F&M's second horse was called "Another Horse".

Coates is broadly 'in favour' I think, he's the next man up if either Skrtel or Agger are rested/injured/suspended. Cole still has 2 years left I think but will always be injured so don't know if Rodgers rates him or not and will probably never find out. Henderson out of favour and has 3 yrs left iirc. Would like to see Jones get a run out in EL or CC, not cos he's any good, but more as a msge to Pepe that he can't just sleepwalk through playing every game this season.
― pandemic, Monday, 17 September 2012 14:29 (thirteen years ago)
Actually Henderson might have 4 years left actually. You do less than that for serious crimes these days poor fella.
― pandemic, Monday, 17 September 2012 14:30 (thirteen years ago)
Don't actually have that many random squad players who never play types anymore tbf
― pandemic, Monday, 17 September 2012 14:31 (thirteen years ago)
coates started against city didn't he, guessing he'll be playing the europa games with carragher.
henderson's a weird one (the situation, not jordan, sure he's a lovely fella). rodgers really talked him up when he first came in, but not in a 'i don't agree that carroll can't play tiki-taka, he cost £35m ffs' kind of way, he seemed pretty sincere. don't think he'd be in his first 11 if everyone was fit, but i'd have thought he's still part of his plans? although they did try to swap him for dempsey so what do i know.
apparently doni has had to return home to brazil for personal reasons, but he's been named in the 25-man squad, so i'm guessing he'll fight it out with jones to be reina's back-up when he returns.

Didn't realize you had another Rafa-era Spanish youth signing yet to debut - Suso.
― boxall, Monday, 17 September 2012 14:39 (thirteen years ago)
I was hoping for more from Coates tbh
― Ismael Klata, Monday, 17 September 2012 14:41 (thirteen years ago)
Coates hasn't been there long enough to say, in my view.
― Know how Roo feel (LocalGarda), Monday, 17 September 2012 14:42 (thirteen years ago)
foreign young centre half? Needs a fill year tbh
― Randy Carol (darraghmac), Monday, 17 September 2012 14:43 (thirteen years ago)
suso was in the squad for sunderland. rodgers was talking about young players getting a chance last week, and named suso as one of those, so he'll probably get a europa/league cup game at some point.
― Chris, Monday, 17 September 2012 14:46 (thirteen years ago)
not comfortable with calling it the capital one cup. too many syllables.
― Chris, Monday, 17 September 2012 14:50 (thirteen years ago)
yowch, that looked sore
― skrill xx (cozen), Monday, 17 September 2012 19:04 (thirteen years ago)
Aye, I went ouch myself.
― passive-aggressive display name (aldo), Monday, 17 September 2012 19:05 (thirteen years ago)
I love watching Baines do those give-and-go moves, he could've had a goal and an assist from them already.
― boxall, Monday, 17 September 2012 19:17 (thirteen years ago)
that was tasty
― Number None, Monday, 17 September 2012 19:17 (thirteen years ago)
Mirallas maybe a bit desperate for a goal
― Number None, Monday, 17 September 2012 19:26 (thirteen years ago)
mirallas looks up for it but a bit greedy
super classy from the everton fans at the beginning
― skrill xx (cozen), Monday, 17 September 2012 19:26 (thirteen years ago)
Baines is not the only footballer who could speak as well on [Hillsborough], but he's among those most likely to. He engages, reflects on the world around him. He visited Auschwitz during Euro 2012: "It's hard to believe that's not 200 years ago but our grandparents' generation. It seems too inhumane to be so close. Recently someone gave me a book about North Korea and again you think, 'How could it happen in our time?' " Few players linger, chatting for 30 minutes after an interview, let alone to discuss the best alternative record shops in Greenwich Village and their enjoyment of writing.
― boxall, Monday, 17 September 2012 19:30 (thirteen years ago)
if he enjoys writing so much how come he stopped updating his blog? huh?
― Number None, Monday, 17 September 2012 19:32 (thirteen years ago)
Everton are so fucking good down the left. That Pienaar/Baines connection with Fellaini dropping in as and when is ruthless. Blew me away at Villa Park a few weeks back, and they've been doing the same again tonight. "He Ain't Heavy, He's My Brother" was great.
― Windsor Davies, Monday, 17 September 2012 19:47 (thirteen years ago)
Haven't been much impressed with Pienaar, Baines very good though.
― boxall, Monday, 17 September 2012 19:48 (thirteen years ago)
Pienaar being a bit greedy, but I'm talking more about the link-play between them, so tidy. In fairness to Pienaar, he did score an absolute thumper against Villa the other week, so I can sort of see why he keeps going for goal. Doesn't excuse selfishness though.
― Windsor Davies, Monday, 17 September 2012 19:51 (thirteen years ago)
Love to hear Gary Nev ragging on "Philip".
― Windsor Davies, Monday, 17 September 2012 20:00 (thirteen years ago)
they had a delightfully awkward video interview the other week
― Number None, Monday, 17 September 2012 20:01 (thirteen years ago)
Howard got done there
― Number None, Monday, 17 September 2012 20:10 (thirteen years ago)
Yeah that was odd, either his defender blocked his line of sight or he put far too much weight leaning near post.
― boxall, Monday, 17 September 2012 20:11 (thirteen years ago)
great game
― skrill xx (cozen), Monday, 17 September 2012 20:15 (thirteen years ago)
Good fun...

I've really, really not been paying much attention over the last few months, so forgive my ignorance, but what's the story with Ba? I could have sworn he was officially on his way towards the end of last season (despite his great first half to the season) as Cisse was favoured. Did I imagine this?
― Mountain Excitement (Nasty, Brutish & Short), Monday, 17 September 2012 20:23 (thirteen years ago)
Nice of Harper
― Mountain Excitement (Nasty, Brutish & Short), Monday, 17 September 2012 20:24 (thirteen years ago)
He was still playing most matches iirc, just shunted out to the left wing to accommodate Cisse.
― boxall, Monday, 17 September 2012 20:25 (thirteen years ago)
Yeah. Quite gentlemanly of him.
― The windiest militant trash (Michael White), Monday, 17 September 2012 20:25 (thirteen years ago)
It was reported for a day or so in early summer that he'd been transferred to Besiktas or similar, but that was clearly bollocks.
― Ismael Klata, Monday, 17 September 2012 20:33 (thirteen years ago)
well there was the whole release clause deadline business. If that was even real
― Number None, Monday, 17 September 2012 20:35 (thirteen years ago)
That's two that Everton should have scored, now.
― The windiest militant trash (Michael White), Monday, 17 September 2012 20:35 (thirteen years ago)
PLAY THE FUCKING ADVANTAGE!
― Mountain Excitement (Nasty, Brutish & Short), Monday, 17 September 2012 20:38 (thirteen years ago)
Wow, this is crazy - that was probably 2 goals that should've been, one for each side, in 15 seconds.
― boxall, Monday, 17 September 2012 20:39 (thirteen years ago)
Ugh...
― The windiest militant trash (Michael White), Monday, 17 September 2012 20:39 (thirteen years ago)
ffs ref x 2
― r|t|c, Monday, 17 September 2012 20:39 (thirteen years ago)
well that is one of the worst passages of officiating you'll ever see
― Number None, Monday, 17 September 2012 20:39 (thirteen years ago)
yup
― Mountain Excitement (Nasty, Brutish & Short), Monday, 17 September 2012 20:41 (thirteen years ago)
altho he's probably done himself a relative favour compared to if newcastle had gone up and scored tbf
― r|t|c, Monday, 17 September 2012 20:41 (thirteen years ago)
Mirallas really does not look at his teammates ever, does he.
― boxall, Monday, 17 September 2012 20:42 (thirteen years ago)
yeah, he may have had a suspicion it was over
― Number None, Monday, 17 September 2012 20:42 (thirteen years ago)

― Mountain Excitement (Nasty, Brutish & Short), Monday, 17 September 2012 20:48 (thirteen years ago)
must be some sort of strange gust of cosmic wind if it's anichebe doing that
― r|t|c, Monday, 17 September 2012 20:49 (thirteen years ago)
good game
― skrill xx (cozen), Monday, 17 September 2012 20:49 (thirteen years ago)
Wow!
― The windiest militant trash (Michael White), Monday, 17 September 2012 20:50 (thirteen years ago)
