Shall we anticipate the FIFTH SEASON of the AMC series "Breaking Bad"? I think I may.

okay so you guys have NOT seen this website before...

chicago rap twitter luminary (Shakey Mo Collier), Wednesday, 29 August 2012 19:54 (thirteen years ago)

thinking about this some more my bet is that Walt has to kill Jesse at some point in the last season, sort of like Tony killing Chrissie... dude's a liability to Walt, and it's the logical endpoint of their relationship.

chicago rap twitter luminary (Shakey Mo Collier), Wednesday, 29 August 2012 19:56 (thirteen years ago)

actually the only reason I think they won't have walt kill jesse is because of the sopranos echo

vincent black shadow giallo (Edward III), Wednesday, 29 August 2012 20:09 (thirteen years ago)

"okay so you guys have NOT seen this website before..."

I think we had, but most of us forgot how much gold was there.

Fig On A Plate Cart (Alex in SF), Wednesday, 29 August 2012 20:11 (thirteen years ago)

I could see todd killing jesse and being all like "what, he was a threat to US"

it's not quite the same thing... if anything it's the other way around

Author ~ Coach ~ Goddess (s1ocki), Wednesday, 29 August 2012 20:14 (thirteen years ago)

Walt and Todd cook meth, Jesse rides up on a dirt bike, Todd shoots Jesse

Jesse will be okay as long as he remembers not to wave.

you mean like Jesse will need to kill Walt, cuz otherwise Jesse won't be able to stay out of trouble?

chicago rap twitter luminary (Shakey Mo Collier), Wednesday, 29 August 2012 20:18 (thirteen years ago)

walt is the unstable one in this relaysh

Author ~ Coach ~ Goddess (s1ocki), Wednesday, 29 August 2012 20:42 (thirteen years ago)

on a details level yeah, but in a broadstrokes way it's similar - criminal father figure killing the protege he's spent the entire series protecting, I mean how often does that happen in TV

vincent black shadow giallo (Edward III), Wednesday, 29 August 2012 20:45 (thirteen years ago)

The number of people who could conceivably want to kill Walt are countless. I can even imagine Saul getting hired by Skyler to do it.

Josh in Chicago, Wednesday, 29 August 2012 20:47 (thirteen years ago)

Saul doesn't get his hands dirty, he sends his a-team

chicago rap twitter luminary (Shakey Mo Collier), Wednesday, 29 August 2012 20:48 (thirteen years ago)

Or they might pull a Carlito's Way (right?) and have a kid shoot him.

Josh in Chicago, Wednesday, 29 August 2012 20:50 (thirteen years ago)

just remember the only sure thing is that all your predictions are going to be wrong

Author ~ Coach ~ Goddess (s1ocki), Wednesday, 29 August 2012 20:53 (thirteen years ago)

but so far most of my predictions about this show have been accurate!

chicago rap twitter luminary (Shakey Mo Collier), Wednesday, 29 August 2012 20:54 (thirteen years ago)

let's see 'em

Author ~ Coach ~ Goddess (s1ocki), Wednesday, 29 August 2012 20:54 (thirteen years ago)

hey I watched this whole series in like the last month, it was like an episode to episode thing

chicago rap twitter luminary (Shakey Mo Collier), Wednesday, 29 August 2012 20:54 (thirteen years ago)

but I did call Mike's murder at the beginning of this most recent episode. I called Fring killing Victor, and Walt using Salamanca to kill Fring. And the kid shooting Combo. And Jesse's girlfriend dying (altho not the manner in which she died). I did not call Walt running over those two dealers, that was probably the biggest surprise moment/WTF to me.

but I have no internet trail to prove this sorry

chicago rap twitter luminary (Shakey Mo Collier), Wednesday, 29 August 2012 20:57 (thirteen years ago)

^this is the post i want to start the Breaking Bad Prognosticator thread

This cad needs a cordial introduction to Eugene of Oxbow. (forksclovetofu), Wednesday, 29 August 2012 21:04 (thirteen years ago)

this show really just does not strike me as remarkably unpredictable. no one can guess what's going to happen in the next episode? really?

chicago rap twitter luminary (Shakey Mo Collier), Wednesday, 29 August 2012 21:07 (thirteen years ago)

Walt hatches plan to whack Mike's 9 dudes on the inside. things go wrong. Hank inches closer to discovering Walt, finds some random piece of evidence from Mike's murder or the kid's disappearance that could potentially lead him to Walt. Lydia probably gets murdered.

chicago rap twitter luminary (Shakey Mo Collier), Wednesday, 29 August 2012 21:08 (thirteen years ago)

I've been watching the entire series over the past month as well - so I hadn't seen the Saul website before. I heard the show was very good but the first time I went to check it out, I flipped on AMC and caught the @)!#* BOX CUTTER scene with no context whatsoever and after that happened, figured I should really try something else, it seemed way too grim

seriously, THIS GUY (daria-g), Wednesday, 29 August 2012 21:09 (thirteen years ago)

I totally predicted he would kill someone with a box cutter that episode.

Josh in Chicago, Wednesday, 29 August 2012 21:16 (thirteen years ago)

Gus will kill someone with a box cutter.
-Josh in Chicago, Tuesday, May 15, 2004 6:15AM

Matt Armstrong, Wednesday, 29 August 2012 21:19 (thirteen years ago)

that was another thing I don't get, how did Walt poison that kid exactly? was this covered in this season's premier (which I missed?)

chicago rap twitter luminary (Shakey Mo Collier), Wednesday, 29 August 2012 21:20 (thirteen years ago)

it's a mystery, but my bold prognostication is that he used a hypodermic needle and a Capri Sun

Matt Armstrong, Wednesday, 29 August 2012 21:21 (thirteen years ago)

I don't think it was ever explained? probably so that it can be explained this season & Jesse finds out

seriously, THIS GUY (daria-g), Wednesday, 29 August 2012 21:23 (thirteen years ago)

makes sense

chicago rap twitter luminary (Shakey Mo Collier), Wednesday, 29 August 2012 21:24 (thirteen years ago)

from this: http://www.vulture.com/2012/08/breaking-bad-jonathan-banks-interview-mike.html

The first project that pops up on IMDb for you is Linda’s Film on Menstruation.

[Laughs.] No good deed goes unpunished. Years ago, my friend George Eichen, who was a manager of a summerstock playhouse, said, “Will you do this thing?” I went, “Sure.” And then they go ahead and they post it up there! It’s like, “Guys, really?” I just did that as a favor. They were going to try to send it to the public schools as some sort of health class (movie), so they could make some money.

lol Shakey you're earnestly claiming "I called all this stuff but I didn't do so on the thread about the show in which I participate actively"?

lol Shakey you're earnestly claiming "I called all this stuff but I didn't do so on the thread about the show in which I participate actively"?

these were predictions expressed to my wife while we watched the show - I waited til we were all caught up to get on this thread. that's just how it is. sorry I can't subject my claims to rigorous ILX scientific analysis

chicago rap twitter luminary (Shakey Mo Collier), Wednesday, 29 August 2012 21:54 (thirteen years ago)

I was not on this thread at all until last week in case you were wondering

chicago rap twitter luminary (Shakey Mo Collier), Wednesday, 29 August 2012 21:54 (thirteen years ago)

all right well you're here now and this is yr call

Walt hatches plan to whack Mike's 9 dudes on the inside. things go wrong. Hank inches closer to discovering Walt, finds some random piece of evidence from Mike's murder or the kid's disappearance that could potentially lead him to Walt. Lydia probably gets murdered.

Plan to whack 9 dudes has been telegraphed since the list was introduced by Lydia, no surprise there. "Hank inches closer to discovering Walt" is the theme of the last two seasons. Mike goes missing, who Hank was investigating, and Hank takes notice? The hell you say. And then Lydia, a minor character with almost no substance, dies? all right then

we don't wanna miss a THING!!! (underrated aerosmith bootlegs I have owned), Wednesday, 29 August 2012 22:02 (thirteen years ago)

I know right? So unpredictable!
