Tons of kids are fingerprinted. They have lots of meet the police functions at elementary schools where they fingerprint, as a learning exercise but also as a safety function. So, yeah, that could play. But I don't see why it would play, unless that was some special family heirloom jar and/or spider with very identifiable features. Because why would anyone dust the spider jar?

cause it's laying around at a crime scene? cause they bust into todd's place looking for stolen nannycams or whatever?

cause todd carefully wiped his own prints off it, planted it in jesse's basement, and called the cops on him?

usually when you search a criminal's apartment I don't think you dust for prints?

unless you're trying to figure out who killed him i guess

ok maybe not the latter but i could see it being an issue later. or it's just a metaphor. a metaphor that todd kept even though they destroyed the fuck out of everything else that could implicate them in the murder, and is a perfect medium for retaining fingerprints!

Of course, it would be amazing if the cops figured out the fate of this missing, and subsequently liquidated, kid in the desert based on prints gathered from a random, seemingly unrelated hood, and yet can't figure out that Walter White is cooking meth in huge, chemically pure quantities.
