Cocaine?

Jordan (Jordan), Thursday, 27 April 2006 18:04 (twenty years ago)

dear god, no. i wouldn't either. there was that time i intervened with the pee-bottle-toting man who told me i had small-ass titties, but that's because he was bothering a little kid.

jesse, i think i only noticed that because you share all of your shopping adventures with us. i don't usually mention stuff like that. if anyone cares, i bought a quality foundation garment the other day and guess what -- it roolz!

The Milkmaid (82375538-A) (The Milkmaid), Thursday, 27 April 2006 18:04 (twenty years ago)

Oh! I think this is directed to Kenan mostly....but would someone PLEASE help me out with installing my A/C unit within the next week? It involves a little heavy lifting (not too bad) but mostly I need someone to hold the window open while I position the unit and secure it. Not hard, and I'll buy you a beer.

I think Kenan is the best candidate b/c Jeff has already done enough lifting in this apt., girls are week, John---well, John, come on, can you imagine? And the rest of you I don't know it that way.

Ha ha. As I posted that I thought of that too!

No. I'll tell you all later when it arrives and I can see if it makes me happy.

Whispy Fandango Triphop (unclejessjess), Thursday, 27 April 2006 18:07 (twenty years ago)

Jesse -- I'll drop by this weekend and help you out. Saturday or Sunday, maybe?

Man Man (kenan), Thursday, 27 April 2006 18:09 (twenty years ago)

Better make FIRM PLANS with this guy.

The Milkmaid (82375538-A) (The Milkmaid), Thursday, 27 April 2006 18:10 (twenty years ago)

STFU

xpost--Sunday afternoon? I'm going to Patrick's show that evening. You should come with me.

Whispy Fandango Triphop (unclejessjess), Thursday, 27 April 2006 18:14 (twenty years ago)

I wasn't mocking you (although it may have sounded like it) -- I agree with you that people should be more specific if they're going to waffle on plans. I hate being stood up.

The Milkmaid (82375538-A) (The Milkmaid), Thursday, 27 April 2006 18:17 (twenty years ago)

(xp) I don't trust him. Why does he like teh Latinos so much?

jaymc (jaymc), Thursday, 27 April 2006 18:17 (twenty years ago)

Oh shit, I had a small train adventure yesterday that I totally forgot about due to my floppy-lipped-numb-but-yet-totally-achey state.

Got on the brown line and switched to red at Belmont. There were four or five African American kids on the train being a little rowdy but nowhere near as obnoxious as I've seen kids (or Cubs fans, for that matter) get. Like a 4.5 on a 1-10 scare of obnoxiousness, 1 being reading quietly and 10 being excreting waste publicly on the train. One had drum sticks and was getting on my nerves with them but not to the point that I would switch cars. Anyway, they got off at Addison and like ten seconds later, about 8 CPDs get on the train. One asks "Did you see anybody playing with himself on this train?" And I hadn't so I shook my head (still couldn't really talk) but behind me, a cop asked someone else the same question and she said, "Yeah, they just got off and ran downstairs" and I thought, OH SHIT one of those kids whipped it out on the train? No kidding! And someone next to the lady said, "No, those kids weren't playing with themselves" and she said, "Yeah, he was playing with drum sticks!" and the cop (who was near if not past retirement age) said, "NO! DID YOU SEE ANYBODY MASTURBATING ON THIS TRAIN???!??!?!?" and the lady was like, "Oh! No! No, he wasn't masturbating!"

And I laughed and then drooled on myself a little, because of COURSE the cops had to have been looking for the level 4.5 obnoxious black male pre-teens!! DUH!

So the cops all left the train and a CTA personnel said, "What are you guys doing up here? We got the report about the guy exposing himself at 35th almost a half hour ago! It's on the south side!"

And then I drooled some more. The end.

Holy makkara, Toivo! (OutDatWay), Thursday, 27 April 2006 18:26 (twenty years ago)

Also, I was really hoping it was going to be a sticks/dicks mix-up, there.

Holy makkara, Toivo! (OutDatWay), Thursday, 27 April 2006 18:27 (twenty years ago)

Wow. Well, I suppose it's nice to know that no less than 8(!) cops will show up next time an unwanted penis harasses me.

jonviachicago (jonviachicago), Thursday, 27 April 2006 18:28 (twenty years ago)

Me too, Dan.

Jordan (Jordan), Thursday, 27 April 2006 18:29 (twenty years ago)

Whispy Fandango Triphop (unclejessjess), Thursday, 27 April 2006 18:29 (twenty years ago)

there's this dude on the blue line i see everyday who looks EXACTLY like r. crumb. and he STARES at any remotely attractive woman on the train. he freaks me the hell out.

otto midnight (otto midnight), Thursday, 27 April 2006 18:30 (twenty years ago)

"I told you the first time, they're beating on those sticks!"

Holy makkara, Toivo! (OutDatWay), Thursday, 27 April 2006 18:30 (twenty years ago)

Also, Kenan? Do you want to ride bikes sometime? Jeff? Jenny? Timmy? Bobby?

I'm wanting to ride around the area between the Kennedy, UK Village, Wicker Park and Ashland.

Whispy Fandango Triphop (unclejessjess), Thursday, 27 April 2006 18:30 (twenty years ago)

waffle plex (kenan), Thursday, 27 April 2006 18:37 (twenty years ago)

You want to ride your bike in *my* neighborhood? I want to ride in yours!

Man Man (kenan), Thursday, 27 April 2006 18:38 (twenty years ago)

Grass, always greener, etc.

Man Man (kenan), Thursday, 27 April 2006 18:38 (twenty years ago)

I want a bike.

jonviachicago (jonviachicago), Thursday, 27 April 2006 18:40 (twenty years ago)

img source? whatty what?

I just want to check out the neighborhood. Mine is better for the riding, but I kinda have this notion in my head of living somewhere else.... I can't believe I just said that aloud. Well, I guess I didn't.

Whispy Fandango Triphop (unclejessjess), Thursday, 27 April 2006 18:42 (twenty years ago)

I do not know what anyone is talking about on this thread. Is it UK-only to say dressing gown, then?

Cathy (Cathy), Thursday, 27 April 2006 18:43 (twenty years ago)

i went a loverly bike ride last fall through humboldt park. took pictures of ducks too. bike lanes on augusta, california, and sacramento make it easy to navigate.

otto midnight (otto midnight), Thursday, 27 April 2006 18:47 (twenty years ago)

I don't think any American would ever say dressing gown.... That sounds like something Joan Crawford would wear while getting her makeup done.

Whispy Fandango Triphop (unclejessjess), Thursday, 27 April 2006 19:05 (twenty years ago)

http://www.buttmagazine.com/Issues/13_toiletcleaner.html

from another thread. a german into degradation.

Whispy Fandango Triphop (unclejessjess), Thursday, 27 April 2006 19:08 (twenty years ago)

nah, a dressing gown is very much something Arthur Dent wears while he's watching his house get bulldozed. A 'robe' sounds rather too glamourous to me.

Cathy (Cathy), Thursday, 27 April 2006 19:14 (twenty years ago)

First medicinal wine from a teaspoon, then beer from a bottle!

The Milkmaid (82375538-A) (The Milkmaid), Thursday, 27 April 2006 19:18 (twenty years ago)

there's this dude on the blue line i see everyday who looks EXACTLY like r. crumb. and he STARES at any remotely attractive woman on the train.

Just as I suspect r. crumb would do!

I might say dressing gown occasionally, but only as an affectation. In the US, a robe is what Arthur Dent wears, and a dressing gown is the glamourous article! I have a grubby flannel robe and an awesomely warm zip-up hooded fleece house coat AND I have a house dress that I could never wear to work although I used to wear housepants to my old job a lot.

Finally - I would like to talk about Amanda's quality foundation garment but not in a lurid way. I just need new bras and am wondering if I should branch out from my standard Body by Victoria purchases.

Safety First (pullapartgirl), Thursday, 27 April 2006 19:19 (twenty years ago)

How do you know when a bra is worn out? I mean, men have underwear that gets holey and stretched out and shot but they continue to wear it. Does that kind of thing happen with bras?

Holy makkara, Toivo! (OutDatWay), Thursday, 27 April 2006 19:20 (twenty years ago)

I mean, if the straps fell off or the hook wouldn't close, that'd be obvious.

Holy makkara, Toivo! (OutDatWay), Thursday, 27 April 2006 19:21 (twenty years ago)

ohhhhh, "foundation garment"

Jordan (Jordan), Thursday, 27 April 2006 19:21 (twenty years ago)

Dan, bras get holey and stretched out. Haven't you ever looked in your girlfriend's underwear drawer?

Jordan (Jordan), Thursday, 27 April 2006 19:22 (twenty years ago)

http://www.artspan.com/get_image.php?id=15405

zpost yeah, but not for bras

Holy makkara, Toivo! (OutDatWay), Thursday, 27 April 2006 19:22 (twenty years ago)

KIDDING

Holy makkara, Toivo! (OutDatWay), Thursday, 27 April 2006 19:22 (twenty years ago)

haha

Jordan (Jordan), Thursday, 27 April 2006 19:24 (twenty years ago)

My foundation garment is a little bit lurid. I want to show you, but it's fancy.

The Milkmaid (82375538-A) (The Milkmaid), Thursday, 27 April 2006 19:25 (twenty years ago)

It's true. There are little elastic whiskers trailing off all my bras right now. Also, the padding in my padded bras becomes less useful as it breaks down in the laundry. Also, if you wear them long enough, they can get kind of pit stained (this was real bad when I waited tables). Also, they get less stretchy or dry rot or lose their supportiveness OR the worst is when the underwires pop out out and poke you in the soft part of your underarm. Ouch.

Safety First (pullapartgirl), Thursday, 27 April 2006 19:25 (twenty years ago)

Underarm or boob. That SUCKS.

The Milkmaid (82375538-A) (The Milkmaid), Thursday, 27 April 2006 19:26 (twenty years ago)

Robe? Glamorous? Not in the USA. Dressing gown sounds much fancier. Think bathrobe. Housecoat is very old-lady-ish.

Sometimes when I think of 'dressing gown' I think of Radiohead "Black Star" ("I get home from work and you're still standing in your dressing gown well what am I to do?") Even that seems sort of decadent and extravagent.

Whispy Fandango Triphop (unclejessjess), Thursday, 27 April 2006 19:26 (twenty years ago)

I bought it to wear under dresses, so it's not just a bra. It's a bra+.

The Milkmaid (82375538-A) (The Milkmaid), Thursday, 27 April 2006 19:26 (twenty years ago)

I need an underwear remodel, but I don't want to buy lots of stuff now since I'm fat, but seriously I don't know if my undies will make it through the summer. I guess I just need to get some crystal meth and lose weight real fast.

JUST KIDDING!

Safety First (pullapartgirl), Thursday, 27 April 2006 19:42 (twenty years ago)

I just revisited "faces of meth." Not cute.

The Milkmaid (82375538-A) (The Milkmaid), Thursday, 27 April 2006 19:48 (twenty years ago)

crystal meth and bras kill thread, who would'a thunk

Jordan (Jordan), Thursday, 27 April 2006 19:48 (twenty years ago)

i miss not having a reason to shop at victoria's secret anymore.

otto midnight (otto midnight), Thursday, 27 April 2006 19:52 (twenty years ago)

I mean, if you really miss it, you can go with me. I'm not very exciting, though.

"Do you have this in beige? Great. I'll take three."
