call all destroyer, Wednesday, 14 November 2012 15:37 (thirteen years ago)

best chain in Boston = the 99

This has got to be a fucking joke.

ENBB, Wednesday, 14 November 2012 15:37 (thirteen years ago)

I am a guy who regularly douses himself in soy sauce but even I was all

THE 99?!

ENBB, Wednesday, 14 November 2012 15:37 (thirteen years ago)

i've def been to worse places than the 99

call all destroyer, Wednesday, 14 November 2012 15:38 (thirteen years ago)

strongo I hope this thread and your ensuing trip to Guy's Whatever Restaurant results in an exciting new round of updates to strongo's nuevo cuisine

does smooshing cloacae together actually count as sodomy??? (silby), Wednesday, 14 November 2012 15:38 (thirteen years ago)

ok yeah most of my bertucci's eating was back in the 90s when i was a kid, havent been recently except for take-out pizza and wld not be surprised if it sucks now that they've gone big

ciderpress, Wednesday, 14 November 2012 15:38 (thirteen years ago)

CAD I'm not sure that I have but maybe I just had a particularly horrific experience.

ENBB, Wednesday, 14 November 2012 15:38 (thirteen years ago)

ciderpress, Wednesday, 14 November 2012 15:39 (thirteen years ago)

oh man i should really hit guy up for some venture capital

idiot man-child (strongo hulkington's ghost dad), Wednesday, 14 November 2012 15:39 (thirteen years ago)

yeah I mean their portions and calories are what they are but its not like the food itself is revolting

oh dude, you are so lucky; remember these days because you will be pissed when you notice how much Cheesecake Factory's food fucking sucks (I think it was the thai chicken pasta that broke me, it basically tasted like someone had vomited peanut butter onto chicken alfredo)

also the 99 is going to be a nightmare if you don't eat meat

I loves you, PORGI (DJP), Wednesday, 14 November 2012 15:39 (thirteen years ago)

there was a 99 in south jersey once, it closed

乒乓, Wednesday, 14 November 2012 15:39 (thirteen years ago)

i mean if anyone understands the d.s.n.c. aesthetic

idiot man-child (strongo hulkington's ghost dad), Wednesday, 14 November 2012 15:39 (thirteen years ago)

Cheesecake Factory is kind of... amazing. Everything is a well-tested bomb of flavor, portions are huge, and the menu has ADVERTISEMENTS in it. Like car ads or something inside the cover

lol yes. A student of ours who works there (the tips are amazing, he says) claims that everything on the menu – everything – is cooked fresh on the premises, not frozen. Food prep people arrive at 3 a.m., he says.

I had a hamburger there that I wanted cooked medium rare and it came out well done

乒乓, Wednesday, 14 November 2012 15:39 (thirteen years ago)

but let's get back to Guy's blue watermelon martini, because that looks amazing

I loves you, PORGI (DJP), Wednesday, 14 November 2012 15:40 (thirteen years ago)

I had a hamburger there that I wanted cooked medium rare and it came out well done

so what are you complaining about?

the little prince of inane false binary hype (Alfred, Lord Sotosyn), Wednesday, 14 November 2012 15:40 (thirteen years ago)

there was an article about the cheesecake factory and its machine-like-processes..where was it, the new yorker?

iatee, Wednesday, 14 November 2012 15:40 (thirteen years ago)

THANK YOU, DAN

idiot man-child (strongo hulkington's ghost dad), Wednesday, 14 November 2012 15:40 (thirteen years ago)

there was an article about that recently, their training is insane and the food prep is incredibly good, delivering an amazingly consistent product, even across cheesecake factories

the product is unfortunately cheesecake factory food, though

under minnesota shakedown (mh), Wednesday, 14 November 2012 15:42 (thirteen years ago)

and the article was actually about health care i think? it was weird.

call all destroyer, Wednesday, 14 November 2012 15:42 (thirteen years ago)

it was about applying cheesecake factory methods to the medical industry. tbh, it'd probably be better in the service of consistent medical care than in food

under minnesota shakedown (mh), Wednesday, 14 November 2012 15:43 (thirteen years ago)

Not if medical care is as consistent as the Factory's taquito rolls.

the little prince of inane false binary hype (Alfred, Lord Sotosyn), Wednesday, 14 November 2012 15:43 (thirteen years ago)

Wait can we just - what is he even eating in that last pic? I do not understand what's happening there.

ENBB, Wednesday, 14 November 2012 15:44 (thirteen years ago)

best chain in Boston = the 99
2nd best = Pizzeria Regina

the 99 is like...a place we went and ate wings back in high school when there was nothing else to do. dont think i'd go today unless i was on a nostalgia trip

regina is legit though i rarely go there

ciderpress, Wednesday, 14 November 2012 15:44 (thirteen years ago)

these places fulfill the mid-century american dream of being able to drive anywhere around the country, go to a familiar restaurant or motel, and get exactly the same product. cheesecake factory somehow does it with fresh ingredients. this is a dream I do not share.

I don't think Fieri actually has anything as ridiculous as that hot dog in his restaurant? I got the impression his own food is like applebees inspired by crazy stuff, but not actually crazy

under minnesota shakedown (mh), Wednesday, 14 November 2012 15:48 (thirteen years ago)

This autumn ale is made with honey-roasted pumpkins and simmered with ginger, cloves, cinnamon, and nutmeg. A sweet and spicy harvest treat that goes down smoothly.
