the smell of tofurkey grosses me out, but i like the field roast celebration roast

J have you ever done a DIY holiday roast like w/ tofu + vwg + stuff?

Apparently the trick is mixing smashed tofu w/ the vwg powder

nah, i've got a bunch of recipes for that kind of thing, but it always seems like too much hassle. jordan loves tofurkey so we got that this year.

We sell this cranberry hazelnut en croute thing from Field Roast and it looks SINFUL (also it's $20 so like fuck that)

oh yeah i saw that at the supermarket, it did look pretty delish!

things that made it to the table

- duck. flesh somewhat overdone, skin completely delicious
- sausage stuffing
- mac n cheese
- insane pile of mashed potatoes
- carrots and broccoli
- homemade pumpkin donuts

too much food for four people, tbh

i should have taken some pictures of the spread before it got attacked but i was busy hobnobbing. 20 pound turkey was something. and big table of whore derves was yummy.

Digesting excellent dinner, salad was a hit. Apple and key lime pie later.

I ordered leg o' lamb. Obama ordering drone hit on turkeys joke went over well.

The nice couple who are a few doors down from me, saw me outside having a smoke and asked if I were here at the hotel all day alone. When I said yes, they came back with a plate of ham and potato salad!!

Thanksgiving was last month you silly people!

i had wine for the first time in a long time. months anyway. been off the sauce just to see what that's like after decades of glugging my way to victory. anyway, my friend rob is an italian wine distributor (small fancy italian vineyards) and mmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmm....so good. he really is the best neighbor to have. for real. and he put out the first stars of the lid album! what a world we live in.

Thankful to see the cowboys lose, jets getting killed and my turducken kicked ass

watched a few episodes of the wire on dvd and had leftovers (we ate early), now falling asleep in front of the tv with some top chef.

dinner was great! brother in law made rib eye steaks in the oven & turned out like rare prime rib, I was in meateating HEAVEN.

new pumpkin pie recipe was a hit, turned out perfectly. feeling kinda proud of m'self tbh

didnt get drunk. but my face (incl eyes & nostrils) got a full tongue bath from a huge excitable chow/german-shepherd mix puppy named Zeus so it's all good
