― set the controls for the heart of the sun (VegemiteGrrl), Tuesday, 4 September 2012 22:15 (thirteen years ago)
yeah i've been thinking how anything w/ walt comes to light w/o hank being heavily incriminated or at a minimum his career over. even if walt manages to sell 'i was trapped, i was a low level figure, i just cooked, i was desperate dying of cancer and wanted to leave money for my family. i will rat out everybody in this interstate international empire.' i still don't know how hank survives that.
― balls, Tuesday, 4 September 2012 22:15 (thirteen years ago)
hanks gonna try to protect them, get them in witness protection isnt he, even if he doesnt believe walts story
― lag∞n, Tuesday, 4 September 2012 22:17 (thirteen years ago)
it is his sister and niece and nephew and he's been buying walt's sob stories all season. really would like to thank the internet for planting the 'holly's a goner' idea btw cuz now every time i see her that's all i think - chekov's baby.
― balls, Tuesday, 4 September 2012 22:19 (thirteen years ago)
Hank's wife cannot keep a secret. Also, she can pick up on other people's inner turmoil, just enough to react.
― dow, Tuesday, 4 September 2012 22:27 (thirteen years ago)
"chekov's baby"?
― dow, Tuesday, 4 September 2012 22:28 (thirteen years ago)

Oh that Chekov--what about his baby?
― dow, Tuesday, 4 September 2012 22:33 (thirteen years ago)
they kept showing her and showing her and you kept thinking 'why do they keep showing chekov's baby?' and then they killed her (ripped apart by warriguls iirc) so now whenever a show keeps showing a baby over and over it means that baby gonna die. this is called 'chekov's baby'.
― balls, Tuesday, 4 September 2012 22:41 (thirteen years ago)
nice work chekhov
― Matt Armstrong, Tuesday, 4 September 2012 22:42 (thirteen years ago)
yeah it doesn't look great how Hank investigated everyone in the operation but Walt... and everyone but Jesse ended up dead.
― Matt Armstrong, Tuesday, 4 September 2012 22:45 (thirteen years ago)
When Walt Jr. was wheeling Holly around the pool while everybody was all happy and chatting, I was sure that they were both going to fall in and drown without anyone noticing until it was too late. Or Marie's weird sunscreen was actually flammable and Skyler was going to accidentally set her on fire when she ducked out for a mid-dinner cigarette.
― carl agatha, Tuesday, 4 September 2012 22:48 (thirteen years ago)
or a plane was going to crash into the pool or a swat team would burst through the patio door

Vince, because he can't lay back, said in some interview the other day that it's going to end so dark he's not sure if people will stick with it. The only thing that can be that bad is offing some of the innocent White family, alas. I wouldn't put it past this show to kill just about anyone short of Walt, in fact. Which, again, sort of parallels the end of "The Shield." Like, what if the cold open of this season is simply Walt's perpetual life, with everyone dead and him constantly on the run?
Can't believe we have to wait so long for resolution, grrr.
― Josh in Chicago, Tuesday, 4 September 2012 22:54 (thirteen years ago)
so I kept falling asleep during this episode and was really confused by the end. Do I need to rescreen it?
― Aceveda (admrl), Tuesday, 4 September 2012 22:54 (thirteen years ago)
Yes. Great how Marie is always so earnestly keyed-up, the opposite of (big sister?)Skyler, the quietly desperate, maybe now truly crazy one. Also great to see them both show up on The Soup sometimes. This whole thing better not end with Walt dying of tragic irony, while protecting the family he's so endangered. That would really be some TV shit.
― dow, Tuesday, 4 September 2012 22:57 (thirteen years ago)
It wasn't very complicated, so probably?
― pun lovin criminal (polyphonic), Tuesday, 4 September 2012 22:58 (thirteen years ago)
OMG they're probably arguing about that very ending right now.
― dow, Tuesday, 4 September 2012 23:00 (thirteen years ago)
xp
yeah but I was really sleepy. I had drank some cocktails
― Aceveda (admrl), Tuesday, 4 September 2012 23:21 (thirteen years ago)

― Nhex, Wednesday, 5 September 2012 02:55 (thirteen years ago)
ya that seems p spot on
― lag∞n, Wednesday, 5 September 2012 04:42 (thirteen years ago)
hank's answer could be to straight up kill walt, seems like the right solution, nuke em from orbit only way to be sure

They must have been saving "Crystal Blue Persuasion" for quite a while huh?The music and its usage has been consistently great in this show, from hiring a Narcocorridor to sing about Heisenberg, to the monkees. and the "On A Clear Day You Can See Forever" by the pedlers which is just amazing and i had never heard before. I thought "Up the junction" playing in the background of the pool scene was kind of random, but the tension in that scene was palpable so i guess it worked.

I think Holly is the more obvious sacrifice they'd make but that Walt Jr is who will die - Walt Jr who started the little website to pay for his dad's chemo, Walt Jr who deserves better than this family. Not that Holly doesn't, but her death would be The Death of A Baby. Walt Jr's death is somebody you've known since episode one.

perhaps walt will do it

SKyler gets Jessie to testify, Walt kills 'em both. There was no alternative.
― stet, Wednesday, 5 September 2012 08:03 (thirteen years ago)
how come skylar never just took the kids and fucked off? why stay in this house? in misery and fear?
― TracerHandVEVO (Tracer Hand), Wednesday, 5 September 2012 08:10 (thirteen years ago)
At which point? She had no money most of the time, by the time she did had reason to be fearful of repurcussions from or surrounding Walt
― itt: i forgot that he yells at a butt (sic), Wednesday, 5 September 2012 08:18 (thirteen years ago)
She actually tried to in season 3 or 4. Went to the 4 corners with holly, flipped a coin, couldn't bring herself to do it.
― Clay, Wednesday, 5 September 2012 09:10 (thirteen years ago)
maybe walt dies, resulting in skylar king
― * The "no hands" rule can be compared to socialist tax policies (Autumn Almanac), Wednesday, 5 September 2012 09:16 (thirteen years ago)
skylar king
sigh nm
I mean at the beginning of the season when she found out about Fring. The Mike/Jesse/Walt operation wasn't pulling in Czech amounts but it was still quite a bit, enough for her to take a percentage and walk with the kids. I know she wasn't exactly in her right mind but she seemed to be thinking clearly enough to know that basically her family was in mortal danger.
― TracerHandVEVO (Tracer Hand), Wednesday, 5 September 2012 09:28 (thirteen years ago)
Yeah, that's sort of a good question. For a while her number one priority was to keep the family together, but lately ... not so much. I think at this point she knows she's complicit in the whole scheme.

― pplains, Wednesday, 5 September 2012 13:52 (thirteen years ago)
doesn't the "wackin' Bin Laden wasn't this complicated?" line totally fuck w/ the assumption that the show started in 2008 and the story is now in like 2009? smh if LOST was better than this show at remembering what year it takes place in.
― some dude, Wednesday, 5 September 2012 13:54 (thirteen years ago)
er didn't mean to have a question mark in the quote
with skyler, i figure the main reason she has to stay is cos walt jr wouldn't go with her and would have a big freakout.
