true but if you get the sofa you are set for the night.

also, the staff are decent and some are actually pleasant! it's hard to believe it's a mono offshoot.

jed_, Monday, 2 February 2009 00:34 (seventeen years ago)

seats are from ikea is why they're wobbly.

jed_, Monday, 2 February 2009 00:35 (seventeen years ago)

cozwn, Monday, 2 February 2009 00:36 (seventeen years ago)

three weeks pass...

Chris Corsano, Heather Leigh Murray Duo, RM Hubbert and Burnt Altar, Sat 28 Feb 7:30pm, Stereo, Glasgow, 0141 222 2254 £5

- saw corsano/murray at the CCA a cpl of months back and they were awesomely awesome, dunno the other two acts on the bill

my clubbing pal who used to run the 'open' nights up here is also taking me to see monolake at the sub club on friday 6th, wld love to score some smarties for that

Ward Fowler, Thursday, 26 February 2009 22:07 (seventeen years ago)

FAP plan disintegrated, didn't it? Shall we try again? I'm not organising, like.

ailsa, Thursday, 26 February 2009 22:30 (seventeen years ago)

What's Heather's contribution to the duo? Is Corsano on straight-up drumming?

krakow, Friday, 27 February 2009 07:52 (seventeen years ago)

yeah, last time round corsano was full on improv attack and heather was screamy guitaring

Ward Fowler, Friday, 27 February 2009 20:41 (seventeen years ago)

hi, glasgow

nabisco, Friday, 27 February 2009 20:45 (seventeen years ago)

hi nabisco.

ok ailsa, i'll bite! friday the 6th of february at stereo.

jed_, Friday, 27 February 2009 20:47 (seventeen years ago)

(i don't know when simon, nick et al work nights, just throwing that out there)

jed_, Friday, 27 February 2009 20:48 (seventeen years ago)

I think I'm OK for the 6th March. Might need a time machine for the 6th of February though...

ailsa, Saturday, 28 February 2009 09:31 (seventeen years ago)

:D

jed_, Saturday, 28 February 2009 14:18 (seventeen years ago)

I'm going to take a miss on tonight. As much as I'd love to see Corsano, I just have too much other stuff to do, or at least prevaricate over.

krakow, Saturday, 28 February 2009 20:35 (seventeen years ago)

my desire to see corsano is massively outweighed by my desire to not-see david keenan or hlm.

jed_, Saturday, 28 February 2009 21:02 (seventeen years ago)

There is that.

krakow, Saturday, 28 February 2009 21:16 (seventeen years ago)

I don't think tomorrow night is any good at all for me. Sorry. I assume I'll be stuck at work until late.

If anyone wants to see me make a twat of myself, I'm chairing the Julian Baggini/Complaint session at Aye Write! on Saturday (Mitchell Library, 4.30pm).

Special topics: Disco, The Common Market (grimly fiendish), Thursday, 5 March 2009 13:56 (seventeen years ago)

Tomorrow night at the CCA: Eric Carbonara, Ben Reynolds & The One Ensemble. I'll be there, if anyone fancies it, should be a good night.

krakow, Thursday, 5 March 2009 19:04 (seventeen years ago)

Sorry - am cooking for friends tomorrow night.

Alba, Thursday, 5 March 2009 20:05 (seventeen years ago)

i just stood on my own for 90 minutes then fucked off. thanks.

jed_, Friday, 6 March 2009 22:21 (seventeen years ago)

shite, i totally forgot :-(

sorry, jed. Jesus, Glasgow deserves its reputation for being pish at fapping.

ailsa, Friday, 6 March 2009 22:49 (seventeen years ago)

:-( sorry ailsa, i was joking, i didn't mean to give you a guilt trip. shit joke, i know, but we should all meet up for real. i know it's hard to organise because several of the glasgow people work nights etc.

i wonder if ward f. is getting mad for it at the sub club tonight?

jed_, Friday, 6 March 2009 23:11 (seventeen years ago)

Ha, no, I had vague plans to meet a mate tonight and was seriously going to swing by stereo just in case anyone else showed, but the plans got nixed so I just scooted off homewards without remembering why I'd said stereo in the first place :-)

It was a general sorry for not being more specific earlier in the week, to be honest. We really are shite at this.

ailsa, Friday, 6 March 2009 23:32 (seventeen years ago)

yes, we are. i've been totally shite in the past and only showed up at one fap so far but i think it needs to happen soon.

jed_, Friday, 6 March 2009 23:37 (seventeen years ago)

Visitors from elsewhere or restaurant bookings seems to be the key to successful previous attempts.

ailsa, Friday, 6 March 2009 23:44 (seventeen years ago)

(I don't even want to think about how many grammatical errors I made there)

ailsa, Friday, 6 March 2009 23:44 (seventeen years ago)

I'll pop across and make you meet up if you like.

Keith, Friday, 6 March 2009 23:48 (seventeen years ago)

hello! yes, good idea.

jed_, Friday, 6 March 2009 23:50 (seventeen years ago)

I heartily endorse a plan for Keith-FAP

(do not make it the 29th March, because several of the people you know in Glasgow will be in Edinburgh, which I will discuss with you at some point elsewhere)

ailsa, Friday, 6 March 2009 23:59 (seventeen years ago)

Oh OK. Are you going to the zoo?

Keith, Saturday, 7 March 2009 00:00 (seventeen years ago)

No, we are going to see Cabaret at the Playhouse.

ailsa, Saturday, 7 March 2009 00:05 (seventeen years ago)

Though zoo would be good as well.

Madchen, Friday, 20 March 2009 16:19 (seventeen years ago)

one month passes...

FAPpery: a modest proposal

Obviously, this will take months to organise, so let's start now and try to time it with the Scottish summer ...

a tiny, faltering megaphone (grimly fiendish), Wednesday, 29 April 2009 12:37 (seventeen years ago)

I will be in Glasgow the first week of August -probably around on 2nd or 3rd for a FAP

Dr.C, Wednesday, 29 April 2009 12:55 (seventeen years ago)

yeah grimly, it would indeed be good to catch up w/ you and other glasilxors, tho i'm out of town quite a bit in May/June - still want to meet Jed and cozwn, and I'm pretty sure i've seen krakow taking pics at things like instal

think this cld be quite a special gig, btw:

http://www.sublimefrequencies.com/eurotour.html

oh and a Dr. C FAP in August would be sweet!

Ward Fowler, Wednesday, 29 April 2009 12:58 (seventeen years ago)

Nice one, WF: that'd be superb. I'm away at the end of May as well ... which means I'm going to miss that rather-fantastic-sounding Sublime Frequencies thing, as well as some stuff I'd have liked to see at the Perth Festival ... but let's keep checking in here and see if we can sort something out.

Dr C: rocking! Have pencilled that into my diary.

a tiny, faltering megaphone (grimly fiendish), Wednesday, 29 April 2009 13:04 (seventeen years ago)

I'm up for a drink. i didn't know nick had moved away from glasgow!?

jed_, Wednesday, 29 April 2009 16:14 (seventeen years ago)

Sounds cool

Keith, Wednesday, 29 April 2009 16:25 (seventeen years ago)

I mean a drink, not Nick having moved away.

Keith, Wednesday, 29 April 2009 16:25 (seventeen years ago)

Aye, without great fanfare he headed off down south.
