I liked the textiles of Christopher's collection, but some of it felt kinda slapped together and it had nothing like the polish of the other 3. It made him look kinda immature next to them, I thought. and the slit on that first skirt was kinda trashy
he really kinda flamed out for me with these last 2 episodes, I felt like he was relying on how much the judges had loved him in the past to get him through, rather than showing the kind of commmitment of fabio or melissa or dmitry to just power through and get shit done

so glad dmitry won. I felt like Fabio's final collection was really impressive, and wouldn't have been upset if it had won but I'm really happy dmitry won because FINALLY SOME AMAZING GODDAMN TAILORING WINS THE DAY

melissa's was boring. well made, but big collars black white black black black white red yawn zzz

felt like the main thing fabio was missing was more of a wow finish with his last piece. I wish he'd used that concept for something fancier to really show some skillz but since he's so drapey and not really much about structure maybe that's not quite in him yet

i was worried about the silver ombre dyeing when I saw it, I was like oh fuck it looks like birdshit he's going down I just know it

but the placement kinda made it seem like the light was hitting their ponytails just so...like it was where the shine of the hair would be picked up so it wsa kinda interesting

not great,I didn't love it and it sort of ended up being a non thing, so why take the time - but at least it didn't get him in trouble

So many shots of former contestants during the fashion show, which is to me a hallmark of an insular, self-worshipping reality program, in possible decline, unmoored from the industry it pretends to still represent and more interested in celebrating the weird little world it's created for itself. That said, yay All-Stars 2!

you can't deny that dmitry's collection was pretty salable & editorial but it just comes off old, like there's this undeniably soviet hardness to his designs, but the styling made it seem so old, not elderly but def outdated

i guess i'm just curious why they went with that, as opposed to fabio, whose collection was perfectly attuned to the future fashion impulses of tumblr teens who have pastel hair and are obsessed with triangles

the judges critiques made NO sense and were obviously just invented as a way to justify his dismissal -- he was the token avant garde designer and the producers obviously intended him to be cannon fodder from the start. he should have piped up and taken credit for fixing amanda's dress! it makes me sad because he is obv super talented and shouldn't have been sent home imho, but its great that he got such wide exposure for his existing businesses. bye joe ;_;

Yeah wtf. Joe's piece wasn't that out there at all, not when compared to, say, Patricia's, which was my pick to go home, or Evil Joanna Newsom's "cupcake." And everyone piling on Allison Janney was nagl, esp. since hers ended up cuter than a lot of theirs (and definitely repped her decade more solidly than about half of them).

Anyway:
