Oh look - I'd forgotten I was ill 23-24/10 as well. Had a further four days off with nasty throat infection at the beginning of Nov and stupidly didn't finish course of antibiotics (cos I was well again and back at work). Now the infection is back and I've finished off the Penicillin...

been ill for 2 weeks. only started to feel human again today when i wake up without a headache and a fever for the first time

Today marks my one month anniversary of being sick. This is the longest I've ever been sick in my life.

go steal some antibiotics.

What's dumb is that for the first time in a long while, I have health care. But at the end of every week, I'm always convinced that it couldn't possibly go on another week, and that going to the doctor would be a waste of time.

This is the third time I've gotten sick this winter. Chills, achy, cough, headache...I ain't got TIME to be sick, motherfucker!

I've got the bar exam in 39 days and a brief due at work in a week!

I think I am taking tonight and possibly tomorrow off. I need some rest.

I'm currently working on my fourth week of this damned cold/sinus infection.

My boss effectively dodged this same cold/flu by "sitting in a steam room for an hour, and then drinking Scotch to ridiculous excess."

I may try that this evening, but with bourbon.

Thoughts?

I've been battling a cold THRICE for the past two months. On top of that my mum has/had pneumonia, my husband and oldest daughter also had colds and/or a virus. My dad also had a cold but only for a day or so.

I'm on the tail end of a bad cold that started Sunday

Scotch, while tasty, isn't really gonna help yr immune system none.

Bourbon is totally out of the question, naturally.

after watching some nasty bug (a form of flu? who knows) knock out my wife and both kids over the last 3 weeks, it's finally my turn. at least it's gone sequentially so we've all been able to take care of each other. still. ugh. my first fever in at least a few years. judging from its observed course so far, i probably have two more lousy days ahead.

surely i amn't the only one ailing in the 2nd week of december. where my co-sufferers at?

isn't it funny how that works? xp I always assume it's cause the virus keeps on mutating until it finds a suitable version to slip past your immune system.

i was really sick thanksgiving week, felt better for a week, and now i feel as though i've developed some kind of winter allergies. been sneezing and blowing my nose all week, with itchy sore throat. i just want it all to go away. my nose is raw now from all the tissues :(

boo, hate raw noses. we've dramatically upped our tissue consumption around here. tis the season.

i splurged and bought some w/ lotion tonight bc putting on facial moisturizer even made it sting!

Just went through a nasty bit of free-floating paranoia. Thought it was going to develop into a bout of hypomania, but nothing happened, thankfully. Slept for 14 hours and now it's going away.

had a cold all this week, bleah.

Seems like I'm sick the second week of December every fucking year.

been feeling wonky all day, just came home and have a massive headache. my torso has felt like it's 'tender' since morning. stomach was a little unsettled too. blargh

i'm almost sure I have it too. i've been having off and on pain for at least a couple years

jesus...had a cold for last two weeks or so but it was just a bit of congestion etc, nothing major. then yday evening i just get this onset of shivers where i can't even move in bed without shivering, had to put on loads of clothes. sinuses ache, mouth is a bit swollen, and chest is a little sore which makes me worry about having pneumonia. didn't sleep properly at all, mind was just racing with sweaty delirious dreams.

hoping this goes away quickly as i have a job interview on friday and an audition for a play tomorrow.

if you had pneumonia, i think you'd know, you wouldn't be able to move.

i've had a cold for about 6 days now, aching head and hot and cold flushes, only thing to do is plenty of fluids and keep warm.

having a hot bath and getting into bed with many layers on to sweat it out always seems to work.

wish i still had a bath :(

yeah i'm just being paranoid on the pneumonia issue i'm sure. hot bath sounds great apart from the effort required to get out of bad and get into one. might try eating something soon. ugh...

you have an audition for a play! that's pretty cool. hope it is for a character who has the ague...

went home for the weekend to go to a conference and thence dancing but haven't been able to do more than lie in bed huffing decongestant and whining about how everything hurts. :(

yeah it's annoying, i might go even if still sick but i would be rubbish, my throat is sore etc and i am not myself.

you definitely should go even if still sick! you might end up being better than you expect. I had a friend who would with absolute regularity get minor illnesses or injure herself before performances (she was in ~musical theatre~), after a while I started to suspect it was her way of not giving herself a chance to be nervous.

i guess i can mention it to them too, if they were doing a second round or whatev they might give me a go...

GAH....had to cancel my audition, can't even walk to the shops and can barely leave my bed. extremely annoying.

This sounds like what my whole family has had for the past two weeks. The doctor diagnosed it as viral meningitis (not the same as spinal meningitis, thank god). My experience with it was pretty brutal though. I really couldn't function at all. It would take me minutes on end to climb out of bed. My poor daughter had it too and had to be hospitalized for a few days. She's recovered now though.

Sitting in a waiting room now. Had a flu-type thing all week, that's mostly gone, now it's a gross lung-busting cough that won't go away. Ugh, fml.

^^^been there. Now what is someone taking you to the doctor, who prescribes drugs and minimal rest (you shouldn't go more than a day on bed rest in most cases),

Think I got flu yet again. Certainly feelin drained. CAn't type properly , must blame it on that obviously.

Coincides with me having a couple days off whcih I should be using constructively. may go back to bed and read Lord Jim.

in an absolute state today, got in from class last night and got this rush of the shivers where i couldn't stop shaking. upset stomach and demented dreams all night and all day today. you know when you don't even know if you're asleep or awake, such is the madness of the fever dreams.

on the plus side there's always the chance i recover in time for the weekend.

I felt like that four weeks ago. Two courses of antibiotics later and I just about feeling normal again. I hadn't needed a sick day since 2009. Sick times.

First illness of the season. Maybe a mild flu? Temp hasn’t been over 102 and has mostly sat around 100. But bleah. Had to cancel a social thing Friday I was really looking forward to, and just generally feel puny in all respects. On the plus side it frees me up from thinking about doing anything and I’ve just been lying on the couch watching movies.

Anyway, sympathies to anyone else ailing.
