my housemate came with me and held my hand and did not laugh too loudly when i asked her whether this thing was a garlic :)
i bought potatoes (the quantity and type would have paralysed me had i been there on my own), two courgettes (didn't quite recognise them not cut up!) and a garlic thing, and we ascertained that we already have a bag of kale in the house that i (he) can use
then i had to deal with buying double cream
but i have emerged unscathed
