Sitting in a sketchy mcdonalds waiting for the boy to leave the border and get back to Montreal because I'm supposed to pick him up dinner but customs is taking longer than anticipated and I don't want it to be cold. Haha. As j0rdan just told me 'the things we do for love...'

But seriously this is a super sketchy mcds. It is in the basement level of a building on a main bar street and has. No real street presence.

Hmm. My bf used to eat McDs twice a week. He was diagnosed with high cholesterol at age 27. "Give up bacon? I'd rather *die*" That was eight years ago, he's a fresh juice and yoga kind of guy now.

does McDonald's even serve real bacon?

Whatever it's made of, he used to love it. I started buying raw almonds and forcing them on him, sneaking them into smoothies and so forth.

About six months ago I roused him out of bed to join me for a yoga class, "we bought you a yoga mat and you've never used it." He stomped around the house, pouting, "I hate yoga." But he came to the class and fell in love, started going all the time. Now he's at the gym every day, yoga three times a week, shakes and steamed kale and gluten-free and so forth. He called me excitedly yesterday to tell me he'd been measured at 8% body fat. (Is that good? I don't know. He was super happy about it.)

Oh, raw almonds, eaten daily, in case you didn't know, have been shown to be as effective in reducing bad cholesterol levels as prescription meds.

JF is young enough that he's still at that stage where he can eat and metabolize pretty much anything. Damn 21 year olds etc. He's the one on my case about yoga and eating properly and I should be better about listening to him. And I should probably eat more almonds or do yoga.

Yeah it's good to start in your 20s you won't regret it, just think of the most beautiful arms that've ever served you a meal and know they can be yours

25 is going to be a banner year. Or the death of me. Lol.

The lowest I'll stoop is Wendy's and even then only maybe twice a year.

I do admit I have a special affinity for their junior bacon cheeseburger even as I realize how gross it is.

The last time I ate a Big 3 burger was at Wendy's about 20 years ago, and it stayed *up* for about 45 mins.

Not only do I not eat fast food anymore, I don't even get what is pleasurable abt eating fast food anymore.

I think my greatest fast food experience was when I was my lung collapsed and after three weeks of hospital food, someone brought me Wendy's and it was ~the greatest~.

Five Guys, Smashburger and Culvers are the "acceptable" options in Minnesota. And White Castle.

We just got a few Five Guys in Montreal but I had no idea what they were. I'm not normally a burger person, but are they any good?

This is such a strange turn of conversation for the thread.

They are supposed to be the best I think; I'd love to try one but balk at the idea of spending $6 for a burger.
