Michael Jacksons Beat It & Billy Jean

Ste, Monday, 14 January 2008 09:49 (eighteen years ago)

But they're easy to tell apart: "Beat It" begins with a guitar riff and "Billy Jean" with a synth riff.

Tuomas, Monday, 14 January 2008 11:35 (eighteen years ago)

it's not so much when i'm listening to them, it's more when i'm talking about them to someone else. Or if Beat It comes on the radio I say "oh i think this is my fave jacko tune" and then realise its not, it's billy jean.

Ste, Monday, 14 January 2008 11:39 (eighteen years ago)

Yeah, I can get that. I always mix "We Are the World" and Jacko's "Heal the World" in my head, to the extent of singing the lyrics of the latter to the tune of the former.

Quentin Crip/Crispin Glover/Crispian Mills. I'm not even sure totally sure who these people are, but I still mix them up.

Tuomas, Sunday, 2 March 2008 21:45 (eighteen years ago)

Just the names, I mean. I'm quite sure the actual people are very different.

Tuomas, Sunday, 2 March 2008 21:46 (eighteen years ago)

one month passes...

I just realized I've always mixed up Steely Dan and Steeleye Span. Then again, I don't know much about either except that they were 70s rock bands.

Tuomas, Thursday, 3 April 2008 11:24 (eighteen years ago)

Steeleye Span was a folkish band whereas Steely Dan was R&B and jazz inflected. To help you out.

kingkongvsgodzilla, Thursday, 3 April 2008 11:49 (eighteen years ago)

Sasha Frere-Jones and Sasha Baron-Cohen.

Nothing to do with their names, but I'm always stumbling and getting Cheever in my Updike. And vice versa.

Tuomas, Tuesday, 18 November 2008 10:20 (seventeen years ago)

I mean, what's the point of having two glam rock singers named "Stardust"? Which one of them came first?

Tuomas, Tuesday, 18 November 2008 10:25 (seventeen years ago)

The legendary Stardust Cowboy.

(ten points to me)
