They will be calling Jerry Sadowitz in to find out just what he knew (and how)..

Isn't there a fine for wasting police time without something more reliable than "someone on a message board says..."?

Are you implying that Suzy's name-droppings are just the whims of 'someone on a message board' who's merely pretended for the past decade to be at the centre of the pop world, but who in fact has never come into contact with key players in the industry and therefore all her pronouncements should be taken with a huge pinch of salt?

Campari G&T, Sunday, 28 October 2012 23:51 (thirteen years ago)

I don't exactly keep tabs on the guy but I was pretty surprised that Gary Glitter wasn't still in jail.

JoeStork, Monday, 29 October 2012 00:05 (thirteen years ago)

I am pretty sure what I heard about impending arrest 24 hours before it happened was as a result of the individual already making a contribution of information - otherwise why say anything to a mere acquaintance? - so the persistence of personal attacks on me by this suddenly interested poster for saying so is just a tad crepey. CG&T, your insults are unacceptable and I've already objected to the way you're tailgating me on this thread, so take this opportunity to pick on someone your own size.

a) I don't believe a single word of your last post, but b) I'm happy to just let things take their natural course, and won't post any more on this thread.

Campari G&T, Monday, 29 October 2012 00:26 (thirteen years ago)

Has this been mentioned yet?

It feels like someone is about to suggest that Saville was operating within hospitals and so they should finish off the NHS.

djh, Wednesday, 31 October 2012 22:16 (thirteen years ago)

Well, apparently it was Edwina Currie who gave him the keys to that particular kingdom. In a statement she insinuated that people connected with the hospital who objected to Savile's actions had to deal with him blackmailing them with *their* dirty laundry.

...what, like having an affair with John Major?

ella fingerblast hurls forever (suzy), Wednesday, 31 October 2012 22:22 (thirteen years ago)

Wonder how he found that piece of useful info?

btw, wonder what Thatch and Sav talked about on Christmas meetings?

Somehow I saw an interview with him on This Morning (Phil doing his 'serious matters' face) and he kept going on about how he ~WANTED~ the police to investigate. Just to get it cleared up!

Cameron helping out anyone struggling with twitter searches by pointing out that people on the list are gay.

squozen turnip (onimo), Thursday, 8 November 2012 12:08 (thirteen years ago)

Can't play that youtube file right now but the name I've heard isn't (openly) gay

Named locally as Tom D (Tom D.), Thursday, 8 November 2012 12:12 (thirteen years ago)

Schofield hands Cameron a list, Cameron looks at it and says something like "We don't want to turn this into a witch hunt of people who are gay."

squozen turnip (onimo), Thursday, 8 November 2012 12:14 (thirteen years ago)

Fearne definitely didn't sign up for this kinda thing when she got the This Morning gig i bet.

piscesx, Thursday, 8 November 2012 12:18 (thirteen years ago)

That's Holly but easy mistake to make

Named locally as Tom D (Tom D.), Thursday, 8 November 2012 12:20 (thirteen years ago)

I've seen four names bandied about, one of whom is openly gay, one is very guarded about his sexuality, two are not openly gay at all. The main name I've seen falls into the last category.

Albert Crampus (NickB), Thursday, 8 November 2012 12:24 (thirteen years ago)

They should do a This Morning / Surprise Surprise crossover.

Huey Lewisies & The Newsie-Wewsies (snoball), Thursday, 8 November 2012 12:25 (thirteen years ago)

thatcher wasn't gay

Heterocyclic ring ring (LocalGarda), Thursday, 8 November 2012 12:26 (thirteen years ago)

Phil S does not mention anyone in that clip.

Mark G, Thursday, 8 November 2012 12:27 (thirteen years ago)

Read in the Guardian yesterday that Savile was apparently interviewed as a possible suspect in the Yorkshire Ripper investigation after an anonymous tip-off.

Albert Crampus (NickB), Thursday, 8 November 2012 12:28 (thirteen years ago)

That Paul Gambaccini really had it in for him

Named locally as Tom D (Tom D.), Thursday, 8 November 2012 12:29 (thirteen years ago)

The telegraph has it he 'reveals' in passing the list to DC, but it's not possible to read it, certainly not on youtube and I doubt even on freeze-frame on a HD tele.

Unless you are Jim Phelps, of course.

Mark G, Thursday, 8 November 2012 12:30 (thirteen years ago)

xp ah yeah sorry Holly. gotcha.

piscesx, Thursday, 8 November 2012 12:39 (thirteen years ago)

http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-politics-20251939

I can't believe this, but I'm actually agreeing with Cameron about something...

"There is a danger, if we're not careful, that this could turn into a sort of witch-hunt, particularly against people who are gay and I'm worried about the sort of thing you are doing right now - giving me a list of names that you've taken off the internet."

Who watches This Morning anyway? It never recovered after Richard and Judy stopped presenting it.
