Did anybody see VA's interview on CNN?

Did that happen? I was reading conflicting bits about how he might actually appear on Thursday instead.

Makes sense that he'd be bumped with debate coverage taking up so much time today.

This is all part of his grand scheme to stay anonymous.

im don't buy the charge of hypocrisy but there are a LOT creepier things on gawker. seems to me that it speaks to redditors laziness that they don't notice how weak their favorite evidence actually is

there was a lot of talking about gawker/upskirts i that thread so i mistakenly thought he was talking about that, but on rereading he is talking about gawker posting hulk hogan's sex tape?

Hulk Hogan and his girl are adults, if I'm not mistaken.

Feel like gawker has a lot of things for different people, much like reddit, but in the end the angle is snarkiness or humor on gawker and it's usually meta in some way (coaching celebrities on upskirt?) but reddit is the pure source of content

reddit isn't a pure source of content, it's mostly shared/re-shared content from other sites, blogs, etc

Again, if Redditors want to judge Gawker by picking out the worst aspects of the site, there is probably stuff far far worse on Reddit.

i mean the 2 big differences btw reddit creepshots and gawker publishing celeb sex tapes that seem to get lost on reddit are 1) the distinction between public figures & private citizens (or generally between "news" and "not news") and 2) gawker writers publish this stuff under their irl names

distinction 1 is "real" but arguable i guess, theres a legal distinction and it seems to have been more or less settled in the court of public opinion anyway

distinction 2 strikes me as more important and yet even more ignored

creepshots, as horrible as it is, is still not the worst on reddit

let's be real,reddit vs gawker it's all moving chairs around on the titanic

that and gawker publishes this as an umbrella entity, whereas reddit as a whole tries to claim they're just a host for content and that the tone of the site isn't particularly influenced by any specific individual's interests

One of these sites is admittedly gossip trash, the other THE DIGITALLY LIBERATED FUTURE OF MANKIND.

i kind of agree with tea-drinking reddit dude that it should let its creep flag fly

but at the same time i think their attitude to creeps getting exposed should be a big shrug.

gawker doesnt really consider itself gossip trash is the thing tho
