ago)

Who was the precursor to Lohan? The only name that comes to mind is Culkin.

It's weird because circa Mean Girls, you'd think she'd be the next Jodie Foster.

set the controls for the heart of the sun (VegemiteGrrl), Monday, 14 January 2013 03:59 (thirteen years ago)

so when is this thing coming out?

licorice oratorio (baaderonixx), Monday, 14 January 2013 08:42 (thirteen years ago)

just to say that ES's "it's decaffeinated" bit in CSL is way better than anything LiLo has ever done or could conceivably do.

Gukbe, Monday, 14 January 2013 08:47 (thirteen years ago)

As '70s screenwriters turned directors in need of redemption go, I'd much rather Robert Towne get another shot than Paul Schrader. He had his second chance already with "Affliction" and "Auto Focus."

Josh in Chicago, Monday, 14 January 2013 14:57 (thirteen years ago)

Who was the precursor to Lohan?

read a hundred-years history of Hollywood and get back to me.

saltwater incursion (Dr Morbius), Monday, 14 January 2013 15:25 (thirteen years ago)

Oh boy, a homework assignment from Professor Morbius.

Jah Creature (WilliamC), Monday, 14 January 2013 15:41 (thirteen years ago)

buzza, Monday, 14 January 2013 16:03 (thirteen years ago)

Factual mistake in that article when writer says LL was best thing in Altman's Prairie Home Companion.

(also when Schrader says The Misfits was a great movie)
