the first episode i saw tho i think was the one from a later season where they try to go on trip somewhere but fail to leave the city
― --bob marley (lag∞n), Saturday, 20 October 2012 17:35 (thirteen years ago)
this is a show i've never really watched according to "seasons," for some reason, i just kinda pick at random. the only seasons that seem distinct are the first one (no de vito) and whatever the last one was (fat mac)
and of course charlie is the best character, fuiud

at least watch the nightman musical ep before deciding whether to continue
― Mordy, Saturday, 20 October 2012 21:44 (thirteen years ago)
I get that Devito brings a ton of wildness to this that's really necessary to break the core four out of their usual rhythms, but i just don't recognize as human someone who doesn't see Charlie as the top character here I mean come on.

This has been a cruisy season so far, but even when cruising Sunny is funnier than any other current US sitcom.

Best of the season so far. Nice to see Charlie fucking someone over rather than being fucked over.

I was kind of put off by that bit, it seemed wildly out of character to me. But good episode overall!

Last night's was gold. As fine an ending as you'll ever see.

― ya bish called wanda (Whiney G. Weingarten), Saturday, 10 November 2012 19:27 (thirteen years ago)
I guess I didn't see the new one but the meta-shenanigans and terrible secondary characters wearing out their welcome is like barf city
― ya bish called wanda (Whiney G. Weingarten), Saturday, 10 November 2012 19:49 (thirteen years ago)
Yeah it really feels like not much new is added to these characters and they are pretty much coasting on "You know how awful these people were? They're still awful people!" Maybe too many ensemble shows recently. Send Charlie off to do something on his own, etc.
― Emperor Cos Dashit (Adam Bruneau), Saturday, 10 November 2012 21:10 (thirteen years ago)
I feel like lately they're just straining to make them seem more awful, actually. That said, I really liked this episode. And it's always nice to see Kerri Kenney in anything.

My favorite episode of this season do far. Dennis's creepiness was a+
― dan selzer, Saturday, 1 December 2012 04:29 (thirteen years ago)
I agree, but the content warnings kept promising nudity and I never saw any.
― wongo hulkington's jade palace late night buffet (silby), Saturday, 1 December 2012 04:37 (thirteen years ago)
The sushi lady was naked, despite being mostly covered by sushi, it was relatively revealing for TV. Maybe that was it.
The caddy sequence was unbelievable.
― dan selzer, Saturday, 1 December 2012 05:05 (thirteen years ago)
Oh yeah, sushi lady.
― wongo hulkington's jade palace late night buffet (silby), Saturday, 1 December 2012 05:08 (thirteen years ago)
haha dennis and the caddy was unbelievable yeah. loved dennis asking mac to pitch him one of his ideas and mac being unable to come up with anything. it's also nice to be reminded that frank used to be a hot shot making big bucks before he became charlie's sleazeball friend.
― Jibe, Saturday, 1 December 2012 05:27 (thirteen years ago)
c'mon, this weeks was AWESOME.

― I wish to incorporate disco into my small business (chap), Sunday, 23 December 2012 12:51 (thirteen years ago)
Yeah it never really hit the manic stride of, say, Chardee MacDennis, which seemed to be what they were going for.

last season was kind of a bust
I liked some of last season. Kind of like some of last season, tonight wasn't that funny, but impressive concept and execution. Sometimes I wonder if I stop LOLing shows that I've watched to death, or if they change as time goes on. But in rewatching old episodes lately I've laughed out loud a few times.
― dan selzer, Thursday, 5 September 2013 04:17 (twelve years ago)
That premiere was def better than most, if not all, of last season.
