Shall we anticipate the FIFTH SEASON of the AMC series "Breaking Bad"? I think I may.

does walt have the power of time travel, srs question

If so, maybe he can travel to the year 2012 and get one of those 3D printers to make a gun for him.

did you know they made a SECRET WARS II omnibus? $100!

"Batshit crazy," the foam clog tycoon said. (forksclovetofu), Wednesday, 22 August 2012 19:48 (thirteen years ago)

It's certainly no "secret" (LOL) that Marvel hugely overvalues its own product. Not to get too completely off-topic.

Old Lunch, Wednesday, 22 August 2012 19:57 (thirteen years ago)

damn you Old Lunch, damn you

Element Lad, guys

ʘ (sic), Wednesday, 22 August 2012 22:36 (thirteen years ago)

but...Element Lad is DC

Number None, Wednesday, 22 August 2012 22:37 (thirteen years ago)

he's rather jaunty, isn't he

set the controls for the heart of the sun (VegemiteGrrl), Wednesday, 22 August 2012 22:38 (thirteen years ago)

^ homophobe

sorry to break the secret but DC has been known to publish a "super hero" or two occasionally

ʘ (sic), Wednesday, 22 August 2012 22:39 (thirteen years ago)

jeez louise

set the controls for the heart of the sun (VegemiteGrrl), Wednesday, 22 August 2012 22:40 (thirteen years ago)

oh yeah, for some reason i thought the original post specified Marvel

Number None, Wednesday, 22 August 2012 22:42 (thirteen years ago)

"x-men"

"Batshit crazy," the foam clog tycoon said. (forksclovetofu), Wednesday, 22 August 2012 22:42 (thirteen years ago)

now we just have to determine which one of these similarly powered characters would win in a fight

Number None, Wednesday, 22 August 2012 22:43 (thirteen years ago)

At this point, Walt-as-superbeing doesn't remind me of any particular superhero as much as he does Dr. Hill from Re-Animator.

Old Lunch, Wednesday, 22 August 2012 22:49 (thirteen years ago)

the jar is albuquerque
wait
the jar is the dea
and the spider is...walt. meth. walt's hat. jesse. albuquerque

the jar is covered in fingerprints, was the only thing not thrown in the acid vats, and will figure in heavily in a later episode

messiahwannabe, Wednesday, 22 August 2012 23:22 (thirteen years ago)

Having your kids fingerprinted is not that common yet, is it?

Bobby-fil-A (WmC), Wednesday, 22 August 2012 23:33 (thirteen years ago)

The undissolved jar is a half measure.

Old Lunch, Wednesday, 22 August 2012 23:35 (thirteen years ago)

he's talking about the spider's fingerprints on the inside of the jar

puff puff post (uh oh I'm having a fantasy), Wednesday, 22 August 2012 23:35 (thirteen years ago)

Tons of kids are fingerprinted. They have lots of meet the police functions at elementary schools where they fingerprint, as a learning exercise but also as a safety function. So, yeah, that could play. But I don't see why it would play, unless that was some special family heirloom jar and/or spider with very identifiable features. Because why would anyone dust the spider jar?

Josh in Chicago, Wednesday, 22 August 2012 23:37 (thirteen years ago)

cause it's laying around at a crime scene? cause they bust into todd's place looking for stolen nannycams or whatever?

messiahwannabe, Wednesday, 22 August 2012 23:44 (thirteen years ago)

cause todd carefully wiped his own prints off it, planted it in jesse's basement, and called the cops on him?

messiahwannabe, Wednesday, 22 August 2012 23:46 (thirteen years ago)

usually when you search a criminal's apartment I don't think you dust for prints?

pun lovin criminal (polyphonic), Wednesday, 22 August 2012 23:46 (thirteen years ago)

unless you're trying to figure out who killed him i guess

pun lovin criminal (polyphonic), Wednesday, 22 August 2012 23:46 (thirteen years ago)

ok maybe not the latter but i could see it being an issue later. or it's just a metaphor. a metaphor that todd kept even though they destroyed the fuck out of everything else that could implicate them in the murder, and is a perfect medium for retaining fingerprints!

i mean, i wouldn't bet more than say $10 on this actually being a thing, just throwin it out there. but, it's not impossible, right? they did make a point of showing todd keeping the tarantula in a glass.

messiahwannabe, Wednesday, 22 August 2012 23:50 (thirteen years ago)

The kid isn't wearing gloves when he's on his bike, so at least it's a possibility.

pun lovin criminal (polyphonic), Wednesday, 22 August 2012 23:54 (thirteen years ago)

Metaphor, sure. But I can't imagine cops dust literally everything in a room for prints. Unless ... they knew the kids was out hunting for spiders. Which they probably do ...

Josh in Chicago, Thursday, 23 August 2012 00:11 (thirteen years ago)

todd is so messed up, keeping the spider as a souvenir

lag∞n, Thursday, 23 August 2012 00:12 (thirteen years ago)

Of course, it would be amazing if the cops figured out the fate of this missing, and subsequently liquidated, kid in the desert based on prints gathered from a random, seemingly unrelated hood, and yet can't figure out that Walter White is cooking meth in huge, chemically pure quantities.

Josh in Chicago, Thursday, 23 August 2012 00:12 (thirteen years ago)

i wish ed o'neill got a chance to go full cranston when he was in his prime, he probably could've blown some people away with the right role

― WheatusVEVO (Hungry4Ass), Saturday, August 18, 2012 4:01 PM (4 days ago)

he is totally amazing in John From Cincinatti fyi

also the dude who plays declan is the main serial killing rapey antagonist in a show i'm watching on netflix on demand (Durham County)and if thats any indication of his skill i hope they keep him around for a while, hes pretty awesome.

O_o-O_O-o_O (jjjusten), Thursday, 23 August 2012 00:13 (thirteen years ago)

the spider is just some pink teddy bear shit isn't it?

wk, Thursday, 23 August 2012 00:24 (thirteen years ago)

Yeah, it'll turn out that rubble from the nursing home explosion landed on and destroyed a tarantula nest, making Walt responsible for hundreds more deaths. In an elaborate two-part flashback, we'll learn the lengths Todd's pet has gone to to avenge his family's death.

Old Lunch, Thursday, 23 August 2012 00:44 (thirteen years ago)

I mean in the sense of "let's focus on this gimmicky thing that's totally irrelevant to the story."

wk, Thursday, 23 August 2012 01:30 (thirteen years ago)

the spider i suspect served more of symbolic role

lag∞n, Thursday, 23 August 2012 03:05 (thirteen years ago)

Walt, Jesse, Todd, Mike = Eight dangerous arms in the desert

pplains, Thursday, 23 August 2012 03:20 (thirteen years ago)

well now that you've all shot my innocent young theory down you might as well boil it in acid and pretend it never existed. later i'll overhear you whistling a jaunty tune.

messiahwannabe, Thursday, 23 August 2012 05:04 (thirteen years ago)

todd is so messed up, keeping the spider as a souvenir

ok ok, upon reflection this strikes actually me as more likely what we're supposed to draw from the scene.

...or is it!

messiahwannabe, Thursday, 23 August 2012 05:06 (thirteen years ago)

i think ppl keep overstating the 'mike never kills anyone' thing, we've seen him shoot ppl in cold blood multiple times
