Dieter Brummer and Dean Cain were big in my school.
I tolerated Jason Donovan because he was occasionally in my Kylie posters but I wasn't really feeling it.

kinder, Tuesday, 18 September 2012 17:33 (thirteen years ago)

yeah I wasn't big on Jason Donovan

set the controls for the heart of the sun (VegemiteGrrl), Tuesday, 18 September 2012 17:34 (thirteen years ago)

Americans don't even know who Jason Donovan was for the most part.

(✿◠‿◠) (ENBB), Tuesday, 18 September 2012 17:35 (thirteen years ago)

Which I think is funny considering how famous he was elsewhere.

(✿◠‿◠) (ENBB), Tuesday, 18 September 2012 17:36 (thirteen years ago)

Harley Cross kinda looks like Darlene

kinder, Tuesday, 18 September 2012 17:38 (thirteen years ago)

I remember RS being really surprised when he found out I'd never even heard of him until he came up in convo one time (as he does) and I was all like, who dat?

(✿◠‿◠) (ENBB), Tuesday, 18 September 2012 17:38 (thirteen years ago)

Jason Donovan did inspire our local kebab van, Jason Donervan

kinder, Tuesday, 18 September 2012 17:39 (thirteen years ago)

OMG THAT IS FANTASTIC

(✿◠‿◠) (ENBB), Tuesday, 18 September 2012 17:39 (thirteen years ago)

that is awesome

set the controls for the heart of the sun (VegemiteGrrl), Tuesday, 18 September 2012 17:42 (thirteen years ago)

This list was definitely made by either a British or Australian person btw.

I have just spent altogether too long trying to remember the name of the 16th-rate British soap star that all my friends cut out pictures of from TV Hits every week. I would like my brain back now please.

Anyway if it's British I'm still the wrong age since I haven't heard of half these guys and there is not enough Sean Maguire or Lee from Let Loose for it to be from my era of TV Hits UK. Prob not enough Craig McLachlan for it to be Australian and my era either.

Also, OMG, got to see how big a detour that is from our usual annual route to Bristol Airport

still small voice of clam (a passing spacecadet), Tuesday, 18 September 2012 18:10 (thirteen years ago)

absence of Alex Papps leads me to believe this was not compiled by an Australian person

set the controls for the heart of the sun (VegemiteGrrl), Tuesday, 18 September 2012 18:11 (thirteen years ago)

Paul Nicholls?

kinder, Tuesday, 18 September 2012 18:15 (thirteen years ago)

Cursory research leads me to believe she's actually american - oops. That said, she definitely had at least some sort of foreign input.

(✿◠‿◠) (ENBB), Tuesday, 18 September 2012 18:15 (thirteen years ago)

Yeah I hardly recognise any of these, not many Brits would have seen the vast majority.

kinder, Tuesday, 18 September 2012 18:16 (thirteen years ago)

so many questions

set the controls for the heart of the sun (VegemiteGrrl), Tuesday, 18 September 2012 18:16 (thirteen years ago)

Yet the presence of neighbors and H&A cast members, Donovan, Peter Andre and several others are very strange from an American perspective. Weird.

(✿◠‿◠) (ENBB), Tuesday, 18 September 2012 18:18 (thirteen years ago)

I may vote for Damon Pampolina because I read his name and got "Gasolina" stuck in my head

wtf where's my chapbook (DJP), Tuesday, 18 September 2012 18:19 (thirteen years ago)

But calling Peter Andre and J-Do 'forgotten' is kind of odd for us, because they're around quite a bit.
I saw Zach Morris on something the other day!

kinder, Tuesday, 18 September 2012 18:19 (thirteen years ago)

xp: oh god I hadn't his pic before I said that

Alex Papps, for those not in the know

http://upload.wikimedia.org/wikipedia/en/3/3c/Frank_Morgan_(Home_and_Away).jpg

In 7th grade school camp one of the girls put a poster of him on our cabin door and everyone had to kiss it as they walked out O_o

Yeah, that sort of makes it weirder and is definitely true but they aren't over here and never were. Peter Andre was on I'm a celebrity in the jungle when he got together with Katie Price while I was living over there so it was big news and his name was everywhere. I had no clue who he was before then.

(✿◠‿◠) (ENBB), Tuesday, 18 September 2012 18:21 (thirteen years ago)

The Home and Away and Neighbors casts members are so random and patchy though!

so weird that Peter Andre is still a thing in the UK

set the controls for the heart of the sun (VegemiteGrrl), Tuesday, 18 September 2012 18:22 (thirteen years ago)

Dan, admit it. That outfit is spectacular and not all that dissimilar to the ones you were wearing in certain HS pics floating found these parts.

(✿◠‿◠) (ENBB), Tuesday, 18 September 2012 18:25 (thirteen years ago)

This list was definitely made by either a British or Australian person btw. A lot of these guys were never famous in the US. For instance I have no idea who Dieter Brummer is because we never got Australian soaps.

Ha, okay, I was about to say that I guess these guys were only famous in the US. So either I'm too young or they're from Australia.

emil.y, Tuesday, 18 September 2012 18:25 (thirteen years ago)

there's only a few Australians -- and only a few brits.

THIS LIST IS A DOG'S BREAKFAST IN ANYONE'S COUNTRY

I rest my case.

About Dan's codpiece, obv.

kinder, Tuesday, 18 September 2012 18:29 (thirteen years ago)

oh no

why would they do that?!

(✿◠‿◠) (ENBB), Tuesday, 18 September 2012 18:30 (thirteen years ago)

did he dress up as a voodoo priest for the video and chase a pale white girl around a building site?

wtf where's my chapbook (DJP), Tuesday, 18 September 2012 18:31 (thirteen years ago)

noooooooooooo aggggh gross

set the controls for the heart of the sun (VegemiteGrrl), Tuesday, 18 September 2012 18:32 (thirteen years ago)

(they wouldn't... it's this awesome duo who also did a bit on Lana del Rey that killed me live, although maybe you had to "be there" (pissed) because I heard it on the radio next day and it was less amazing)

kinder, Tuesday, 18 September 2012 18:33 (thirteen years ago)

kinder: actually I think I was thinking of Danny Newman (not yet in a soap but I was probably only pretending to know who he was while everyone else was going on about how dreamy he was), but Paul Nicholls is definitely another name I couldn't remember from my class's later TV Hits dissections, yes...

By number of hours spent passing notes back and forth about him in my first year of secondary school, Edward Furlong is the clear winner here.

still small voice of clam (a passing spacecadet), Tuesday, 18 September 2012 18:39 (thirteen years ago)

watched none of his shows, but went with Jason Behr for his ears and pecs.
