I don't disagree with what you're saying, s1ocki, but Torontonians have good reason to feel the occasional moments of victimization. Toronto gets trashed a whole lot in the press and in person by like everybody and (beyond the fact that Toronto absorbs tonnes of $ and manpower from all over Canada) it's weird and surprising, considering that a) this city is pretty great and b) nobody here ever trash-talks Montreal, like, ever, Montreal is beautiful and we love to visit and would move there in a heartbeat

tbh i mostly take the attitude that its better to just go out and do/create cool stuff than bitch abt the fact that the same circle of bougie mediocrities gets all the coverage/funding/advantages blah blah blah but theres some merit to that general criticism - i think the way a lot of toronto stuff is structured is p terrible and insider-y in a poisonous way, its sort of a lot to get into tho rn rh tho

i don't even really want to talk about this tbh, i rarely talk about toronto here in mtl, i feel like this is all because of my joke about my mtlness mitigating the torontoness of my trampoline halls!

I talked about it on a couple other threads but I've had shitty shitty food poisoning for the past 12 days, three more days of antibiotics and hopefully it'll be gone. It was a whole roast suckling pig I ate on my birthday with my inlaws and they urged me to eat of warious parts of the animal that I ought not to have done (the brain, the ear). It's been a bilious, delirious and creative couple of weeks

this time of year is so nice. everyone has me so spooked about winter, here, but it's so good right now. it's like those days at the end of summer where, if you're out in the day just wearing a t-shirt, it's just-about too cold to walk home in the same clothes. but you can almost celebrate the season by doing that & just dealing with the fact that it's fine to be only-just too cold. everyone is all wintered up but it isn't bad, yet. i am walking around with my coat open. it's okay. i guess it will be bad soon, but at the moment it's just pretty & brisk & you feel very conscious of any exposed skin & you get home & warm up.

favourite thing today is seeing people walk those huge elliptic curves to get around the puddles under sidewalks

least favourite thing yesterday: total inability to gauge where the sidewalk ends/road begins

i am getting pretty into the realfeel weather forecast element on my phone & can't decide whether to be freaked by tonight being -8, real feel -23 WRT wednesday being actual-minus-twenty-three at its warmest.

oh geez now it's just getting real again. I remember for the first few years I lived here (starting 2002) the whole week of my birthday (this week) was -20 to -35, usually on the colder end, often with worse windchill. The -42 windchill days I just didn't leave the house.

The wind tonight was blowing in all the directions.
