That episode was awful, but it was so awful that it's required viewing so you can appreciate how much of a train wreck it is. Compare this to the "Bloody Mary" episode from the end of last season, which was so bad I never want to think about it ever again.

I mean, it seems like they were only just advertising the new season, and now they are suddenly advertising the marathon recapping of it. And six episodes=it was really only just over a month's worth of shows. Considering that, by their own admission they are capable of churning them out in a few days, it seems kinda lousy that we are granted a meager half-dozen. An even ten at least would lessen my griping.

They must have a fat contract...which is fine by me...though I hope they take advantage of the leisure time to do more films in the vein of Team America.

I don't know exactly, but they were advertising 3 hrs. of recap of the newest ("half")season for this weekend, which would translate into 6 episodes...and to my knowledge they only do the recap of the season after all of the new episodes have been exhausted.

Either way, it seems kinda paltry to me...but maybe I am just greedy!

A mere four weeks-worth of new material- is that a standard for most programs these days? I don't really keep up with these things, but it seems on the slight side to me. I'm imagining that the average network drama or sitcom produces closer to twenty or so...and I'm also guessing that 15-20 years ago that number was even higher.

It's the way most animated shows seem to run, as far as I can work out (I'm british, and so the 6 episode series is king). Every other SP season has been two blocks of 7.

The mid-season gaps for the last few series have been longer than the gaps between actual seasons. They've done this for the last few, shown half the series in April/March, the rest in October-December.

the al gore jokes were very, very lame. the only funny bits were the cartman stuff, and the best bit of that was the one they showed in the ads all week where he goes, "t-t-treasure!"

they're so hit and miss. it's like you can tell the weeks where the weed supply runs low.

South Park" episode said to have angered Tom Cruise up for an Emmy

NORTH HOLLYWOOD, Calif. One of the Emmy nominees for best animated program is the episode of "South Park" that's said to have angered Tom Cruise and Isaac Hayes.

The episode called "Trapped in the Closet" implies that Cruise is gay and makes fun of Scientology.

Cruise's fellow Scientologist Isaac Hayes reportedly quit because he was upset with the episode. And when it came time to rerun it, Cruise allegedly called Comedy Central and demanded that it be pulled. It was, even though Cruise's people denied he asked for it.

"Trapped in the Closet," another controversial episode that skewers Scientology and its popular proponent Tom Cruise will rerun July 19. It was last set to repeat in March but was abruptly pulled by the network amid reports that Cruise had used his clout to bury it.

"We just picked the wrong guy to parody because I have a feeling we'll be asked about Tom Cruise for the next two years," Stone said. "Every time we're in a headline, it's like, Tom Cruise and then us in a headline, you start to get that Tom Cruise stink on you."

Just caught the end of last Wednesday's episode. The "MOM! BATHROOM!" bit was the closest thing to a laugh.
I've never played WoW, but I do believe that's the first time I've heard someone say "pwned" on TV.

The little intro's for the Hardly Boys that they kept playing cracked me up.

It was a little weird seeing the burning WTC in such a goofy episode. I guess it won't take thirty years for that image to become something "harmless" like the Hidenberg exploding.
