Well, assuming Walt is on the run in the next half-season, we know the myriad reasons why (maybe), not least that you can't enter into multi-million dollar distribution deals with southwest networks and international interests and then suddenly say "I'm out." You also don't get in bed with the Aryan brotherhood and then just say "I'm out." And I have no idea how the Hank stuff will play out, unless Walt devises a sob story and convinces Hank he'd been exploited and then turns witness (which seems implausible). And I have absolutely no idea even as far as guesses go what role Jesse will play. Was the implication he had the gun to answer the door and talk to Walt because he was afraid? Or was the implication that he was going nuts, and this blood money that followed him home was making him suicidal?

There's also the matter that the show keeps reminding us of the ricin, the top Chekov's gun of the show. Who will bear its quietly lethal brunt? Perhaps voting for Walt at this point.

There's a "behind the scenes" clip that comes with the iTunes download of the show (maybe on the regular show, too, I don't know) and in it, Vince Gilligan, Dean Norris, and Brian Cranston straight up said that Hank now knows Walt is Heisenberg and that is the driving force behind the remainder of the show.

Also Vince Gilligan said that the ending was a literal "oh shit" moment, and I wondered if he reads ILX.

It's quite a leap to surmise his cancer's come back based on what we saw in this episode.

it's not certain, but 'quite a leap' is... quite a leap, considering we saw him get a scan for the first time in i don't know how many seasons. clearly, they're indicating that something may be up again.

You also don't get in bed with the Aryan brotherhood and then just say "I'm out."

it's not like he went into business with them - he paid them probably a ton of money to do a job. what, are they gonna insist he keep coming up with people for them to hit?

Madrigal and Phoenix dudes might be irritated though.

Aryan Bros probably thrilled that Todd is getting all this awesome on the job training frankly.

Since they didn't really make anything of the scan in the episode as far as consultation etc, I just took it to be routine. It's possible for someone in remission to have a precautionary scan just to confirm that there's no further growth.

And harkening back to the punched-in napkin dispenser felt more like rememberance of things past.

yeah I don't see it as a loose end either. he hired them to do a job, they did it, they got paid, everybody's happy.

why would the AB be unhappy? they were expecting a never-ending supply of inside hit jobs?

They're totally happy. But they're a criminal enterprise behind the brazen murder of 9 inmates, all directly involved in the Madrigal investigation, killings prominent enough that it got local news coverage. I imagine the DEA won't shrug and simply let it slide. They'll shake some trees. And beyond that, Todd is directly connected to them, too. And in turn directly connected to Walt. His whole world is loose ends.

Based on murmurings, I'm a little worried that none of Walt's family will make it out of this alive. Or at least not everyone.

Walter wouldn't have gotten the results from a scan he just had. He's likely learned his lesson from peeking over the operator's shoulder at the monitor.

The show has also shown him getting routine scans in the past, like the time he was chilling in the locker room with some other cancer man, telling him to stop his yapping.

There's more to infer from his little coughs in the future then there is from the scan scenes.

That scene of Walt saying he's out comes after a visit to the doctor's office. Is it safe to say his human side came out of whatever he learned at that doctor's office? How important will that be in the end game of the show?

Good attention to detail there. The best way to put it is, we really try never to have a scene in our show that adds up to nothing. Every scene - if you go to the trouble of asking your crew to build a set and shoot a scene, it damn well ought to be important. So going forward, every scene is important. There were probably a lot of good reasons for Walt to walk into the kitchen and say to his wife, "I'm out." She gave him a damn good one at the end of the previous act, when she showed him all that money. She basically explained to him that this is just a giant pile of paper that, at this point, we can't even do anything with. How much is enough? How big does this pile have to be? That right there, that's a good reason to quit.

aryan brotherhood i could see playing in the future in that walt is teaching todd to cook so maybe they want to take over walts operation installing todd as head cook, but also theres only 8 eps left so who knows

its not clear what he did with his business... did he hand it over to todd? dismantle it completely? im sure all that stuff is comin tho

one thing that could happen is walt gets busted by hank he claims hes been coerced to cook meth by the aryan bros via threats of violence goes into witness protection in new hampshire then drives back to zona to kill them all w/a huge gun because hes mad

Going back to the restroom, I think the first time Walt punched the dispenser, it was because he saw Heisnberg looking back at him.

This time though, it was Heisenberg seeing his reflection and he was all, "What's up, handsome?"

I still want to know what happened to the videotapes of Jesse showing the cartel how to make Blue Sky.
