ok, so assume question is valid. or that someone can be striving for something that no longer exists.

I think one of the only areas in which NBC wins out is in the nightly news sector. Brian Williams seems to be liked by most everyone, but he's nowhere near having the influence of Walter Kronkite.

Johnny Fever, Tuesday, 4 September 2012 23:03 (thirteen years ago)

cronkite didn't have the influence of cronkite tbh

balls, Tuesday, 4 September 2012 23:04 (thirteen years ago)

fuxk, why do I always want to spell Cronkite with a K?

Johnny Fever, Tuesday, 4 September 2012 23:04 (thirteen years ago)

i don't have cable so i haven't seen much other than a few clips, but going with chris hayes just because i liked his columns for the nation so much back in the day.

Thanks WEBSITE!! (Z S), Tuesday, 4 September 2012 23:06 (thirteen years ago)

alex wagner because HOT

k3vin k., Tuesday, 4 September 2012 23:07 (thirteen years ago)

Brian Williams is scary because he's a blank. Remember when crusty William Holden complained about TV babies? He meant Brian Williams. The guy offers no inflections, turns of phrase, or even warmth. He's a guy with varnished looks who reads briefs.

(I'm a partisan of the late Peter Jennings partisan)

a regina spektor is haunting europe (Alfred, Lord Sotosyn), Tuesday, 4 September 2012 23:11 (thirteen years ago)

Williams is blank at the desk, but always funny and charming elsewhere.

I loved Peter Jennings. He was the best.

Johnny Fever, Tuesday, 4 September 2012 23:12 (thirteen years ago)

He's great on 30 Rock though.

Legendary General Cypher Raige (Gukbe), Tuesday, 4 September 2012 23:13 (thirteen years ago)

I agree that Alex Wagner is totally adorbs, btw. I just can't vote for her.

Voted Krystal Ball cos

Ball's father, Edward Ball, was born in West Virginia and has a Ph.D. in physics. Her mother, Rose Marie Ball, is an educator in King George County, Virginia. The name Krystal came from her father, a physicist who did his dissertation on crystals.

Emperor Cos Dashit (Adam Bruneau), Tuesday, 4 September 2012 23:17 (thirteen years ago)

Kornacki writes decent stuff for Salon, but I don't watch this BS.

I'd like to see Ed Schultz eaten slowly by wolves.

People do not remember but the entire quote went:

"If I've lost Cronkite, I've lost Middle America. Will no one rid me of this troublesome news anchor?"

Aimless, Wednesday, 5 September 2012 02:42 (thirteen years ago)

ok this Hayes guy is okay on the DNC coverage but his show seems much more promising.

Legendary General Cypher Raige (Gukbe), Wednesday, 5 September 2012 18:00 (thirteen years ago)

there's some folks missing--mr. born on 3rd and thought he hit a triple luke russert and the foxy Tamron Hall. It's too hard to pick one semi-acceptable one. Much rather "most hated" in which case I would choose Willie Geist...is he a bro, a frat guy, a d-bag, which? He's also part of Nepotism Broadcast Corporation (son of the irritatingly unfunny Bill Geist on CBS Sunday Morning)

Iago Galdston, Thursday, 6 September 2012 00:14 (thirteen years ago)

I guess I find Tamron the least offensive. I way, way left of MSNBC but Chris Hayes and Rachel Maddow have that NPR smugness that I just can't take

Iago Galdston, Thursday, 6 September 2012 00:15 (thirteen years ago)

Tamron Hall is there.

I only included people that host shows, leaving off contributors like Luke because that would go on forever and I would probably have to include people like Richard Wolffe.

Legendary General Cypher Raige (Gukbe), Thursday, 6 September 2012 00:17 (thirteen years ago)

Michael Ian Black ‏@michaelianblack
Chris Hayes looks like the lovechild between Rachel Maddow and Chris Hayes.

OK that's sort of funny...

Iago Galdston, Thursday, 6 September 2012 00:18 (thirteen years ago)

Oh OK, sorry about that Gubke...xp

Iago Galdston, Thursday, 6 September 2012 00:18 (thirteen years ago)

MHP for the win - her weekend show is awesome, they get all liberal arts seminar academic instead of just arguing about the news of the day. I like Hayes' weekend show too but I haven't seen it as much since it's on so early.

Maddow is so good at television and as an anchor of MSNBC election/convention coverage. I def enjoy watching her show but it gets a little cutesy and aggravating when she spends whole segments on silly stuff - soundbites of the day blown out of proportion, that sort of thing.

seriously, THIS GUY (daria-g), Thursday, 6 September 2012 00:33 (thirteen years ago)

Haven't seen any of these folks since cutting cable almost a year ago. Voted for Tamron Hall because she's ridiculously hot.

Another Jennings fan. One of my mom's formative childhood experiences was watching Jennings run through the jungle in Vietnam trying not to get shot. Kinda hard to imagine any of the above doing that.

I also liked The Abrams Report way back when...

Frobisher the (Viceroy), Sunday, 23 September 2012 23:59 (thirteen years ago)

I thought they should've given Ratigan the primetime show instead of Lawrence O'Donnell (much hate for that guy).

Johnny Fever, Monday, 24 September 2012 00:22 (thirteen years ago)

I even bought Ratigan's book but it was mostly a diagram with descriptive paragraphs.

the msnbc dudes made me almost feel bad for rudy giuliani after the debate last night.. they basically brought him on to yell at and berate to take their debate frustrations out on. it was a pretty juvenile display..

johnathan lee riche$ (mayor jingleberries), Thursday, 4 October 2012 16:53 (thirteen years ago)

Chris Hayes' Homeland Security zing was great though.

I didn't answer your biased reporting about Bernie during the last 2 years @JoyAnnReid. But don't ever use me to demean my husband. I am very happy & very proud to be Bernie's wife.
