Things Mark K0zelek has done since getting on stage before playing any music: tuned for a long time, "jokingly" demanded the show rep get his jacket from his dressing room because he's "fucking freezing," demanded the a/c be turned off, demanded that people in the front put away their cell phones.

That said he is a pretty impressive singer and guitarist.

La Lechera, I was thinking about DDPP today and thinking I might go back, too. It's mostly because I want to make a playlist of lady MCs, but I will be nice and go to a few dances before I start forcing my music on everybody else. Also I made a workout playlist, just basically songs I like a lot that are fast, and it was hard not to dance on the elliptical machine, which is frowned upon at LPAC.

Aw, some of my favorite nights were at LPAC back in the day, watching The Sopranos and Curb on Sunday nights when they still had HBO and Showtime on the little TVs, before Comcast cracked down on that...

Man, I'm decades out from my "The Emperor Wears No Clothes" days but reading that they are going to destroy all the plants made me really angry. It's part bc who cares it's pot! And part bc it's awesome that somebody put a HUGE POT FIELD in the middle of the city and I think they should get to keep it.

Wow. I don't believe in destroying plants unless they are invasive and/or threatening in some way. These plants are not threatening since apparently they've been there long enough to grow and appear to be well cared for.

does anyone want to play music with me the weekend of oct 13/14? i don't have anything going on with @dvance b@se for a while and i have a hankering to play guitar again. i'd be down with renting a rehearsal space if we're using drums or just at someone's apartment if we're not using drums and want to play at a reasonable volume

i have a funny voice modulating toy i can bring, and a little flute, and that keyboard that has gotten embarrassingly dusty in the last year

my synth is dusty too! it's been doing some random stuff where it will start flipping through settings when i'm not doing anything and i think it's because there's dust in it. i need to blast it with compressed air i guess.

no but i wanted to say we got food from lincoln hall on monday because bands eat half-off but their food was pretty mediocre so don't eat there. i would say go get pancakes at clarkes.

There are ton of restaurants but I can't think of any recap commendations (auto correct says) except Ido sushi on Halsted.

God. Shut up Lakeview! I'm down that way a lot and I've noticed to change in the area. Jesse is best qualified to respond, though. He even hangs out in that Panera sometimes.

They person who annoys me most near Panara is the keyboard playing guy. Too fucking loud.

Yeh he sucks. It's not just the volume, it's his shitty speakers that buzz at high volumes. I want to have a talk with him.

I didn't but I was sitting at the intersection of Cicero and 63rd about that time, a 737 flew right over the car while landing and it was pretty loud.

What was the boom? WHAT WAS THE BOOM?

did you hear it? it was only a second or two long but it was very loud and deep, didn't sound like a gun shot or a car crash

I heard no boom. I am, however, the boom king.

I didn't hear but I'm now convinces it ripped a hole in the fabric of space time and is slowly but inexorably sucking us into another, hellish dimension or releasing demons that will soon overcome the earth.

and here i was thinking it was just a boring boom that i didn't hear or care about
