i mean, we could've spent today at the dmv and i'd still be in love with this guy

you guys i met a boy this weekend...

- he is really astoundingly beautiful
- even the hungover pottering around and having brunch stuff the next day was really nice
- who knows if it will go anywhere but this was a great weekend basically

also he is friends since university with some people who have been in my extended friendship group for SIX YEARS and in all that time my own so-called friends never once thought to introduce us >:(

yeah mine's in a profession where too much internet trail isn't necessarily wise but seriously i am good at googling and it's like he doesn't exist. also he seems to have avoided being in any photo any of our mutual friends has taken and put on facebook.

i have once looked at the mail to remember someone's name. luckily for me, most of the time my one-night assignations have been the sort where i was not into pursuing further action.

also, i just made a delicious dinner.

i've done the mail-peek too, just to know (or, um, remember)

mail peek wasn't an option cuz we were at my house

tbh it's mostly b/c i find generic, ordinary names really hard to remember in any situation

I mean everything is OK, it was mututal/amicable/with the understanding that we would remain friends which is nice but also sucks because having an excuse to be pissed at someone/something can be cathartic (at least in the short-term)

so i got the "what are you doing this weekend" text but what i'm doing this weekend is having a big house party for my birthday and that might be a bit...much? on every level. or it could work? yaaghh.

That's actually an ideal situation for a New Thing. The party atmosphere will prevent awkwardness, you don't have to concentrate on him, and you'll likely end up in bed by the end of the night.

hmm well it's the kind of party where there may not be an end of the night and things might get...messy. well, like the party we hooked up at, i guess, but anyway i've said i'm free on another day and if that goes well he can come to the party if he wants.

I decided to be indulgent today (bought an Aeropress!!) and am at happy hour (half priced cocktails and hummus!) at a restaurant I love and failed to take into acct that we came here on my birthday and now I am sitting alone at this bar two seats down from where we had one of our happiest meals and I actually trying not to cry, how embarrassing is this?
