i had wine for the first time in a long time. months anyway. been off the sauce just to see what that's like after decades of glugging my way to victory. anyway, my friend rob is an italian wine distributor (small fancy italian vineyards) and mmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmm....so good. he really is the best neighbor to have. for real. and he put out the first stars of the lid album! what a world we live in.

Thankful to see the cowboys lose, jets getting killed and my turducken kicked ass

watched a few episodes of the wire on dvd and had leftovers (we ate early), now falling asleep in front of the tv with some top chef.

dinner was great! brother in law made rib eye steaks in the oven & turned out like rare prime rib, I was in meateating HEAVEN.

new pumpkin pie recipe was a hit, turned out perfectly. feeling kinda proud of m'self tbh

didnt get drunk. but my face (incl eyes & nostrils) got a full tongue bath from a huge excitable chow/german-shepherd mix puppy named Zeus so it's all good

I want to smoke a turkey just for those greens. It's all over up here to the north of y'all, though. Did visit DC last week and got a surprise early thanksgiving dinner with friends, which was lovely.

yeah, i don't have a smoker. i dry-brined the turkey for three days and then roasted it at 400 degrees.
