haha that's awesome, luring fools in with vague suggestions of possible sex.

ken c (ken c), Friday, 29 July 2005 15:19 (twenty years ago)

How weird... I just got a new front tooth today.

KeefW (kmw), Friday, 29 July 2005 15:20 (twenty years ago)

Just like... out of nowhere?

Alba (Alba), Friday, 29 July 2005 15:21 (twenty years ago)

excellent, keith. we can try to knock it out tomorrow night by flinging peanuts at it.

actually, no. we shan't do that. not now we're all growed up and mature.

another reminder, then: beer/birthday action, tomorrow (saturday), mono, 8.30 on. everybody welcome, whether we know each other or not.

you might even get to see stet humiliating me in a painful way. the git.

grimly fiendish (grimlord), Friday, 29 July 2005 16:15 (twenty years ago)

Alba, no, it's a crown. Had a rather unfortunate incident a couple of months ago. You going along tomorrow night?

KeefW (kmw), Friday, 29 July 2005 16:22 (twenty years ago)

Yes. I'm working till MIDNIGHT, though. Can I assume you'll be in Barfly by then?

Alba (Alba), Friday, 29 July 2005 16:22 (twenty years ago)

probably. unless we're standing outside mono having a FITE about where to go (as usual).

"right, barfly."
"nah. woodside."
"blue dog."
"GARAGE!"
"fuck off!"
"bleeeeugh, spew."
"you cunt, those are my best keks."

etc

text us (my mobile works fine in barfly, which always surprises me).

grimly fiendish (grimlord), Friday, 29 July 2005 16:33 (twenty years ago)

cozen (Cozen), Friday, 29 July 2005 17:11 (twenty years ago)

Homosexual II (Homosexual II), Friday, 29 July 2005 17:15 (twenty years ago)

Homosexual II (Homosexual II), Friday, 29 July 2005 17:28 (twenty years ago)

They have crushes? How 1997!

They are secret admirer messages, sent by Cilla Black. Recently I got 2 bowlie Secret Admirer Matches. (For once it was pretty easy to guess the people who sent the admiration.)

Last Of The Famous International Pfunkboys (Kerr), Friday, 29 July 2005 22:38 (twenty years ago)

miller. i did meet you after all. or see you at least. mmmm
simon and co. looks like there might be a RAWK party at our friend's castle tomorrow night, so i might try to steal ppl after mono. including you. but it looks like maybe you have other plans? barfly? hmmmm.
the benefit of the castle is that it never closes. and .2. might play a special secret set JUST FOR YOU!

dahlin (dahlin), Friday, 29 July 2005 23:07 (twenty years ago)

You sound like a deranged stalker.

Alba (Alba), Friday, 29 July 2005 23:15 (twenty years ago)

yes

dahlin (dahlin), Friday, 29 July 2005 23:30 (twenty years ago)

I will be in Mono tomorrow. Then maybe at the RAWK party despite not technically being invited (but I heard about it anyway, nothing involving booze gets past me).

Tonight I stood behind Stew Beardmag in the queue for the bar at the Woodside for about half an hour. I debated whether to talk to him, but then everyone in the Woody decided to queue jump by being his mate, so I decided not to bother and stood silently fuming instead. Then bought four Bacardi Breezers so I didn't have to go and queue ever again. I hate NPL bar queues.

ailsa (ailsa), Saturday, 30 July 2005 00:28 (twenty years ago)

I am at work. I have to be at work tomorrow as well. At eight. It is going to take mucho booze to persuade me to go to the Castle :((((

Mädchen (Madchen), Saturday, 30 July 2005 07:31 (twenty years ago)

Sorry, did I say mucho booze? :))))

Mädchen (Madchen), Saturday, 30 July 2005 07:31 (twenty years ago)

ronan, bring your copy of pro evo 4!

cozen (Cozen), Saturday, 30 July 2005 07:36 (twenty years ago)

Is this "castle" what I think it is?

KeefW (kmw), Saturday, 30 July 2005 08:30 (twenty years ago)

yes, I will.

Ronan (Ronan), Saturday, 30 July 2005 10:19 (twenty years ago)

yes, it is, keith

RJG (RJG), Saturday, 30 July 2005 10:27 (twenty years ago)

Great. You coming to Mono?

KeefW (kmw), Saturday, 30 July 2005 10:29 (twenty years ago)

I have been being ill, all this week, but I think I will try!

RJG (RJG), Saturday, 30 July 2005 10:45 (twenty years ago)

Not so good... Hope to see you later.

KeefW (kmw), Saturday, 30 July 2005 10:57 (twenty years ago)

booze is a good cure for illness, RJG. alcohol kills all known illness dead. a night out will be good for your body and soul.

castle? keith, i might be calling you about this :0

grimly fiendish (grimlord), Saturday, 30 July 2005 11:45 (twenty years ago)

i'm intrigued and excited now. which is a fun combination. coo ur, better lay off the jelly and ice cream.

grimly fiendish (grimlord), Saturday, 30 July 2005 11:48 (twenty years ago)

king of the castle!

dahlin (dahlin), Saturday, 30 July 2005 13:59 (twenty years ago)

Oh gosh, I'm really sorry! I didn't recognise you. Sorry about the queue jumping, I think that was a friend's camp work mates turning up. That queue was bad though, especially when it was so hot. I went to Optimo a couple of weeks ago and that was like a Sauna, but this was possibly even worse.
We ended up going to a party afterwards where that old guy with glasses who does amazing interpretative dancing was at. He's called Andrew and has written most of the staff recommendations on the first floor of the Sauchie Hall St branch of Waterstones.
I saw Dahlin on the dancefloor but didn't get a chance to chat to her. I did talk to Mr Dahlin though.

Stew (stew s), Saturday, 30 July 2005 17:06 (twenty years ago)

I am so tempted by mono.

cozen (Cozen), Saturday, 30 July 2005 17:20 (twenty years ago)

give in

RJG (RJG), Saturday, 30 July 2005 17:27 (twenty years ago)

I know Andrew.

Cathy (Cathy), Saturday, 30 July 2005 17:36 (twenty years ago)

Cool. He was a nice chap. I'd always wondered if you get paid extra for those book recommendations, but alas, 'tis not the case.

Stew (stew s), Saturday, 30 July 2005 17:49 (twenty years ago)

yeah, he is very enthusiastic and fun to talk to. whose party was it?

Cathy (Cathy), Saturday, 30 July 2005 18:27 (twenty years ago)

A guy called Mark, who's a friend of a friend. I think one of his flatmates works for Waterstones so there was a whole crew of bookshop employees there.

Stew (stew s), Saturday, 30 July 2005 18:58 (twenty years ago)

Don't worry about it, Stew. I was queue jumping with the best of them last time, and I was so knackered I couldn't be bothered speaking to anyone anyway.

Thanks to Glasgow for another excellent night of ruin. Glasgow, you're good. Barfly, on the other hand, is rotten. Apart from when they played Doctoring the Tardis. That was fun.

I suppose I'd also better apologise to Madchen and Stet for any nasty diseases transmitted by Ryan's "toilet treasures". Hehehehe.

How's the head, grimly? You seemed rather, erm, pished.

ailsa (ailsa), Sunday, 31 July 2005 09:43 (twenty years ago)

Grimly is an excellent drunk.

Mädchen (Madchen), Sunday, 31 July 2005 09:46 (twenty years ago)

astounding

dahlin (dahlin), Sunday, 31 July 2005 10:14 (twenty years ago)

I need to work on my drunk skillz. I would love to be a comedy and entertaining drunk, but I'm a maudlin and grumpy old sod.

Grimly was so entertainingly drunk that he singlehandedly managed to convince my husband that not all mentalists are actually mentalists. The mister was all "S1mon ROCKS! He's excellent". Normally he's "your friend are all off the internet. LOSER!!", but somehow he's now been convinced that this is, in fact, an OK thing.

I'm not sure how one conversation with a very drunk bloke is more important evidence than, you know, the fact that he's known all my perfectly normal internet mentalist companions for ages.

ailsa (ailsa), Sunday, 31 July 2005 10:25 (twenty years ago)

I'm sorry I didn't come. I just felt too damn sober after leaving work at 12 to enter a world of drunkenness.

Alba (Alba), Sunday, 31 July 2005 10:30 (twenty years ago)

Hello everyone. I miss y'all. Except Alba, who cruelly avoided meeting me. *cries*

Ned Raggett (Ned), Sunday, 31 July 2005 10:32 (twenty years ago)

I would've liked to come, but felt too ill. Instead I went to bed and had two terrifying nightmares. The second one was about armed police threatening to shoot me, and zombies. : (

Hello Ned! Where are you now?

Cathy (Cathy), Sunday, 31 July 2005 10:33 (twenty years ago)

Hulloa. I R home in California, jet-lagged like crazy which is why I am up so early (it's just now 5 am and I have been cat-napping on and off all night, I suspect tonight things will readjust properly).

Ned Raggett (Ned), Sunday, 31 July 2005 11:08 (twenty years ago)

It was great to meet you, even though it was very brief!

Cathy (Cathy), Sunday, 31 July 2005 11:26 (twenty years ago)

Yus indeed! :-) You must post many stories about Spanish adventures.

Ned Raggett (Ned), Sunday, 31 July 2005 11:27 (twenty years ago)

I will do.

Also:

As it is my birthday on Tuesday, would Glasgow like to come out with me on Friday, for celebrations? I want to go to the Konaki on Sauchiehall St because it is my favourite restaurant ever, but then we could go somewhere else afterwards to meet up with non-Greek-eaters. It is quite near Stereo, but I kind of hate Stereo. It is also quite near The Tap, which has just been painted black, but I don't know whether that means it is any better than ever before. Still, who wants to come to the Konaki?
