thinking about this some more my bet is that Walt has to kill Jesse at some point in the last season, sort of like Tony killing Chrissie... dude's a liability to Walt, and it's the logical endpoint of their relationship.

actually the only reason I think they won't have walt kill jesse is because of the sopranos echo

on a details level yeah, but in a broadstrokes way it's similar - criminal father figure killing the protege he's spent the entire series protecting, I mean how often does that happen in TV

The number of people who could conceivably want to kill Walt are countless. I can even imagine Saul getting hired by Skyler to do it.

hey I watched this whole series in like the last month, it was like an episode to episode thing

but I did call Mike's murder at the beginning of this most recent episode. I called Fring killing Victor, and Walt using Salamanca to kill Fring. And the kid shooting Combo. And Jesse's girlfriend dying (altho not the manner in which she died). I did not call Walt running over those two dealers, that was probably the biggest surprise moment/WTF to me.

Walt hatches plan to whack Mike's 9 dudes on the inside. things go wrong. Hank inches closer to discovering Walt, finds some random piece of evidence from Mike's murder or the kid's disappearance that could potentially lead him to Walt. Lydia probably gets murdered.

I've been watching the entire series over the past month as well - so I hadn't seen the Saul website before. I heard the show was very good but the first time I went to check it out, I flipped on AMC and caught the @)!#* BOX CUTTER scene with no context whatsoever and after that happened, figured I should really try something else, it seemed way too grim

I totally predicted he would kill someone with a box cutter that episode.

Plan to whack 9 dudes has been telegraphed since the list was introduced by Lydia, no surprise there. "Hank inches closer to discovering Walt" is the theme of the last two seasons. Mike goes missing, who Hank was investigating, and Hank takes notice? The hell you say. And then Lydia, a minor character with almost no substance, dies? all right then
