do you think it would be a fair gender stereotype to say that women have crazier dreams then men? or am i generalizing based on my typically dull dreams?
― congratulations (n/a), Thursday, 23 August 2012 15:16 (thirteen years ago)
I don't think it would be fair.
Gary Pflower... holy shit.

If I ever write a series of adult speculative fiction it will be under the name Gary Pflower

Phew. I just finished writing something for work that is probably the longest thing I've written in a few years (about 1,300 words). It discusses Adele, Justin Bieber, Amanda Hocking, E.L. James, Frank Ocean, Kate Upton, Radiohead, Louis C.K., Etsy, and Tavi Gevinson.
― squicky chutzpah in the drug biz (jaymc), Thursday, 23 August 2012 17:39 (thirteen years ago)
would read, whatever it is. (presumably about cultural products and the internet or something?)
― doctor, doctor, give me the news (askance johnson), Thursday, 23 August 2012 17:45 (thirteen years ago)
I seriously can't imagine there being anyone better suited to writing a long thing about all of those people/things. I don't even know who two of those people are.
― carl agatha, Thursday, 23 August 2012 17:46 (thirteen years ago)
I had to google kate upton, and I still don't quite know how she fits in with the other folks.
― doctor, doctor, give me the news (askance johnson), Thursday, 23 August 2012 17:48 (thirteen years ago)
why did your work want an essay about ilx?
― congratulations (n/a), Thursday, 23 August 2012 18:00 (thirteen years ago)
It looks like Roy's furniture might be coming back, based on the fact that they have a temporary sales warehouse, which I learned bout from an Amazonlocal ad.

I'd never heard of the neighborhood Heart of Italy before, but that's where they are.
― (*・_・)ノ⌒ ☆ (Je55e), Thursday, 23 August 2012 18:49 (thirteen years ago)
Happy birthday LL! I'm happy that you were born.
― (*・_・)ノ⌒ ☆ (Je55e), Thursday, 23 August 2012 18:52 (thirteen years ago)
Why do you have a dumb display name now?
― Jeff, Thursday, 23 August 2012 18:54 (thirteen years ago)
The article is about self-promotion, D.I.Y., fame via the Internet, new strategies for creative success, etc.
I worked in Kate Upton b/c she arguably only became a huge deal after the video of her doing the Dougie went viral.
― squicky chutzpah in the drug biz (jaymc), Thursday, 23 August 2012 19:10 (thirteen years ago)
Yeah, I think that's what launched her.

So a coworker was SO FUCKING EXCITED about the book Abraham Lincoln: Vampire Slayer and wouldn't shut up about it so I put it on hold and the library and after a month or so (there were like triple digit people waiting for copies of the ebook), I got it. And it is a terrible book! The writing is dreadful but at first it was kind of fun so I didn't mind, but now the author is setting things up to make it so that vampires are mainly responsible for slavery and the Civil War and I can't even.
― carl agatha, Thursday, 23 August 2012 19:15 (thirteen years ago)
heart of italy is pretty close to where i live. afaict it is a neighborhood with an area of only a few blocks.

Also, Elizabeth Moss is pissed at the cameraman, or at her mom standing next to the cameraman making suggestions.

You know what I hate? There is a single brown line train that turns into a orange line train to Midway every morning. Therefore it doesn't continue around the loop. And I don't realize it until it is too late.
― Jeff, Friday, 24 August 2012 13:12 (thirteen years ago)
that single brown line train was completely awesome when we went to midway a month ago.

blargh, Europa Books is closing September 1st. On the bright side, everything is 50% off, so you can finally pick up that copy of Colloquial Breton you've always wanted.
