Except in hexadecimal or something.

in order to go all the way up to Z it would have to be hexaicosimal

sell it, mitt!

"Small businesses most typically pay taxes at the individual tax rate. And so our individual income taxes are the ones I want to reform. Make them simpler. I want to bring the rates down. By the way, don't be expecting a huge cut in taxes because I'm also going to lower deductions and exemptions. But by bringing rates down we will be able to let small businesses keep more of their money so they can hire more people."

The airplane window thing is killing me. What a weird guy.

Emperor Cos Dashit (Adam Bruneau), Wednesday, 26 September 2012 16:59 (thirteen years ago)

its was a joke, no

lag∞n, Wednesday, 26 September 2012 16:59 (thirteen years ago)

i sorta suspect his romney cheer thing was meant as a joke, too, but it just plays terribly for a would-be alpha guy.

you got mayo in my paleo (Hunt3r), Wednesday, 26 September 2012 17:04 (thirteen years ago)

even as a joke, it's kind of weird to go to the press and make jokes about your wife opening the windows on a plane because it had to make an emergency landing, and it totally undercuts the presumably sincere concern for her wellbeing shown at the beginning of the quote

cake-like Lady Gaga (DJP), Wednesday, 26 September 2012 17:06 (thirteen years ago)

I like Pareene's take:

When you, the major daily newspaper, get to the point where your official in-house fact checker is not just calling one of your columnists dishonest but also practically mocking his arguments as ridiculous, maybe you should reconsider some of your hiring strategies. (Knowing the Post it will probably choose more dishonest former presidential speechwriters and fewer “fact checkers.”) This is different from being taken to task by an ombudsman or public editor; they’re quasi-independent entities hired specifically to criticize the paper. This is the newspaper’s official arbiter of truthfulness saying a paid Washington Post columnist is not just a liar but a shitty one.

that is terrible delivery if that was intended to be a joke

someone needs to pull a jumper off his circuit board and reset his BIOS

cake-like Lady Gaga (DJP), Wednesday, 26 September 2012 17:10 (thirteen years ago)

i can't tell for sure if he meant it as a joke or not, but ann certainly doesn't throw in an "oh, mitt" chuckle or anything.

da croupier, Wednesday, 26 September 2012 17:14 (thirteen years ago)

though if anyone's used to ignoring his rambling it's her

da croupier, Wednesday, 26 September 2012 17:15 (thirteen years ago)

I watched it and its great delivery imo

I watch golf. I admire the game. But no matter how much Tiger works out, or any golfer for that matter, I don't consider them athletes. There's nothing athletic about golf.

Johnny Fever, Wednesday, 26 September 2012 17:34 (thirteen years ago)

oh sure there is.

goole, Wednesday, 26 September 2012 17:35 (thirteen years ago)

'nothing' is a bit much

mookieproof, Wednesday, 26 September 2012 17:36 (thirteen years ago)

Lots of activity. You have to pick up the balls and walk to the next hole.

taking tiger mountain (up the butt) (Alfred, Lord Sotosyn), Wednesday, 26 September 2012 17:36 (thirteen years ago)

if old people can be really good at something, its not a sport

iatee, Wednesday, 26 September 2012 17:37 (thirteen years ago)

come on, you don't have to disparage golf or old people to find that opinion completely ridiculous on a number of levels.

free-range chicken pox (Matt P), Wednesday, 26 September 2012 17:39 (thirteen years ago)

even accepting that golfers are athletes, its not a popular sport therefor the talent pool isnt v big, so its just not comparable to something like basketball where the competition to be the best is much greater, might as well argue that michael phelps is the greatest athlete of the 21st century

lag∞n, Wednesday, 26 September 2012 17:39 (thirteen years ago)

Geo Carlin was right again: "hit a ball, walk after it, gtfo"

old people cant really be good at golf. one of things that made nicklaus the best was that he was winning majors at 42
