Wait, seriously, what day is it?

dar1a g (daria g), Wednesday, 26 October 2005 19:33 (twenty years ago)

Tomorrow (Thursday).

quincie, Wednesday, 26 October 2005 19:37 (twenty years ago)

THURSDAY 7:30

PM

TOMBOT, Wednesday, 26 October 2005 19:37 (twenty years ago)

WAIT IT'S NOT STANDARD TIME YET IS IT?

Stephen X (Stephen X), Thursday, 27 October 2005 01:46 (twenty years ago)

Actually, I asked myself that question for most of Sunday. And probably will again.

I'll be at the FAP, but don't let that stop you.

Stephen X (Stephen X), Thursday, 27 October 2005 01:48 (twenty years ago)

How will I recognize everyone?

Mary (Mary), Thursday, 27 October 2005 02:43 (twenty years ago)

Cherchez les dorks!

Stephen X (Stephen X), Thursday, 27 October 2005 02:55 (twenty years ago)

Oh, well then. I knew there was a reason I couldn't get my shit together to head to DC today.

Wait, what's that in military time plz?

dar1a g (daria g), Thursday, 27 October 2005 03:08 (twenty years ago)

What are the cross-streets?

Mary (Mary), Thursday, 27 October 2005 03:55 (twenty years ago)

I think my date will wrap up around 8:30 or so (alas, my hott geophysicist has to return to his stunning wife and gorgeous children), after which I'll hop the 42 bus and join you all. Keep an eye out for an unusually tall brunette carrying a red bag filled with PRESENTS!

quincie, Thursday, 27 October 2005 12:10 (twenty years ago)

Stephen, if you weren't at the FAP I actually think I'd be pretty sad.

Mary I'm not sure what the cross streets are but it's smack in the middle of the 18th St drag in dreaded Adam's Morgan (that's like what Columbia & 18th?). On the same side of the street as Heaven & Hell, a few doors down from it IIRC. You will recognize me as Girl #3 from The Magician.

In military time, that is 1930.

Allyzay knows a little German (allyzay), Thursday, 27 October 2005 12:58 (twenty years ago)

18th & belmont. oooh, presents!

mookieproof (mookieproof), Thursday, 27 October 2005 13:04 (twenty years ago)

I am wearing black pinstripe pants from H&M, black doc marten square-toed loafers and a grey ribbed zip mock sweater. I'm Hi, Dude Generic.

TOMBOT, Thursday, 27 October 2005 13:10 (twenty years ago)

Aw, Ally.

I look like one of the guys they bring in to fill out police lineups.

Stephen X (Stephen X), Thursday, 27 October 2005 13:30 (twenty years ago)

Oh god, I will never find parking. I didn't realize it was in the smouldering heart of Adams Morgan. I am wearing: black sweater, jean skirt, brown boots, black tights, brown plaid blazer. Will be reading: The Princess Cassamassa if arrive before everyone else.

WORKER, Thursday, 27 October 2005 13:43 (twenty years ago)

Is j.lu here posting under a different name? If not, where is she??? Tis the season to be KNITTING.

quincie, Thursday, 27 October 2005 13:56 (twenty years ago)

there is usually (or at least there was when i lived there three years ago) parking available on florida around v st/ontario. walk up 18th, though, rather than cutting through the marie reed center.

mookieproof (mookieproof), Thursday, 27 October 2005 14:26 (twenty years ago)

Sorry to distress anyone, I just haven't been posting as much on ILE these days. Although I have been following this thread. Pharmacy Bar tonight after 7:30? See you there.

j.lu (j.lu), Thursday, 27 October 2005 15:11 (twenty years ago)

this is zack and me - we'll be there at 730 or so...

petesmith (plsmith), Thursday, 27 October 2005 15:14 (twenty years ago)

I might try and show up to this.

adam (adam), Thursday, 27 October 2005 15:54 (twenty years ago)

I'm tall and look like a hurricane refugee. J-Lu might remember our encounter at the Unrest show earlier this year.

adam (adam), Thursday, 27 October 2005 15:58 (twenty years ago)

that was a pretty great show. if only they'd played a bit longer.

Zack Richardson (teenagequiet), Thursday, 27 October 2005 16:11 (twenty years ago)

I'm headed out of the office early to maximize pre-lecture beer consumption. See you all tonight. If you ditch Pharmacy for elsewhere before I arrive, maybe leave a note with the bartender or something.

Also: I have just received a flu shot, so if I look a little peaked just get another drink in me and I will be fine.

quincie, Thursday, 27 October 2005 18:42 (twenty years ago)

did dc really wait for me to leave to start being fun?
that is so lame of dc!

carly (carly), Thursday, 27 October 2005 18:50 (twenty years ago)

Where is Flordia,I am coming over the 14th street bridge. Should I just go to V and then turn (left?)?

posting from work, Thursday, 27 October 2005 20:16 (twenty years ago)

Florida is between Georgia and Cuba!

I apologize, Mary, for doing that just there.

Allyzay knows a little German (allyzay), Thursday, 27 October 2005 20:20 (twenty years ago)

sure

mookieproof (mookieproof), Thursday, 27 October 2005 20:22 (twenty years ago)

Heh, I thought that might happen. Actually, I think I turn right on V?

posting from work, Thursday, 27 October 2005 20:23 (twenty years ago)

nah, turn left on V

mookieproof (mookieproof), Thursday, 27 October 2005 20:24 (twenty years ago)

Okay, thanks. I will probably be there early (leaving work soon) unless I have parallel parking panic attack and end up endless circling the joint.

WORKER, Thursday, 27 October 2005 20:41 (twenty years ago)

Didya have fun?

curmudgeon (Steve K), Friday, 28 October 2005 03:51 (twenty years ago)

THINGS I LEARNED AT THE DC FAP:

Zack drops beer (!)
TOMBOT will dance to Thin Lizzy's 'Jailbreak'
Pete referred to Kevin Shields as Mark Shields OH NO!
Quincie's...okay for a USC/UNC person, if a wee bit short
Dar1a is one of us
Mookieproof is not developmentally disabled (much)
Steve X has our dream job
Carly should have been there
The Chisox are the best team in baseball no matter their Pythagorean record
Ned needs sideburns
Yanc3y gets puked on a lot

mookieproof (mookieproof), Friday, 28 October 2005 04:23 (twenty years ago)

Jesus, dude, how'd you get home so soon? I'm posting in the mornin'.....g'night.

Stephen X (Stephen X), Friday, 28 October 2005 04:28 (twenty years ago)

new thread's a-comin.

petesmith (plsmith), Friday, 28 October 2005 04:53 (twenty years ago)

dude fuck a metro. i dropped a cocktail. so what? what're you gonna do? i'm in fucking rosslyn! what the fuck! i don't even live here! goddamn it. i had a great time and you are all fantastic human beings and if you don't come to mandalay next week i'm gonna hit you.

Zack Richardson (teenagequiet), Friday, 28 October 2005 05:02 (twenty years ago)

also i swear to the sweet lord jesus marimba this was the first time in my entire life that i've ever dropped a drink and i could just die of the shame.

Zack Richardson (teenagequiet), Friday, 28 October 2005 05:08 (twenty years ago)

things i know to be true:
everyone drops a beer once in awhile
who WOULDN'T dance to jailbreak??
pete knows so much more than we can imagine
i should have been there
we should all have our dream job
the metro should run later
noone should be puked on "a lot"
pythagorean records should be called upon a lot more

carly (carly), Friday, 28 October 2005 05:32 (twenty years ago)

After you drink Baron Von Munchausen's beer he waits until you go to sleep and then fires 100mph bean bags at your head for 6 hours. The more you know.

TOMBOT, Friday, 28 October 2005 11:14 (twenty years ago)

they should have put that part in the movie

Zack Richardson (teenagequiet), Friday, 28 October 2005 12:32 (twenty years ago)

To the last leavers, I'm sorry I ducked out kind of suddenly and didn't get much chance to say goodbye!

Allyzay knows a little German (allyzay), Friday, 28 October 2005 12:33 (twenty years ago)

Thanks to everyone for completely restoring my interest in getting the hell out of the house. I had a great time and look forward to doing it again soon!

For those involved in "predict quincie's cab fare home," the total was. . . $11.50! I argued a bit with the guy but he's like, "that's always the fare! Look at the map!" FUCK NO I AM NOT GOING TO LOOK AT THAT RIDICULOUS MAP whatever just take me home.

quincie, Friday, 28 October 2005 13:00 (twenty years ago)

that's always their reasoning, "Just look at the map!" Sometimes I think hidden in that map is actually a hypnotic code, since there's no other way that looking at it would explain your fare.

Allyzay knows a little German (allyzay), Friday, 28 October 2005 13:08 (twenty years ago)

i just ate/drank the weirdo thai aloe drink quincie gave me last night and although the texture was sorta creepy it was pretty delicious

Zack Richardson (teenagequiet), Friday, 28 October 2005 18:28 (twenty years ago)

we all have to come up with gifts to give her next time we meet.

Allyzay knows a little German (allyzay), Friday, 28 October 2005 18:30 (twenty years ago)

Zack did it taste like ECTOPLASM? 'Cause that's what it looked/felt like!

Did you chill it or drink it room temp?

So many ASIAN SNAX questions. . .

quincie, Friday, 28 October 2005 18:36 (twenty years ago)

make your choices now

petesmith (plsmith), Friday, 28 October 2005 18:39 (twenty years ago)

tofu salad
bitter melon pork
iced myanmar coffee
sticky rice

petesmith (plsmith), Friday, 28 October 2005 18:41 (twenty years ago)

I'm thinking of bitter melon chicken.

Allyzay knows a little German (allyzay), Friday, 28 October 2005 18:42 (twenty years ago)

the reason i like the pork one better is that the sweetness of the pork sets off a biff!bang!pow! counterpoint with the awesome bitterness of the bitter pork.

jesus christ. i think ill eat mandalay tomorrow.
