Maron talked about it when he was on Mohr's podcast.

Elvis Telecom, Tuesday, 18 December 2012 00:17 (thirteen years ago)

Allen (etaeoe), Tuesday, 18 December 2012 09:22 (thirteen years ago)

Nikki is an American sitcom that aired on The WB from 2000 to 2002. Nikki was a starring vehicle for Nikki Cox, who had previously starred in another WB sitcom, Unhappily Ever After, which ran for five seasons. Looking to capitalize on Cox's popularity, Bruce Helford created a sitcom that featured Cox as the title character.

i don't know if i can bring myself to listen to the Blues Traveler one, unless one of you tells me it's super compelling.

set the controls for the heart of the sun (VegemiteGrrl), Thursday, 27 December 2012 16:43 (thirteen years ago)

just the barest possibility that he will play or even TALK about that fucking harmonica is enough to give me nausea

set the controls for the heart of the sun (VegemiteGrrl), Thursday, 27 December 2012 16:43 (thirteen years ago)

There's some funny bits in it, mostly near the beginning.

Johnny Fever, Thursday, 27 December 2012 17:09 (thirteen years ago)

It wasn't that bad, mostly because the BT guys are huge dorks

President Keyes, Thursday, 27 December 2012 22:19 (thirteen years ago)

I finally listened to the Dylan Moran interview - pretty good! Typically, I got annoyed that Maron kept harping on the Catholic abuse thing - DUDE THEY DID THE SAME THING HERE IN THE STATES JESUS CHRIST LET IT GO but I thought Moran engaged with the questions really intelligently and he didn't seem as annoyed as I would have been in the same situation

anyway I just love hearing Moran talk at length so I was happy

set the controls for the heart of the sun (VegemiteGrrl), Thursday, 27 December 2012 22:22 (thirteen years ago)

When they were talking about don delillo i was picturing maron shouting at a copy of cosmopolis, "goddamn it, tell me how to live!"

President Keyes, Thursday, 27 December 2012 22:31 (thirteen years ago)

DUDE THEY DID THE SAME THING HERE IN THE STATES JESUS CHRIST LET IT GO

Catholic church integration into everyday life just might be a smidgen higher in Ireland, maybe

( ͡° ͜ʖ͡°) (sic), Thursday, 27 December 2012 23:15 (thirteen years ago)

oh I know, it just...the way he kept asking about it annoyed me. esp since Moran said he didn't grow up catholic and yet is being called on to act as emmissary for the entire catholic population :)

set the controls for the heart of the sun (VegemiteGrrl), Thursday, 27 December 2012 23:20 (thirteen years ago)

actually I misread Maron as Moran in your post, makes sense now

( ͡° ͜ʖ͡°) (sic), Friday, 28 December 2012 01:18 (thirteen years ago)

ha :)

set the controls for the heart of the sun (VegemiteGrrl), Friday, 28 December 2012 03:13 (thirteen years ago)

smh first sentence uttered in the Katz interview, "I have to play my vinyl records because there is integrity to them, authenticity."

President Keyes, Friday, 28 December 2012 11:01 (thirteen years ago)

wow maron brought in the katz

fanute me or shoot me (some dude), Friday, 28 December 2012 12:24 (thirteen years ago)

If Maron had any authenticity and integrity, his podcasts would be recorded on wire spools and sent to each individual listener via carrier pigeon.

Tarfumes The Escape Goat, Friday, 28 December 2012 15:00 (thirteen years ago)

Where is Donald Fagan's anger?

President Keyes, Friday, 28 December 2012 16:58 (thirteen years ago)

I thought he would have dug Steely Dan

But he has a blues based cock

President Keyes, Friday, 28 December 2012 18:34 (thirteen years ago)

Moran or Maron?

Poor Stephen.

Johnny Fever, Friday, 28 December 2012 19:11 (thirteen years ago)

lol oh wait I was confusing Maron and Moran, never mind

Michael Keaton curses like a sailor.

Johnny Fever, Thursday, 3 January 2013 18:29 (thirteen years ago)

It's fascinating how it took him so long to "get" the Beetlejuice character, but that when he finally did he really did.

Johnny Fever, Thursday, 3 January 2013 19:45 (thirteen years ago)

I can't wait to listen to this

set the controls for the heart of the sun (VegemiteGrrl), Thursday, 3 January 2013 19:47 (thirteen years ago)

That was a really good one. Keaton has lots to say for a guy who doesn't talk much.

Johnny Fever, Thursday, 3 January 2013 20:03 (thirteen years ago)

(I mean he actually talks a lot (A LOT!) but rarely does any media.)

Johnny Fever, Thursday, 3 January 2013 20:04 (thirteen years ago)

mere minutes into that interview & i'm grinning like a loon

it's him! it's really him

set the controls for the heart of the sun (VegemiteGrrl), Thursday, 3 January 2013 20:46 (thirteen years ago)

I don't know why I didn't know he was from Pittsburgh? He sure sounds like it once he really starts talking

set the controls for the heart of the sun (VegemiteGrrl), Thursday, 3 January 2013 21:34 (thirteen years ago)

Man, this was one of those conversations where Marc really slots in with somebody and they just go.

"It's the Stay-Puft Marshmallow Drunk!" (kingfish), Thursday, 3 January 2013 21:52 (thirteen years ago)

totally!

set the controls for the heart of the sun (VegemiteGrrl), Thursday, 3 January 2013 21:52 (thirteen years ago)

Best one in quite some time.

EZ Snappin, Thursday, 3 January 2013 22:23 (thirteen years ago)

Yeah it feels like a more relaxed version of the Robin Williams interview. Such a great flow, no real prodding needed, just a little air traffic control here and there to wave him on-course.

set the controls for the heart of the sun (VegemiteGrrl), Thursday, 3 January 2013 22:28 (thirteen years ago)

Nice, I am so looking forward to this, thanks for the flag. I sorta lost track of/got tired with this podcast when he started interviewing musicians, so seems a good time to dive back in.

Chuck_Tatum, Friday, 4 January 2013 12:26 (thirteen years ago)

Could've written that exact post myself.

jaymc, Friday, 4 January 2013 13:47 (thirteen years ago)

Dave Alvin episode is still a good one though.

Elvis Telecom, Saturday, 5 January 2013 02:34 (thirteen years ago)

Just starting the Seth Green one right now (love him) and Elizabeth Banks and Dave Grohl next week. Good little run.

Johnny Fever, Thursday, 10 January 2013 19:19 (thirteen years ago)

psyched for Grohl. (wincingly psyched, granted)

set the controls for the heart of the sun (VegemiteGrrl), Thursday, 10 January 2013 19:37 (thirteen years ago)

I was surprised by the Blues Traveller one being fun but surely there's no reason to listen to Jakob Dylan ep?
