I didn't end up dancing last night anyway Alex, I sat around in a weird mood moving waveforms around pretending I was getting shit done.

Tonight though my big gay housemate is doing a BBQ on a little gas stove he just bought, I am so excited

I've never pent out on a bus or airplane. I suppose it's been done.

it has.

I haven't de-pented on a bus or plane. I am just pent up. Without any foreseeable release until 11 or so.

Stevie had a wonderful greyhound story iirc.

Sad to hear you were feeling out of sorts Owen but we will find another opportunity to hit the town. BBQs are fun.

twinkin' and drinkin' and ready to fly (Alex in Montreal), Sunday, 19 August 2012 23:51 (thirteen years ago)

omg where is my dealer

surm, Monday, 20 August 2012 00:02 (thirteen years ago)

the eternal question

The Reverend, Monday, 20 August 2012 00:21 (thirteen years ago)

word. he just got here with his girlfriend who is like super nice. (he's really hot so i'm not surprised) and we talked about mariah carey

apparently he used to have a supercrush on her when he was a kid (again not a surprising thing)

surm, Monday, 20 August 2012 00:39 (thirteen years ago)

my dealer is this nice older woman i work with. she has dreadlocks.

ph1l and i are smoking and watching the 3rd season of buffy

I've never pent out on a bus or airplane. I suppose it's been done.

It has. Also on subways and other trains, and you can see numerous recordings of it on your favorite -tube site. Scat and exploitative videos are the only things I'd less like to see than some asshole beating off next to a sleeping stranger or jizzing onto a pole on an O'Hare Blue Line car.

that is certainly a thing i have never done

half-worm inchworm tapeworm (donna rouge), Monday, 20 August 2012 06:14 (thirteen years ago)

That just seems unsanitary.

twinkin' and drinkin' and ready to fly (Alex in Montreal), Monday, 20 August 2012 14:06 (thirteen years ago)

But one can always lean against the wall for that jostling effect.

a regina spektor is haunting europe (Alfred, Lord Sotosyn), Monday, 20 August 2012 14:07 (thirteen years ago)

that is certainly a thing i have never done

I think it's obvious, but I want to be clear: I have not JO'ed on any public vehicle. Also, I'm not judging anyone for a little ficky-fick on a bus, train, or plane, just saying the almost-flasher thing is not cool with me. And filming it is also pretty icky.

(*・_・)ノ⌒ ☆ (Je55e), Monday, 20 August 2012 16:20 (thirteen years ago)

Wait, no. I did rub one out through my pocket in 8th grade on the school bus when I was the last passenger. Didn't post it to Xtube though.

there is an article on the guardian explaining people how to be gay and they say you 'have' to cruise but I have never done that. what am I missing. do you guys do this all the time? sounds exciting but im terribly shy. started reading about the stuff on the internet and then I got depressed because of the owen p story, the surm one, and all the cruising I have never done.

wolves lacan, Monday, 20 August 2012 18:55 (thirteen years ago)

it isn't depressing, it's nice! agonizing over whether or not to say hi to someone is a good problem to have. i mean flirting is like a necessary part of being alive.

surm, Monday, 20 August 2012 18:59 (thirteen years ago)

i intuitively balk at anyone telling me "how" to be gay (iirc the guy who wrote that piece wrote some like really terrible articles for gawker once?) and i've only ever actively cruised in places that were designed for it, e.g. the cock ~3am. i've been cruised a couple of times though. it was nice!

half-worm inchworm tapeworm (donna rouge), Monday, 20 August 2012 18:59 (thirteen years ago)

lol

as Rayanne Graf would say "people throwing themselves at each other? is like, the basis of civilization"

surm, Monday, 20 August 2012 19:00 (thirteen years ago)

It takes practice. The problem is going to the gay bars and clubs. A girl can reasonably assume that a guy in any context or location is likely hitting on her. Men unfortunately don't think this way.

a regina spektor is haunting europe (Alfred, Lord Sotosyn), Monday, 20 August 2012 19:05 (thirteen years ago)

Yeah, I still can't quite wrap my head around the idea that every person I don't know at a gay bar who talks to me is hitting on me. Doesn't seem plausible.

Eric H., Monday, 20 August 2012 19:07 (thirteen years ago)

Whereas if you flirt with another man at a straight bar the man likely thinks you're just being friendly.

a regina spektor is haunting europe (Alfred, Lord Sotosyn), Monday, 20 August 2012 19:14 (thirteen years ago)

its the sober glancing in the 'real world' that is super problematic for me (fight or fly or rejection or meet cute guy = it breaks my nerves) but I will definitely practice ... I totally forgot but I was cruised once too! it was so cool. and yeah the article is terrible don't read it.

wolves lacan, Monday, 20 August 2012 19:30 (thirteen years ago)

I am pretty much the least flirtatious person ever #shylife :/

The Reverend, Monday, 20 August 2012 19:41 (thirteen years ago)

fuck flirting

surm, Monday, 20 August 2012 20:17 (thirteen years ago)

omg that was not me that just typed that that was a alterego

surm, Monday, 20 August 2012 20:17 (thirteen years ago)

surm, Monday, 20 August 2012 20:17 (thirteen years ago)

there is an article on the guardian explaining people how to be gay

moylan is a grotesque caricature of gayness imho

a hoy hoy heat (J0rdan S.), Monday, 20 August 2012 20:24 (thirteen years ago)

omg even surm's dealers are sunshine delights

lex pretend, Monday, 20 August 2012 20:26 (thirteen years ago)

brian moylan is thoroughly repugnant please take him back america

lex pretend, Monday, 20 August 2012 20:27 (thirteen years ago)

he wrote that thing bragging about outing anderson cooper

repulsive

lex pretend, Monday, 20 August 2012 20:27 (thirteen years ago)

wait - what is 'cruising'? is it just flirting? for some reason i thought it was something more intense/sketchy than that? like picking someone you don't know up for immediate sex? it has this predatory animal on the prowl connotation to it in my mind...

because re: "do you do this all the time?" i don't think i ever consciously 'cruise' but i'm definitely a flirt.

twinkin' and drinkin' and ready to fly (Alex in Montreal), Monday, 20 August 2012 20:34 (thirteen years ago)

cruising and flirting are rather different things

real men have been preparing manly dishes for centuries (elmo argonaut), Monday, 20 August 2012 20:35 (thirteen years ago)

my cruise face is kind of weird i think

surm, Monday, 20 August 2012 20:35 (thirteen years ago)

i mean, as far my experience goes

real men have been preparing manly dishes for centuries (elmo argonaut), Monday, 20 August 2012 20:36 (thirteen years ago)

mistaking cruising and flirting could lead to some interesting situations

lex pretend, Monday, 20 August 2012 20:38 (thirteen years ago)

i still don't really get how all you regular cruisers find the dudes who are, like, not straight when just out and about randomly. most of the time when i see someone hott i assume they're str8 (and if i don't it's usually because they're with their bf, ugh)

lex pretend, Monday, 20 August 2012 20:39 (thirteen years ago)

Straight or "straight"?

(*・_・)ノ⌒ ☆ (Je55e), Monday, 20 August 2012 20:44 (thirteen years ago)

If they're actually straight, they aren't cruising, so you don't find them.

(*・_・)ノ⌒ ☆ (Je55e), Monday, 20 August 2012 20:45 (thirteen years ago)

i meant "men who i would theoretically want to cruise or would respond to if they theoretically cruised me"

which they don't b/c they are usually str8

lex pretend, Monday, 20 August 2012 20:50 (thirteen years ago)

i'm sure cruising happens out in the open, on the street, etc. but most of the cruising i know about takes place in specific semi-public locations

real men have been preparing manly dishes for centuries (elmo argonaut), Monday, 20 August 2012 20:54 (thirteen years ago)

i thought cruising happened at gay bars

surm, Monday, 20 August 2012 20:56 (thirteen years ago)

public restrooms, rest areas, hiking trails, parks, adult bookstores, etc etc

real men have been preparing manly dishes for centuries (elmo argonaut), Monday, 20 August 2012 20:58 (thirteen years ago)

now is there like a key, like a signature look - like the "i'm a creep" look ? is it all about the eye contact ? omg so shaday

surm, Monday, 20 August 2012 20:58 (thirteen years ago)

it's kind of fun to be somewhere and have that "this is a cruising spot" flag drop on you.

xp it's bedroom eyes iirc, lots of peoples' bedroom eyes are creepy
