Oh man I hope Pardew chooses this moment to revert the cretinous clown he was at every previous club because he'll be mad expensive to sack now.

Dude in the background is so creepy.

Matt DC, Thursday, 27 September 2012 21:58 (thirteen years ago)

Was Pardew ever a cretinous clown though? I've just had a happy five minutes trailing the archives for him (so weird seeing long ago football posts by our ancestors) and it's pretty much all positive - other than some incomprehensible beef with Wenger circa 2006. Some kind of dance-off? No memory of this at all.

His star only wanes with his bad run from West Ham into Charlton, then he resurfaces pulling up trees at Southampton.

Ashley's motivation revealed

Henry Winter ‏@henrywinter
I honour my bets. I promised to swim the Tyne if Ashley showed long-term loyalty to Pardew #nufc. He has, fair play, so time for dip in Tyne.

In March 2006, Pardew had a dispute with Arsenal manager Arsène Wenger, after he criticised Arsenal for failing to field an English player in their UEFA Champions League win against Real Madrid.[42] Wenger suggested that Pardew was being xenophobic,[43] a claim Pardew denied, citing his marriage to a Swedish wife.[44]
In November 2006, Pardew had another dispute with Wenger after celebrating West Ham's win over Arsenal.[45] Wenger claimed he was provoked into pushing Pardew after Pardew's celebrations at West Ham's late win.[46] Wenger was later fined by the Football Association,[47] whilst Pardew was cleared of the charges in January 2007

More like Antony Worrall Thompson.

...some incomprehensible beef with Wenger circa 2006. Some kind of dance-off?
I like Pardew precisely because of that incident.

Mountain Excitement (Nasty, Brutish & Short), Thursday, 27 September 2012 22:21 (thirteen years ago)

can we get confirmation as to whether his Swedish wife is curvy or not?

syntax evasion (Noodle Vague), Thursday, 27 September 2012 22:21 (thirteen years ago)

if he had to betray british womanhood then it better have been for a big bottomed swede

Jose Mourinho, Terry's former manager at Chelsea , insisted the defender is "not a racist".
The Real Madrid coach said: "He's not racist, that's 100 per cent. Probably he had a racist comment or attitude against an opponent. Sometimes in football we do things the wrong way."

let's not go nuts, doing racist things doesn't make you a racist.

Mourinho is slightly to the right of Hitler though.

Hitler was a terrible man-manager tho

Also I thought Drogba was one of the players who wouldn't sign a statement supporting Terry along with Mikel, Anelka, and malouda?

OH FOR FUCK'S SAKE

EXCLUSIVE: Ferguson fumes at Nani after winger punches reserve midfielder Petrucci

Nani has moved a step closer to the Old Trafford exit after an incident which ended with him landing a blow on a young Manchester United team-mate. Words were exchanged between Nani and reserve team midfielder Davide Petrucci after a training ground challenge at Carrington. Nani later called the 20-year-old Italian over in the gym and the rest of the squad thought the pair would talk through their differences, but they were said to be stunned when Nani appeared to land a punch on Petrucci.

Other players quickly stepped in to prevent further trouble. United manager Sir Alex Ferguson is still said to be considering what disciplinary action to take against the frustrated Portugal winger, who was hauled off at half-time against Liverpool last week following an abject first-half performance. Ferguson is believed to be fuming over the incident, which took place earlier this week and will only harden his resolve to offload Nani at the first opportunity.

Gervinho isn't a striker

Ismael Klata, Saturday, 29 September 2012 11:49 (thirteen years ago)

Arsenal should've signed Andy Carroll purely to unleash him on Terry today

Ismael Klata, Saturday, 29 September 2012 11:50 (thirteen years ago)

nice to see the jenkster back, hope he starts some shit

dunno about commentators using the proper "oskaaa" pronunciation tbh

r|t|c, Saturday, 29 September 2012 11:55 (thirteen years ago)

Gervinho is a striker like Cesc is a striker. Poor old Giroud. Not expecting much from this game tbh.
Arsenal aren't fun anymore.

pandemic, Saturday, 29 September 2012 11:56 (thirteen years ago)

Arteta's been good this calender year. Did he play this deep for Everton or has he reinvented his game?

pandemic, Saturday, 29 September 2012 11:57 (thirteen years ago)

Also if Ramsey is preferred to you as a right sided attacker then you should really have a look at yourself Theo.

pandemic, Saturday, 29 September 2012 11:58 (thirteen years ago)

meh start but this looks like arsenal or 0-0 all day long

r|t|c, Saturday, 29 September 2012 12:00 (thirteen years ago)

think if gervinho's getting starts ahead of you then theo's well within his rights to kick up a fuss

oh look diaby's injured

r|t|c, Saturday, 29 September 2012 12:02 (thirteen years ago)

never

pandemic, Saturday, 29 September 2012 12:02 (thirteen years ago)

lol diaby shot the ball too hard apparently

r|t|c, Saturday, 29 September 2012 12:03 (thirteen years ago)

Is not playing Theo
a) purely a football decision
b) trying to make him realise that he is in no way worthy of 100k per week

losing Diaby's a disaster, he's been phenomenal for them

Arteta was out for a long time the year before he left Everton, him dropping deep is supposed to be an answer to him losing pace as a result xps

Ismael Klata, Saturday, 29 September 2012 12:11 (thirteen years ago)

xxp kind of shit but quite funny
