second only to popcorn (or something), Wednesday, 28 November 2012 21:40 (thirteen years ago)

good day for spurs. chelsea, everton, arsenal, and west brom all dropped points.

mizzell, Wednesday, 28 November 2012 21:40 (thirteen years ago)

the only thing i took away from tonight's game is that Rafael is the best right-back in the league

Number None, Wednesday, 28 November 2012 22:00 (thirteen years ago)

didn't see spurs-lfc, will watch it later. heard two accounts - that we were all over them and can be proud of how we played, and that spurs sat back, let us play in front of them and we didn't create much. which is it?

Chris, Wednesday, 28 November 2012 22:14 (thirteen years ago)

first half was spurs apparently, obv i missed it ffs

second half ye swarmed and were prob unlucky not to equalise

bill paxman (darraghmac), Wednesday, 28 November 2012 22:16 (thirteen years ago)

The former Swansea attacker joined the Premier League champions in the summer for £6 million but has struggled to hold down a regular place in the team ahead of the likes of Samir Nasri and David Silva.

But the 46-year-old assistant manager insisted, while Roberto Mancini will listen to the player's concerns, Sinclair still has a role to play as they look to defend their title.

"When a player comes to this club, they are going to have to accept they are not going to play week-in-week-out," he told reporters.

"When we spoke to Scott [Sinclair], he knew what he was coming into - that it was a big, big squad.

"The manager's door is always open to any player if they want to go and play like Adam Johnson did. But he seems happy."

Nilmar Honorato da Silva, Wednesday, 28 November 2012 22:19 (thirteen years ago)

xp. cheers. ah well, same old then.

Chris, Wednesday, 28 November 2012 22:24 (thirteen years ago)

Press: You do realise that with ten minutes to go with the game goalless, you have a £24m signing sitting in the stands. With respect to Jordan Bowery, are you more likely to get a goal from him or Darren Bent?

Paul Lambert: But you can't talk about ifs, buts or maybes. The reality is that we won. That's the game. I'll always make that decision. I'll make an honest judgement who plays.

Press: That's accepted, it's your head on the chopping block if you don't win. But just for the record, what's the problem with Bent?

Paul Lambert: There's no point me saying it again, is there? (Laughs)

Nilmar Honorato da Silva, Wednesday, 28 November 2012 22:26 (thirteen years ago)

some cunt acting

bill paxman (darraghmac), Wednesday, 28 November 2012 22:26 (thirteen years ago)

Gallas has to be the worst defender to make the big clubs/national team of the past 8 years.

Van Horn Street, Wednesday, 28 November 2012 22:44 (thirteen years ago)

aahaha that og is a classic

r|t|c, Wednesday, 28 November 2012 22:54 (thirteen years ago)

bill paxman (darraghmac), Wednesday, 28 November 2012 23:01 (thirteen years ago)

Number None, Wednesday, 28 November 2012 23:02 (thirteen years ago)

8 years is a v specific estimate for gallas, why?

recall he was pretty awes for chelsea before arsenal ruined him, indeed i thought they did better out of the cole swap at the time

r|t|c, Wednesday, 28 November 2012 23:03 (thirteen years ago)

gallas were right good til he cried

bill paxman (darraghmac), Wednesday, 28 November 2012 23:07 (thirteen years ago)

"I like Darren. I've got no problems with Darren Bent," Redknapp said. "I just made a comment that maybe I shouldn't, when I said I think my missus would have scored when he missed a header that day. I can laugh at myself, I don't mind.

“The fans will get behind us at home and make it an intimidating place if we put the effort in,” he added.

“If they see people chasing, running and closing people down then they’ll get behind us.

“If they see people losing the ball and standing around then they are going to get the hump because they’re paying their wages and will think ‘hang on what’s going on here.’

How many of your summer spree d'you think will take the field in Harry's, say, third game in charge?

Ismael Klata, Thursday, 29 November 2012 14:57 (thirteen years ago)

well uh most of them, there's only a handful of the old guard left anyway. mackie's first choice now, hill will stay in til january, faurlin will come in next to mbia if harry feels he can't risk diakite any more, traore will stay in ahead of fabio

the only one that really needs cunting off elsewhere is bosingwa but i doubt he will ever enrage harry as much as he does the fans

r|t|c, Thursday, 29 November 2012 15:22 (thirteen years ago)

Be interesting to see if any of the loaned-out return in Jan. Not Barton, but DJC and Betty Bothroyd, specifically. Bothroyd always looked like there was a good player in there who was being ably suppressed by a cowardly, lazy arsehole.

Manfred Mann meets Man Parrish (ithappens), Thursday, 29 November 2012 16:26 (thirteen years ago)

not that i needed any further evidence but bothroyd is public enemy #1 in the blue side of sheff these days i heard

dj would be handy, the one i really want back is the iceman though :(

fucking moron hughes

idk when dean richards lost his confidence it was fuckin ugly, how long ago is that now?
gary doherty was sold 8 years ago, nice timing
ah holy fuck antony gardner was still with us til 2008? come back gallas all is forgiven

bill paxman (darraghmac), Thursday, 29 November 2012 23:44 (thirteen years ago)

Gardner began to impress during the 2003–04 season, and earned his England call-up as cover for Gareth Southgate in a friendly against Denmark in March 2004.[27] He won his first and only England cap against Sweden on 31 March 2004, after Sven-Göran Eriksson used him as a half-time substitute at the expense of John Terry; the Swedes won the game 1–0 with a 53rd minute strike from Zlatan Ibrahimović.[28]

idk when dean richards lost his confidence it was fuckin ugly, how long ago is that now?

I think that the early stages of a debilitating brain condition that ultimately killed him might have had something to do with that.

Spurs defenders up until 2009 or thereabouts don't count anyway. Also David Luiz is still playing regularly for Chelsea.

Matt DC, Friday, 30 November 2012 10:55 (thirteen years ago)

not sure dean richards had been diagnosed under hoddle

bill paxman (darraghmac), Friday, 30 November 2012 11:06 (thirteen years ago)

I definitely remember mysterious injuries/illnesses starting pretty early, like 2003 or thereabouts. By the following year we'd signed Naybet and from then on he didn't feature much.

Matt DC, Friday, 30 November 2012 11:30 (thirteen years ago)

I've just done a search for 'Dean Richards' and wow I was a lot more Darraghmac in my younger days. There's one comment I feel particularly bad about in hindsight.
