what a horrible game of football

Number None, Sunday, 11 November 2012 17:58 (thirteen years ago)

lfc's might be the most capital-t transitional year i've ever seen in fitba. play the kids, stay out of relegation, hand in a vague semblance of a progress report by the last month of the season and brendan's cushty p much. prep for next summer's transfers, which will be definitive

r|t|c, Sunday, 11 November 2012 18:04 (thirteen years ago)

Only caught the post-match but the Squares push for the goal is a shocker

That looks like how it's going to be, January window pending. Now 'til Easter inching towards 40 points isn't what I was hoping for this year if I'm honest.

Hugs to Terry, I hope it's nothing serious.

jose enrique had a great game today, his best so far this season. another striker is still a priority obviously, i dont know if theo walcott is the answer to that dilemma though.

luis's teammates not much into celebrating.

Howard Webb making the interception that led to the corner for Chelsea's goal pissed me off for a good ten minutes. Redeemed himself with allowing Suarez foul for the equaliser. First half was home game vs Arsenal level of bad.

pandemic, Monday, 12 November 2012 11:05 (thirteen years ago)

lol yeah webb made like 4 or 5 crucial interceptions yday, motm imo

"I do believe in myself. That's one thing I've always had," he said. "Looking at someone like Didier Drogba, for me, he's always said to me: 'Studge, it doesn't really matter about anything as long as you believe in yourself.' And that's my main strength.

Yah, unless he, I dunno, went on strike to demand to leave it's p much impossible for LFC to justify selling the best player they have by an incredible margin.

Fulham have won the race to sign Irish teenage sensation Noe Baba ahead of competition from Manchester United, Sunderland and Celtic.

The 16-year-old defender opted for the London club after being convinced their recruitment and academy set-up would give him a better platform to progress.

United headed a list of 16 clubs chasing the Cameroon-born kid who plays for Castlebar Celtic in County Mayo, but the presence of Fulham's Malcolm Elias, Steve Wigley, Huw Jennings and Stewart Henderson swayed his mind.

for 40m? knowing carra and gerrard have to be replaced soon too without any money to do so? suarez isn't worth holding on to when you could get three good 13m players for him.

bill paxman (darraghmac), Thursday, 15 November 2012 01:39 (thirteen years ago)

According to recent reports, Glasgow Celtic were believed to have reached an agreement to sign the talented Baba but, according to Castlebar Celtic’s Noel Coll, no such agreement has been finalised.
“We’re still in talks with Celtic but no deal has been agreed so far,“ Coll told The Mayo News. “Noe is still a Castlebar Celtic player and that’s the way it is for the moment. He was in talks with the likes of Arsenal and Man United, and he is in talks with Celtic. It seems that is where he’ll be going,” he admitted.

NAMES A CUNTZ FAE RENFRA (Nilmar Honorato da Silva), Thursday, 15 November 2012 01:56 (thirteen years ago)

think coleman's from around killybegs

mayo mayo mayo.... we had a lad captaining birmingham underage teams/ireland u-15 teams a few years back. those that don't turn to pissheads lack the necessary discipline in other ways, or injury takes em i guess? cousin of mine got as far as goalkeeper at kilmarnock reserves back in the day, they paid him enough to get shtuck into a barrel a pints every night, fair fucks to the lad he had a great 1997. digs ditches now.

tough enough to even get noticed this far west, there's no infrastructure for spotting and developing the talent. added to that the fact that we're decent folk that get schooling battered into us so yer dublin jackeens that don't have to do nothing but mule heroin and kick a ball at the luas all day from the age of 5 get an invaluable early advantage (wenger reckons you never get that chance again, y'know, john giles and eamon agree).
