his cooking is really artless, like everything comes out messy and colorless and unappetizing.
eh I dunno. He made a pork roast that looked tasty and the right color and tantalized his catamite long enough to get him in bed with a piece of bread to cover his topas.

I learned from that thread, for example, that there is a restaurant called "Claim Jumper" and it's not supposed to be a "Clam Jumper" which is something I think women wear

I had dinner at the cheesecake factory last night because I was in the mall and it was there and it was pretty good. I am not ashamed.

that is a list of the restaurants in the "area" (the area of town where people go when they are going out to dinner or shopping or both, usually) of my hometown. y'all are some urbane mfers if going to chili's/macaroni grill/applebee's isn't somewhat familiar to you. i'm not saying i love to go to these places, but they're not where martians congregate.

One year I couldn't go home for Thanksgiving and didn't realize that the grocery store would be closed so wound up having to eat at Boston Market by myself. It was the saddest Thanksgiving ever.

I went to Bennigan's in the late nineties because it was the only place with 25 beers in tap and another 175 bottled.

spent mopping the bathrooms, but nevertheless.
That is sad! Was Boston Market the only place that was open?

My first date as a teen was at TGI Friday's

i mean, i definitely ate at all these joints and worked at a few too! I think i did a year at The Cooker and definitely a year at an Applebee's.The thing is that once you eat and work there and then move to a place where they're not your only option, you develop a deep abiding dislike of them as institutions and places to eat. It's not "Oh these yokels with their underdefined tastebuds"; it's "why in god's name would you go there when there's literally a thousand different options in walking distance"
― Everybody did shit, art happened! (forksclovetofu), Friday, 16 November 2012 15:22 (thirteen years ago)
PF Chang's is classic "somebody at the office has a birthday let's do lunch" place.

x-posts Boston Market was, in fact, the only place that was open and tbh I was really glad it was because if it hadn't been the whole thing could have been a lot sadder. Maybe. I mean it was my own damn fault for thinking that the grocery store would be open but I was 21 and didn't know anything so.

I loved their fried ice cream ie the unhealthiest thing I've ate in my life:
