basically any commenting system that doesnt display comments in chronological order from first to last makes absolutely no sense to me

It certainly is chronological, though, they just have a personal reply system in the threads.

threaded comments with up/down votes for visibility + a lil alien bro

doesnt it automatically sort them by "hotness" or something

ya i just looked and comments are default sorted by best, tho you can change that to top, new, hot, controversial, or old

I like reddit for nichey stuff. good Toronto community on there (my previous haunt, Toronto LJ, has become stagnant)
Nail polish and makeup communities. TV stuff. All useless goofy stuff like that, but entertaining when I am bored or want to pick apart Project Runway episodes.
