pixar cars are popular. they should have cute cartoon voices for the kids.

Any hatchbacks with SUV pretensions are gross, actually, from Nissan to Porsche

WTH is it about those Nissan mini-SUVs that causes them to be owned by the most lazy wankers imaginable? A couple of weeks ago I was walking past the corner shop when one pulled up outside, and a fairly young guy got out and went into the shop. I kept walking down the road, and a couple of minutes later I was passing the office of a small ad exec/marketing, when this same Nissan came up and parked in one of the spaces out front. Same guy gets out, and for a second he looked at me before scurrying sheepishly inside. I didn't say anything, but I suppose I did have a look on my face that said "WTF? why didn't you just walk?"

I internally (and externally to my gf) refer to hatchback-turned-SUV drivers collectively as "Muranos". Especially when they zoom by on the right when traffic is backed up and then wedge their way back in.

the hatchback suvs are called crossovers an fwiw theyre totally just tall cars, theyre built on car frames as opposed to suvs which are built on truck frames

they're annoying. that over-stuffed thing. subconsciously they make me think of bloated consumer culture or something radical like that. like a car that ate too much on thanksgiving.

is there anything from the 80's that everyone thought was hideous and now people think its kinda funky/cool? and will this ever happen to anything from the 90's? cuz obviously there are 70's and 60's things like that. belated AMC love and all that.

so lame when things go fierce, nfl logos, headlights, etc
― lag∞n, Saturday, 22 September 2012 20:16 (thirteen years ago)
i love it when the driver's face mimics the expression his or her car is making though. which is usually the case with angry headlight cars.

I still maintain that cars looked much better before scientists discovered wind tunnels

what's with stage platform grills, is that a wind tunnel thing too i wonder? all new cars look like flash websites basically.
dodge magnums are pretty ugly but i secretly shamefully kind of like them.

its not just windtunnels its the technology to easily make car bodies into any old shape that has really just given designers way too many option

The AMC Eagle was a fun car to drive.
I didn't have any luck finding the right model online, but my first car was a silver 1983 Relient K Car SE Station Wagon. With beautiful creamish clothe interiors. Hideous inside and out and an utterly crap car to drive.
