Paul Ryan railing about WELFARE today. Romney's 47% remarks were "an inarticulate way to describe what we're trying to do to create prosperity and upward mobility, and reduce dependency by getting people off welfare back to work.”

timellison, Monday, 1 October 2012 04:01 (thirteen years ago)

they already got people off of welfare. 2/3 of them.

Don't worry--Robert Redford's going to jump on stage at the end and say, "I think it's important to note what subjects we haven't discussed..."

In another example of Ronnie necrophilia, GOP thinks it's got an October Suprise

taking tiger mountain (up the butt) (Alfred, Lord Sotosyn), Monday, 1 October 2012 16:41 (thirteen years ago)

ok so this is the quote, per the times: "Mr. Romney’s team has concluded that debates are about creating moments and has equipped him with a series of zingers that he has memorized and has been practicing on aides since August."

folks just imagine that in a day to day sense

goole, Monday, 1 October 2012 17:22 (thirteen years ago)

Aide: Mr. Romney, I need you to sign off on--
MR: "There you go again!"
Aide: Uh, yes. OK, please can you take a look--
MR: Did you get it?
Aide: Yes sir, that was very good.

Re: October surprise - yes, because it's absolutely inconceivable that a president with access to intel suggesting a forthcoming attack would be re-elected...

Andrew Farrell, Monday, 1 October 2012 17:28 (thirteen years ago)

Probably not much of a surprise if it's already being reported that they are going to pursue this.

That photo's first-rate--absolutely world-class.

clemenza, Monday, 1 October 2012 18:20 (thirteen years ago)

Haha! I probably shared this story elsewhere, but last year I had a bunch of meetings in our Plano office, which was formerly Perot Systems. The entire office building doubles as a museum for all of Ross Perot's random knick knacks, nearly every square inch of the hallways is covered with some kind of memorabilia or other. In order to get around, folks gave me directions like turn left at the cow skull and then right at the civil war rifle. And then, as I was going from one meeting to another, who should I see, but Mr. Perot himself wandering around the halls!

Why is there a picture of Ray Orbison on this thread?

Aimless, Monday, 1 October 2012 19:02 (thirteen years ago)

shouldn't the question be "Why isn't there a picture of Ray Orbison on every thread?"

EZ Snappin, Monday, 1 October 2012 19:10 (thirteen years ago)

Perot Museum is one of my recent clients, we are doing a massive "charitable" project for them.

Moodles, Monday, 1 October 2012 19:13 (thirteen years ago)

Every time I drive by it I think I'll find the right angle where it doesn't look hideous, but, alas, that's never happened.

I hope it's a decent kid's museum though. The city needs one.

EZ Snappin, Monday, 1 October 2012 19:15 (thirteen years ago)

"The building has a 54-foot continuous-flow escalator contained in a 150-foot glass-enclosed tube-like structure."

pplains, Monday, 1 October 2012 20:08 (thirteen years ago)

It's pretty much everything I ever imagined a Perot Museum to look like. Maybe a few more Rube Goldberg elements like the escalator, but overall very satisfying A++++++.

I just noticed that if you look at an electoral map really quickly, "Leans Romney" looks a lot like "LeAnn Rimes."

There's a lot of overlap in that Venn diagram.
