I do not deny though that there was some horribly abusive behavior that spun out of those injokes

the impenetrability of the "best animal friends", "lol tubmlr", and "VAPEZILLA!" threads is really keeping the drawbridge down, not sure how anyone would understand that board

Earnestness, out. Feelings, out. Verbosity, out. Zinging harder and faster and more meanly or cleverly = the way to be in. Treating sexism/racism/bigotry like we could have joeks about it because we were "post-" all that now, that was in, too.

i think 2007 was a really ugly year for ilx. people seemed to be in an ugly mood. the ridiculous level of shit hurled at LJ didn't help
