obv he was only a stop gap last season but then he only went and won the european cup and they thought it was bad form to sack him in the summer but they should've really just sacked him in the summer. poor reptilian bugger.

don't know how much di Matteo is responsible for them having no effective strike force but if not him who? there's the bones of a really excellent team in this Chelsea squad but it needs somebody more savvy to put missing pieces in place and teach them some guile

Yeah I mean it's pretty obvious Abramovich didn't really want Di Matteo in the first place and was waiting for the first excuse to get rid of him but hey there'll be another naive sap/cynical mega-manager awaiting the payoff along in a minute.

They were completely appalling last night, it was amazing. But then they were the same against Atletico - that they have mostly been sweeping teams away until the last three or four weeks is a bit strange.

They looked pretty great for the first few games of the season but the same was probably true of the first few games of the AVB and Scolari seasons.

Scolari yes, AVB not really. Chelsea are masters of imperiously sweeping away all before them and then grinding to a halt after a few weeks, they did the same in Ancelotti's last season.

As a caretaker with a view to a permanent move next year, it could happen. He was being talked about as a future Chelsea manager before Spurs fell off a cliff last season. QPR is more likely though.

Harry as short as 5/2 2nd favourite with some bookies for the Chelsea job, though he's still favourite for QPR.

Maybe he could do both, it's only just down the road innit.
